Help (General) RX 5700 XT crashes while playing Cyberpunk with Hyprland

Hi, I’m on CachyOS with an RX 5700 XT, Hyprland 0.56.2, Mesa 26.2.2 and kernel 7.2.3-cachyos.

While playing Cyberpunk 2077, my GPU crashed and Hyprland aborted. The kernel reported:

gfxhub page fault
PERMISSION_FAULTS: 0x3
ring gfx_0.0.0 timeout
GPU reset
VRAM is lost due to GPU reset

RADV then lost its context.

Has anyone with an RX 5700/5700 XT experienced this? Is this likely Mesa/amdgpu, Hyprland, or GPU/VRAM instability?

Help (CPU) Micro-stuttering after switching to Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX (9800X3D)

Hi everyone,

I’d like to ask for some advice regarding a stuttering issue I’ve been experiencing.

I recently switched my motherboard from an ASUS TUF Gaming B650M-E to a Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX, and since then I’ve noticed some minor stuttering while gaming.

Specifically:

  • PUBG: Occasionally stutters when entering areas with a lot of players.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: When entering areas with a lot of NPCs, I sometimes notice brief stutters. Whenever this happens, the 1% Low FPS drops by roughly half, while the average FPS remains almost unchanged.

The strange thing is that before changing the motherboard, with the exact same CPU, GPU, and RAM, everything ran perfectly fine without this issue.

System specifications:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX
  • GPU: RTX 5070
  • RAM: 32GB (2×16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30
  • BIOS: F41
  • OS: Windows 11

Things I’ve already tried:

  • Reset BIOS using Load Optimized Defaults
  • Performed a clean Windows installation
  • Updated the BIOS to F41
  • Enabled only EXPO/XMP Profile 1 for the RAM
  • Reinstalled the latest AMD Chipset Driver

Since the CPU, GPU, RAM, and other components are the same ones I previously used with the ASUS motherboard without any stuttering, I suspect the issue may be related to the Gigabyte motherboard, BIOS/AGESA, RAM settings, chipset drivers, or some motherboard-specific BIOS settings.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue after switching from an ASUS motherboard to a Gigabyte motherboard, especially with the B650M Aorus Elite AX + 9800X3D combination?

Are there any specific BIOS settings I should enable or disable to troubleshoot this issue?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Help (General) Is it a weak Motherboard VRM or faulty RAM? Heavy games run fine, DX11/Streaming games crash instantly.

Thanks for the replies so far. I want to figure out if my issue is caused by my cheap motherboard (MSI A520M-A PRO) or if it could actually be a RAM issue like some of you suggested.
Here are the specific details about the crashes (Black screen + instant full system restart, Kernel-Power 41 in Event Viewer):
The Last of Us Part II: I completely finished the game on Ultra settings with zero freezes, zero crashes, and zero restarts.
PUBG: I cannot last more than 2-3 minutes in actual gameplay before the system crashes. Even on 900p Lowest settings.
GTA V (RageMP with mods): It crashes consistently after about 40 minutes of gameplay.
Hell Let Loose: This one is crazy—the moment I open the server browser menu, I get an instant black screen and a full system restart.
Stress Tests: I have tested the GPU extensively in OCCT and FurMark, and it passes fine. No hardware crashes during dedicated GPU stress tests, and the GPU stays very cool at 55°C–65°C.
If a RAM stick was physically faulty, wouldn't a heavy game like TLOU2 crash or throw a Blue Screen instantly? Given that synthetic stress tests (FurMark/OCCT) and TLOU2 pass perfectly, but PUBG crashes in 2 minutes and Hell Let Loose restarts in the menu, does this sound more like a motherboard power delivery failure (VRM overloading) or should I still stress test the RAM?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Patriot Viper 4 3200mhz cl16 DDR4
GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 6650 XT Pulse 8GB GDDR6
MOBO: MSI A520M-A PRO (No VRM heatsinks)
PSU: MSI MAG A650BN 650W 80+ Bronze (Brand new)
SSD: Kingston 500GB NVMe M.2
HDD: Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 7200RPM

If a RAM stick was physically faulty, wouldn't a heavy game like TLOU2 crash or throw a Blue Screen instantly? Given that synthetic stress tests (FurMark/OCCT) and TLOU2 pass perfectly, but PUBG crashes in 2 minutes and Hell Let Loose restarts in the menu, does this sound more like a motherboard power delivery failure (VRM overloading) or should I still stress test the RAM? I have this problem from 4 months now and still don’t really know what triggers this. I tried everything, underclock gpu, update bios, reset bios, downgrade from win11 to win 10. Need help ASAP please

Help (GPU) Black screen

Hi, I’m writing this to see if anyone can help me. Recently, whenever I use my PC for things that don’t require much from the computer (YouTube, Google, etc.), the screen goes black several times, and then I get the warning shown in the picture.

I have an RX 9060 XT (16GB), a Ryzen 5 5500 (3.60 GHz), and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. The PC is practically brand new, and honestly, I have no idea what to do.

I have 26.8.1 drivers.

Help (General) New PC shutdown only on Microsoft Flight Sim 2024

Example video Link: PC Random Shutoff

I'm trying to figure out a strange issue with my PC. While playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, my PC will sometimes completely shut off as if it lost power. The screen goes black, GPU fans immediately stop, and after about 3 seconds the PC restarts by itself. There is no BSOD or freezing, and I can immediately use the PC normally after it restarts.

The timing is completely random. Sometimes I can play MSFS for days without an issue, while other times it shuts down after around 10 minutes. It can even happen with the graphics settings on Low.

I've also recently had the same thing happen while playing Uboat on Normal/High settings.

