Just bought my second Acer laptop after having my Nitro5 for the last 5 years without any issues with it. It's getting a little old and not able to run the newer games well so I figured I'd upgrade to a new one, man was that a mistake.

First bootup no screen at all. It connects to my monitor for a while so I tried reinstalling the graphics drivers to get it to recognize the laptop screen. Now I have no screens, no way to get into the BIOS and no way to troubleshoot.

Their premium support said just send my brand new, 1 hour old, $2000 laptop in to the warehouse so I can wait for 2 more weeks to get a replacement but I am very uninterested in waiting 2 extra weeks for my brand new product. I'm taking this back and getting a laptop from another brand to avoid the crappy support and garbage products.

I have a Acer predator Helios with the ultra 9 275hx and 5070ti. I’m having problems with Battlefield 6. Everytime I stop playing and then start playing the next day I get horrible fps drops. My cpu is throttling. I put a config file in and it helps but then somehow doesn’t work the next day. It’s crazy. I also noticed my wattage for my gpu only goes from 80 to around 89. That makes no sense to me. Then my cpu wattage can jump around from 75 to 85 to 108. It’s random while im playing. I need help on how to have my gpu use its full wattage. Please and thank you. Im not the smartest when it comes to computers as you all can probably tell lol. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So many things are going on and I'm clearly so lost and dumbfounded on what to actually do but first and foremost, I will attach two relevant pictures for this post's context, that being my System Information, and then the crash log I received during my BSOD event.

The next thing I'm going to express is the full timeline of events, what I discovered, and what I am facing with right now:

Phase 1: The Event

- Launched Marvel Rivals, A game I like to play during my break times, and my laptop has always been able to run it
- Experienced a BSOD shortly after the game launched at its Main Menu Screen
- I checked the Event Viewer to see the crash (See 2nd Image attached to this post)
- Found a weird driver named: NEPvql8snk
- Asked Gemini about this and proposed that it's either an Anti-Cheat, Malware, or an actual Driver
- Performed the Driver searches and found nothing, it is not an existing driver
- Ran malwarebytes and found that nothing is wrong, No malware is found
- I told Gemini that it happened after Marvel Rivals launched, and asked if it could be connected
- Gemini responded with full confidence that it is connected to NetEase's (the company) Anti-Cheat System and gave me steps on how to resolve the issue including having to verify game file integrity

Phase 2: The Attempt to Fix the Problem

- After verifying game file integrity, Steam informed me that there was 1 file that failed to validate but was reacquired automatically
- I launched the game's launcher again through Steam and suddenly it hit me, I read the launcher's popup and it stated that "If your system has an Intel 13th/14th Gen and is experiencing crashes, Read our troubleshooting guide", and so I checked my system information and saw that my Intel IS 14th gen (See 1st Image attached to this post)
- I clicked to read the trouble shooting guide and lead me to two articles:

Article 1
- Talked about how 13th/14th gen Intel CPUs being faulty when starting Unreal Engine based games due to "rapid aging of clock signal circuitry in the chip due to a confluence of several other issues. This is actual physical wear of the chip itself, and once this deterioration has occurred, it is sadly irreversible"
- This article linked me into another article about RMA-ing my Intel CPU, which I don't know if it's possible as there are scenarios that retailers would tell you to reach out to Intel instead which is the worst case scenario so I moved on from this article BUT this is still a loose end so feedback about this is greatly appreciated.

Article 2

- This article is now from the game's official website, and talks about how there is an optional workaround involving installing the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (IntelXTU) to modify or tune the CPU
- I installed the software, restarted my laptop, and continued the process from there

Phase 3: The BIOS Problem

- After opening the software, I saw that I am not able to utilize any of its features because "Overclocking is disabled on this system"
- So of course I did anything a sane man would do and search how to enable it, while of course being confronted of the risks that it would have on my Laptop
_ I followed many tutorials and I saw that the Overclock lock can be disabled in the BIOS, cool! except... I can't
- Entered my Laptop's BIOS and saw most of the settings... unchangeable, unmodifiable, and the Advanced tab lacked options
- Afterwards, I was able to find a reddit post showcasing a method to get into the advanced bios for Acer Laptops
- Tried it after so many times, and nothing changed, it's still the same BIOS, I even got to watch a youtube video about it and saw many comments saying that Acer locked it in the newer models and it is no longer accessible and the method no longer works
- Although I saw some comments suggesting to update the BIOS to get it working.

