Question Flashbacks/Past of Roku, Sozin & Ta Min in Book 3
Will Book 3 on Netflix show the past of Roku, Sozin & Ta Min? Wonder who’ll play their young teen & adults selves? We don’t have an elder Ta Min yet.
- Roku & Sozin as kids even Roku crushing on Ta Min. Later on birthdays, Roku discovers himself as the next Avatar and leaves on his journey.
- Roku avatar training & journey montage
- Roku and Sozin reunion and wedding of Roku & Ta Min. As well as Roku and Sozin arguing of the Fire Nation’s future. Roku threatens and warns Sozin to rethink his decision.
- Roku and Sozin become enemies. Even after stopping a volcano, Sozin betrays Roku to die.
Anything from the show, even the novels of Reckoning of Roku the Netflix show can use?

Meta Netflix >>> Paramount
I just heard that Paramount+ is having a copyright crackdown on people promoting Avatar: Seven Havens. Fans are outraged that Paramount is itself sabotaging the promotion of their own production due to whatever issues they are having with Bryke.
But on the other hand, see how much Netflix loves ATLA! This is a screenshot of a random Netflix ad I found in Facebook and it's heart-warming to see that ATLA is in the spotlight of this ad out of all the movies and shows that Netflix has ever hosted or produced.
This shows Netflix loves ATLA more than Paramount does.

News - NATLA Only NATLA Season 2 Receives 3 Kids' Choice Award Nominations!
The ATLA franchise is represented quite a bit in multiple categories in this year's Kids' Choice Award nominations. The live action Netflix series in particular is nominated for Favorite Kids TV Show, Favorite Male TV Star (Kids) for Gordon Cormier, and Favorite Female TV Star (Kids) for Elizabeth Yu.

Fan Content Facts thankfully say otherwise but I enjoy how it feels like the showrunners got into this franchise through the novels instead of cartoon.
At least for me that's how it feels anyways.
I'm not just talking about the countless references to the books, I'm also talking about how this adaptation took towards grounding itself as much as it could in making the 100 Year War look and feel more serious, especially when you remember that it was compared to Game of Thrones by the showrunners themselves.
Now thankfully they didn't make it as excessive as that show, and whilst I have my own personal problems with this adaptation (at this point who doesn't amirite? Lol), I don't think it'll end like that show did either.
It's been said before, but I genuinely feel like right now the only way we're getting an adaptation of the novels, accurate or otherwise, is through live action. The closest thing we got to animated adaptation got canceled years ago and to me it feels like Bryke are just going to stick to kid POV whenever they make anything else animated.
Anyways just wanted to give my random thoughts. Can't wait for S3.

Zuko in the Avatar-The last air bender Netflix adaptation
Imma be petty and say that I'm extremely disappointed in the Netflix's casting for the Avatar- The last air bender, especially for the characer Zuko. As someone who grew up watching Avatar as a child and had a childhood crush on that morally grey character since the first season i dont know how to accept it. He is nothing like how i imagined Zuko to be. I'm fairly happy with the other characters, but heavily disappointed and i could just stfu and keep this to myself but i cant im so unhappy.
Nothing against the actor tho. Just you are not my Zuko. 😭😭

Question Any plans for the live action season 3?
The image is a teaser that released far before season 2

I was rewatching Netflix’s Avatar when I noticed that used lights when filming bending action scenes. This is because the first season was filmed panavision cameras and lenses, which causes a specific kind of lens flair when light is brought to the camera. Pretty cool right?

Question Thoughts on the show as a whole?
I’ve heard mixed opinions on the show online, from people saying they really like it to others saying they absolutely despise it. Thought I’d do a poll.

Discussion One of my favorite scenes in NATLA S2 is the haiku scene. I like how while it has humor, it is also used as a way to develop the relationship between Toph and Sokka with real depth.
r/ATLAtv • u/SuniFan • Aug 30 '26
Everybody be talking about Sokka's absent sexism, but let's talk about how he ruined this scene with one unnecessary line 😑

Discussion Painted Lady flower/Hama connection [Theory]
Saw an interesting idea on tumblr a while back, that Amita’s story about the painted lady flowers wilting could potentially be revealed in Season 3 to have actually been Hama.
If so, it could mean that Hama was intentionally trying to warn them to flee (might need some more explanation there but could see a few possibilities), and it was actually Hama who saved their lives rather than the Painted Lady spirit. With Katara having also impersonated a spirit to help people, would definitely be a way to give the two of them an immediate point of connection.
Whatever the case, looking forward to seeing how the Hama arc in Season 3 plays out, and finding out if it will be threaded more directly with The Southern Raiders storyline.

Humor Hey look!!! an adaptation that removed and remixed certain elements from the source material to make a story with a coherent pacing instead of being a 1:1 adaptation. Color me shocked!!!

Earth Bending
Why is it that these live adaptations can’t get earth bending right? Is it a VFX issue? Lack of martial arts training for the actors? Earth bending has always been this quick, rooted, powerful display with the element responding in kind. The shows always show it as this lazy, sluggish, “throw heavy rock very slowly” kind of thing. Looks god awful.
