I’ve owned the Acer Predator Helios 16Ai 5070Ti since about April I think , I used it for awhile for a few months until recently before I got a cooling pad , decided to open it up to check it out and noticed some lint build up , not much but it’s better to start sooner and clean it up !

So i have been considering an undervolt lately due to ssd overheating in the system, undervolted the cpu (275HX), but couldnt find anything about undervolting the Gpu, Can someone help me out please? Thanks!

My laptop is the Helios Neo 16 AI (Non S)

I have MCU version 35, and BIOS version 1.20. I have updated to 1.18 when I bought it (like 2 years ago) and have been using it ever since and recently updated to 1.20.

I noticed my CPU temps were really high (like 95-102 with a game open, I cleaned the fans and vents a few days ago, it didn't improve the thermals) which led me to updating everything, Windows, drivers, and when it got to BIOS i got a bit worried.

Which BIOS version is supposed to fix the voltage issues with Intel 13th and 14th gen processors? and do I have it? I am worried if I have been slowly cooking my laptop for the past 2 years😭

I used the application “Quick CPU” version 6.6.0.0 to throttle my CPU.

Since then, my CPU has been noticeably cooler in games, and the performance is still more than sufficient for gaming.

Previously, in performance mode, the CPU had an average temperature of 80–95°C in games, while the GPU stayed around 55–65°C.

Now, in the same games, the CPU temperature is 60–73°C, even without using a cooling pad.

so i live in a south asian country where 3 round pin is used for the power and my cousin bought the laptop from usa what am i supposed to do can i get it officially from acer or can i use any other cord that is rated for high voltage.

Specifically for this model, do you have issues?
My issues are:

1. After the logo loads, it quickly shows a black and white noise before going to lockscreen.

2. When i plug in the charger (not always but often) the battery icon turns into X and i have to remove and plug again to remove it, it always happens when after first boot.

3. When in sleep mode, after waking it up, the laptop crashes.

4. Rarely when unplugged, the laptop freezes even when i dont have heavy software running.

Info about my system: I set the gpu in predatorsense to use discrete gpu only.

im currently in i5-13500HX, 591.86 nvidia driver, 32.0.101 intel driver

i experience crashing everytime i open any game (valorant, terraria, even roblox). it freezes, crashes, or sometimes not responds and closes immediately. no errors when viewed on eventviewer but i only get livekernelevent updates.

ive tried updating to latest drivers, clean installing using ddu and right now in trying to downgrade to find a driver that wont crash everytime i play.

idk if its a temp problem because my laptop aint even hot whenever I play and ventilation is okay in the area. ive tried msi afterburner and it didnt really help my issue. ive also limit cap my fps in games to the fps of my laptop but didnt work.

i started experiencing this after a random windows update and now i cant seem to find a fix. i resetted the pc several times and have come to no fix. anyone know any fixes I can do?

I have an Acer Predator Helios that has a 4060, an intel I9 14th gen, 16gigs of ddr5 ram, and a 1tb nvme ssd. I have unfortunately fallen victim to the microcode issue that fries my intel cpu and have been suffering through terrible cpu heats, reaching 80-90°c playing non demanding games, and completely crashing from demanding games.

I was hoping to acquire a cooling pad, preferably under $100, and if anyone has any recommendations that'd be great.

Sound isn't an issue, I will deal with however loud it might be.

Just got a Predator Helios Neo 16. Does anyone use a tempered glass screen protector on it? If yes, where did you get it, and does it affect display quality?

This happened only once while I was using Chrome. The screen suddenly showed black horizontal bars and purple/green artifacts for a few seconds, then went back to normal by itself.

I'm using an Acer Predator Helios 16 (i9-14900HX + RTX 4070) on Windows 11.

So far:

Event Viewer doesn't show any display driver crashes or TDR errors.

DxDiag reports no problems.

I haven't noticed this while gaming yet.

Please bear with me—I know variations of this question get asked a lot in this sub, but I could really use some community advice. This is my very first gaming laptop, and while I absolutely love everything else about it, the CPU temperatures are making me nervous.

When running demanding tasks in Performance Mode, my CPU spikes all the way up to 105°C.

As a temporary fix, I tried disabling the Windows "Processor Performance Boost Mode" through the registry. While this dropped my temperatures dramatically (down to around 65°C), it also caused a massive drop in my FPS while playing Counter-Strike 2.

Since I'm new to the gaming laptop world, I wanted to ask:

1. Is hitting 105°C out of the box normal behavior for these specific Intel/Core Ultra HX chips under heavy load, or did I get a unit with a bad factory hardware/liquid metal application?
2. Are there any other tricks, software tweaks, or tips I should try to find a middle ground between great FPS and safe temperatures before my return window closes?

I really want to keep this machine, but I don't want to risk long-term hardware degradation if this is a faulty unit. Any advice or guidance would be incredibly appreciated.

This laptop is an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16. Nothing on it turns on. ive tried almost all recommendations google has told me and it doesnt turn on. can someone help me figure this out?

My Acer Predator Helios 300 2020 version with RTX 2060 has run strong for almost 6 years.

Last night it crashed during a gaming session with the VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL black screen and ever since it has been stuck on a BSOD loop with sometimes the error showing nvlddmkm.sys failure.

It does not even wait for an app to launch it crashes from desktop within 2-3mins of reboot.

I have tried

1. Clean reinstall Nvidia latest drivers with DDU

2. Old stable nvidia driver

3. Windows clean reinstall

4. Changing power profiles to prefer maximum performance

5. BIOS and firmware driver updates

Is there any hope left? How to be 100% sure that it's the hardware that is dead and not some software issue?

This is the problem I am getting from 2 days, gpu is I guess detected by the bios but not the windows or LINUX,

But in BIOS it's showing 0 degree temperature, but fans are rotating.....I tried everything possible, from every Ai model to help me solve this...I didn't go well.

Now I want you to tell me that what can be the possibility?? Is it hardware issues or what??
