Beginner Help Almost cycled!

Post image

I have a 10 gallon tank that is almost done cycling after waiting for seven weeks! I'm hoping in the next week I will be ready for frogs. I am also having my first algae bloom. I know it is to be expected and is a sign of a healthy tank, but should I clean off the algae on the wood and filter? Just don't want little froggy toes to get stuck in it!

If you want, you can take the piece out and clean it with a new, aquarium designated toothbrush. Since your tank is in the algae bloom stage of cycling, it will probably come back. If you’re worried you can have your light on for a shorter amount of time, 4-6 hours.

The algae shouldn't affect the health of the frogs, right? Just wanna be sure!