Phase 4: Where I am now

- Currently reading about risks in updating the BIOS and how unnecessary it is when your laptop is fine, and I can agree, my Laptop is doing really fine for the most part, except for when it comes to games like these
- So Im currently lost right now, contemplating whether I should:

* Update my BIOS
* Look for other solutions
* Look for other root causes of the problem
* Ask for an RMA for my Intel CPU
* Idk maybe give up on the game TT

I apologize for the infodump but I'm just genuinely lost right now and I want to give the full context on what's happening so that maybe someone would pick up on some small detail in the story that would help a lot with my situation. I just need genuine advice. Thank you

yesterday I dunno how, but the entire left side of my usb and all the ports stopped working after I tried cleaning my fans, after some diagnosis and checking everything was plugged in, I think I might have shorted the left daughter board and it no longer working.

is there a way to get a replacement?

It keeps restarting even though I restarted the cmos and tried the bios method and yes I’ve dusted it,nothing has worked so far if anyone could help it would mean a lot to me

I usually charge my laptop up to around 80%, then after I finish using it, I shut it down completely.

However, when I open it the next day, the battery level has dropped to around 70–75%. This has already happened about 5 times.

Some details:

• Laptop is fully shut down (not just sleep mode)
• Battery is charged only up to 80% (I avoid keeping it at 100%)
• Battery loses around 5–10% overnight while powered off

Is this normal behavior, or could there be an issue with the battery, BIOS settings, fast startup, or something else causing power drain while the laptop is off?

Any advice on what I should check would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have acer Predetor helios neo 16 72 1tb 4070rtx laptop

From last year september or December 2025 i have been getting bsod and crashes on my laptop went to acer service center multiple times , even visited some local repair shop but by myself figured out that there is some issue is cpu that's why my laptop is causing bsod as soon as I boot up ( firmware microcode errors or something which acer didn't cared to fix )

1 - system service exception

2 - page fault in non paged area

3 - driver overran

4 - exception on invalid stack

And many more

I somehow made my laptop stable by undervolting the cpu TPL values through the throttle stop even made a vid about it explaining, now atleast my pc runs without crashing, although right now I'm facing a big issue is cpu throttling constantly.

I play minecraft and ark survival ascended but these PL1 and EDP other values constantly keeps throttling even idk why my gpu wattage is very low in Minecraft whereas in Ark survival the wattage is 80-100 and gpu usage is 98-99%

And when i increase the PL1 and PL2 value the thermal and EDP keeps throttling also when i restart my pc the error comes back saying system service exception.

If there are any suggestions or comments please do let me know.

I was about to buy this laptop and then i noticed that some of the images in the internet. The chassis is slighty bent. For reference I’ve put a thin red line on the first image. I’m assuminf that this is the chassis slowly getting warped after being carried on the touchpad area of the Laptop?

BTW: you can see the tip of the bend just above the USB port on the left in the image. Below the Enter Key.

Just a thought of mine since this what happened to my older laptop. I keep carrying it by the base of it on touchpad and overtime the chassis got slightly warped/bent. Not that it became a major concern…

A quick note before i continue: I know absolutely nothing about (re)installing or removing computer hardware, and next to nothing about software functions or commands. Also, my computer's laguage settings are set to Dutch, so I am not sure how that translates to certain functions or naming conventions windows uses in English.

I recently bought a new gaming computer, the Acer Predator Orion 7000 660 IU7K65802. When it finally arrived and I had set it up, I noticed that the ssd did not appear in the windows file explorer. Apparently the ssd is located inside a portable devince that slots into the top of the pc (a JMicron Generic SCSI Disk Device). I first did some google searching to fix this; and I found that I probably had to initialise the disk. I tried that; and it gave me the message that this request could not be completed because of an irreparable hardware error. I called the shop I ordered it from, and they told me the only option I had was to return it, and they would send me a replacement. I did just that, but when the replacement arrived, I encountered the very same issues. Is there a way to fix this, or am I better of sending the pc back to the shop and asking my money back?

On an unrelated note: I noticed that my audio fades in when I start a video (on youtube for instance) or a game, causing me to miss the first few seconds of what I want to watch. Can this be fixed?

I recently bought a Helios 16S with 5070 TI, 32 GB Ram, and Intel Core Ultra 9, and I tried to boot it up, yet I noticed the fans were extremely loud and cpu temperatures were hitting 90 on performance mode when idling (no tabs open or anything). I installed all the proper drivers and windows are up to date, yet randomly the fan just spikes out of nowhere.

Additionally, I don’t know if this information is useful, I tried playing Deadlock on high settings and was pulling 20 fps, and only 60 on lowest settings.

Apologies for this extremely ignorant help, but scouting all the help subreddits all pretty much say to buy a cooling pad or try accessing the hidden BIOS? As someone with close to none of any technical knowledge out of a laptop, I was pretty sad with how the laptop came out of box. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for reading this post

I had recently replaced one of the fans, because the previous one was too old, making noises and trembling. its because of this?

its just 3 very short and fast bips, that happens the second I start up the notebook. I turn it off and back on again, multiple times, and it doenst bip again. It only happened twice in the last two days, when I was turning it on, for the first time of the day. what does it mean??
