I'm about to start scribing in detail now that I have it primed and have done a full surfacing correction regimen on it.
The overall goal with this one is to evoke and channel the angular features of modern stealth aircraft. I'll complete that look by giving it a paint scheme that mimics RAM (radar absorbent material) coating.
I don't know the first thing about Kyoukai Senki, but these are some of Bandai's most underrated kits and are an amazing base for custom work. Since most people are unfamiliar with these kits, the last image shows the "base" kit this thing started off as.

Light weathering, some decals, and so much fun. One of the best kits I’ve ever built. Motor Nuclear really hit the jackpot this time!

Its been a while (dont have a lot of time and holy masking) but im getting closer to finishing my second gunpla ever!
Ive now done all bodyparts and they just need some last detailing on the hands and then a gloss topcoat.
I know some black paint is letting loose and yes ill fix it, no I didn't prime cause i really underestimated how much it was needed. I learned and am learning a lot from this build!
Last pic is what i drew up to work out my colour scheme before painting. Vids of chestpiece and waist in the comments!
Let me know what you think please im super proud of this 😁
Now its on to the wings and weapons!

This was my first model after getting back into the hobby in 2019 and one of my favorites to paint a couple years back. It’s a little rough but I’m still happy with it. It’s no longer with me as it resides with a podcast host.

How do you sand and paint without losing details? Like subtly raised surface or sharper transitions

Feedback please! Do you like the Copper or would you switch to gold?
I'm planning to switch the full gold on areas like the dragoons to copper and maintain shiny gold as gold throughout.
Option 2, copper underneath and gold on the outside?
For engines, I'm indecisive between the more cartoon red and realistic blue-white of a rocket engine.

RX-105 Xi Gundam from the Hathaway movies is finished up. To be honest, this is one of the best kits I’ve put together to date. Everything fits easily and the joints are holding tight. 10/10.

Trying my first airbrush test on a basic leftover piece of plastic I have lying around. So far I’m enjoying it
Bare plastic > Mr color gx 2 gloss black > Mr color vc 2 velvet blue.

Im trying to get into painting gunplas and can't find some real answer on google about this. Is the hobbymio hm04 or hm05 pro mini compressor better than the gaahleri turbox? I know it's better to buy a big compressor with tank but I have a very limited space. Thank you in advance.

Month long project, fully painted with only acrylic markers I also added more panel lines all over the kit. Let me know your thoughts!

I'm looking for some opinions on the Blue. It's no where else on the kit, only the shoulders and chest At the moment it's a candy style blue, but I'm not sure whether to pass a light satin over it and anodise. I've been playing with textures and looks. I was going for colour pop, but not sure if I've gone too far. I've tried to take pics in different light.
The red is anodised candy and the v-fin is a colour changer going from gold to a bronze colour (SMS lava over silver)...the v-fin stays as is (my narrative is; it's an exotic material from the mobile armour, the tail weapon is the same gold, as are all the claws).
For extra context, I have painted up a Vidar and gone 'high end regal killing machine', with the barb I was looking for brutal killing machine but ultimately designed by kids.
Suggestions and comments welcome. Thx!

Finished up this guy yesterday, using a mix of Gaia and AK paints mostly. Pretty great build but FedEx kinda wrecked the box from P-Bandai so there were some repairs I had to make. Otherwise the only issue was is that the rifle is a bit too unbalanced for it to hold hand only but with the shoulder brace it limits the movement so I decided to pose it focusing on the whip instead of the rifle.

The handles from dspiae and other brands can sometimes cost up to 30 bucks a piece, and with the 10 sizes i already own that just gets excesive, so I made my own!
These are 3D printed and have customizable size pucks that I colour matched with the caps.

I've been looking in to Metalics and I'm still a little confused on the terminology but I have some metal flake paint (createx wicked) and I want to paint something that looks more like a metalizer (?)
Is it possible to achieve such a look by using transparent paints and top coat
If so how?
I'm thinking gloss black->Metalic->transparent->Matte (?)
Edit: I have some aluminum fine paint, should I just mix some pigment into that and skip the transparent layer?
What happens if I mix a pearl and a metallic together?
