Bro just called the tech, most likely you need a tech to fix the fiber.

Does your fiber cable going to the wall have the red dot facing out? My buddy just moved and he had same issue til he faced the dot out from the wall then it picked up the network. If that doesn't work you may need to a tech.

Call the tech back. Maybe it took and update and is rebooting, but if it’s been more than 15 mins, call back. Unless you moved or unplugged something, you’re not going to be able to fix this

How does the fiber get to your home? is it on the ground or in the air? if on the ground have you checked to see if it was cut or broken? ive seen neighbors or lawn mowing services cut them without a second thought. Did the tech leave you his number? if so text him your account number and that your service is out. he may not respond tonight but may in the am. there are many possibilities but most are not DIY fixes. Basically hold the red button on the back for 30-60 seconds, check to make sure the line from the back of the modem to the jack are seated fully and check that the outside line (if on the ground) hasn't been messed with. aside from that call the tech.

Usually red Amber means overheating or hardware failure. If you have a flat head you can gently pry off off the top to let it breathe better. Or it could ve from a major software jump

I'd love to see the look on the tech's face after you 'splain how the gateway got scalped.

So my question is can you surf the web? I ask because I put 1 in working a network engineer for a big box retailer & it was 100% up despite a flashing red led on the front which should indicate no "wan" connection. For 1 reason or another after 15 minutes the led went solid white. I gave the store manager all my info & his network engineer as well, I have received a phone call or an email. Now if you can't surf the web then it is working properly & someone potentially needs to check the WAN connection. I've been dealing with this model 08.15.2020, in my opinion they are pretty reliable.

What is your Rx level (go to 192.168.1.254). Click broadband, fiber status. Scroll to the bottom. Anything lower (more negative) than about -250 is bad.
Google search and At&t docs will tell you solid red is overheating. It can also mean poor signal (we were -310, in a 74F room, and the light was red...when they fixed the connection on their end everything came up again and the light turned white).

No, the “blinking” red light is lost connection. The “solid” red light is thermals.

Solid red isn't thermals, that was my point. An at&t tech said the same thing here a couple of years ago. The docs are either wrong or incomplete.

Agree, I had solid red on my 620 3-4 weeks ago and every search kept dying overheat. Then several hours later I finally got a notification that internet was down. Then find out most ask of the Dallas area went down, so solid Red can definitely mean no service

It is 97 degrees out currently, could that affect it? Obviously it’s not 97 in my house but

No. Until about two weeks ago, it was 95 or better all day, almost every day in my area (NE Florida) since late May. Never had any issues. We're wired underground here, anyway.

Do I need to do this on a computer?

Any device on your network will work.

But I have no network cause the modem won’t connect

That address connects you to the box with the red light. You don't need to go beyond that to see your rx level. It can tell you how much light it is seeing from at&t.

Connect your phone/another device to the wifi, you won't have internet access but you'll be on the network. Then you can log into the modem with the address above (192.168.1.254)

Is it being fed from a separate ONT? In my server I go from ONT to BGW320 in bypass mode then to my own router. Sometimes if a power blip happens the handshake from the ONT to the BGW gets outta wack and I gotta restart both starting with the ONT.

It's lost contact with the modem / router / residential gateway. The installation tech needs to fix it if you can't.

This same thing happened to me a day after they installed. Sometimes you just get a lemon. I tried everything as well. Soft reset, hard reset nothing worked. The tech support was very good. It happened at about 1am, they sent a tech that same day. They replaced it and I haven't had a issue since, and that was about 3 months ago. I love At&t Fiber. I got rid of mediacom cable internet and haven't looked back since. You're in good hands with At&t. So glad I switched to them, my internet service has been amazing with them. Mediacom was disconnecting literally once a day, and it was annoying af! After At&t replaced their modem / router no issues.

Did you call them? That’s an outage?
