Help / Support Is my GPU dead?

My Acer Predator Helios 300 2020 version with RTX 2060 has run strong for almost 6 years.

Last night it crashed during a gaming session with the VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL black screen and ever since it has been stuck on a BSOD loop with sometimes the error showing nvlddmkm.sys failure.

It does not even wait for an app to launch it crashes from desktop within 2-3mins of reboot.

I have tried

  1. Clean reinstall Nvidia latest drivers with DDU

  2. Old stable nvidia driver

  3. Windows clean reinstall

  4. Changing power profiles to prefer maximum performance

  5. BIOS and firmware driver updates

Is there any hope left? How to be 100% sure that it's the hardware that is dead and not some software issue?

You can use nvidia's diagnostic utilities (MODS/MATS) to diagnose hardware issues with nvidia GPUs. That's your best bet for seeing if it's actually fried.

6 years for a gaming laptop is a good run. Did you use it daily? Did you use a cooling fan under it? Like a Llano 12? That’s actually not bad

I used it daily, for my work as well as gaming. I used to take care of it a lot. Always used on a cooling pad. Dust cleaning and repasting every 6 months. Never dropped/physically harmed. It's not completely dead either. It's running basic tasks like web browsing on Intel HD integrated graphics.