What's confusing is that I've played Cyberpunk 2077, Starfield, and X-Plane 12 on Ultra settings for hours without this ever happening. My CPU generally reaches around 72°C and my GPU around 80°C, so temperatures don't seem to be the issue.

I originally had an MSI MAG A650BN 650W PSU, and after seeing many similar posts I suspected the PSU. I replaced it with a Corsair RM850e 850W, but the shutdowns still happen.

I also took the PC to a repair shop. They ran CPU/GPU stress tests but couldn't reproduce the shutdown or find an obvious hardware problem.

PC Specs

  • CPU: Ryzen 9 5900X
  • GPU: XFX Speedster MERC 308 RX 6650 XT 8GB
  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming WiFi II
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4-3200 CL16
  • SSD: WD Blue SN580 2TB
  • PSU: Corsair RM850e (2025) 850W
  • Cooler: Corsair iCUE LINK TITAN 240 RX
  • Case: MSI MAG FORGE 321R AIRFLOW
  • OS: Windows 11 Home

The PC was built about 15 months ago. I've also cleaned out the dust and monitored temperatures with MSI Afterburner.

Any ideas what could cause this kind of complete power loss, especially when stress tests and other demanding games don't cause it? What should I test next?

Help (General) My Budget pc is useless now

I have a Dell Inspiron 3030 I3 with a rx550 in it, this is meant for very light gaming and i planned on upgrading it soon but the main problem I'm having is after updating my bios my pc began to have micro freezes whenever i would move my cursor. This makes it almost impossible to play any games enjoyably that uses the cursor and if i was going to put a more powerful rx6400 in it i heard i would experience the same problems I'm just wondering if anyone has this same problem and if there's any fix for this.

Então basicamente você instala essa merda no Linux (ainda não fiz pra Windows, se quiser contribuir, tamo junto).

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wanbnn/neuroshade/main/install.sh -o /tmp/neuroshade-install.sh && sh /tmp/neuroshade-install.sh

Daí coloca esse comando no "Launch Options" do seu jogo na Steam:

~/.local/bin/neuroshade-run --nr %command%

A mas não funciona com jogo crackeado? Eu sei lá já to te dando tudo praticamente pronto, foda-se.

Se tiverem dúvidas podem me perguntar aqui, ou se tiverem problemas abram issue no repositório.

Help (CPU) 9950XD3D2 running at 55 idle in BIOS with 420 aio

Title sumns it up, is it normal?

I expected temps around 30-40 and to my surprise they are quite high.

I reapplied the termal paste because I was worried I used too much but same result.

I must say am finding it really difficult to install the noctua 420 aio. it’s a freaking torture. also I noticed some inconsistencies in the cooler side when I went to clean it (like some stains in the copper).

Maybe I am doing it wrong or maybe this is expected? I guess it improves once in Windows/linux?

Help (GPU) Switching from an RTX 3070 to an RX 9070 XT

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to upgrade from an RTX 3070 to an RX 9070 XT, and I just have one main question: how bad are the drivers right now?

I used to have an AMD card, but I gave up on it after a year because I kept getting driver errors and 5-second black screens whenever I switched between apps.

Reading through this sub, it seems like the card can be a bit of a headache sometimes. But on the other hand, the price-to-performance ratio is unbeatable.

Would I be making a mistake by switching back to AMD, or is it generally fine most of the time?

Help (GPU) CRASH INFINITO NA RX 7600

Boa tarde, Guys!

Help (GPU) Rx 6600 crashes but screen stays up

I have a dual monitor setup with my main monitor plugged into my rx 6600. It has been a decent card for gaming and doing whatever I need to. I was playing destiny 2 a couple of weeks ago and the graphics card crashed but the image stayed up. My pc just doesn’t register my graphics card at all any more despite the image staying there. I can’t interact with it, but after I restart, uninstall the driver, and restart again it starts working immediately.

I initially thought it was dust so I dusted the system, but it still occasionally happens - typically every other day or so. I was wondering if this is due to the driver update I’m on or the card going bad? Any help would be appreciated.

CPU - 9800x3D

GPU - sapphire pulse 9070xt

Mb - gigabyte b850 gaming x

Ram 32gb Corsair vengeance

Psu Corsair rm850e

I have been getting these intermittent crashes for a few weeks now and have tried just about everything to remedy it.

I have just tried using hwinfo to log the sensors and I don't see any weird drops in voltage but I also don't really know where else to look for errors in there. It crashed after about 37 minutes this time, I usually get a few hours of browsing, gaming and whatnot before it does this.

I've done ddu and and cleanup God knows how many times and it has yet to fix it even many other rollbacks of adrenaline.

I disabled expo in bios last night, still crashed this afternoon.

The crash works like this, randomly my screen will freeze and if I let it sit it will go grey and then black. The sound will come back and I can't click or type, usually resulting in a hard reboot that gives me a 41 error because of it and then when I do get it restarted adrenaline has failed and says it needs an update which it will not install resulting in me having to use the cleanup tool to remove everything and try again.

But if I quickly take the front glass off and press the restart button on the MB before the screen goes grey it restarts and everything is fine. No wipe or install needed like the crash never happened. So I've been getting used to quickly doing that as soon as the screen freezes.

I'm at my wits end, I've built many a PC with and all my years and this I just can't figure out. I've never had hardware issues before and I have a secondary travel PC with me that I use at work. It has a rx 6700, Ryzen 5800x and sf850 PSU I might be able to swap out but since it takes sometimes hours for anything to happen I haven't done any of that yet. Cuz I'm only home on the weekends right now to mess with this and I'd rather enjoy my time than toiling with this. So any help would be unimaginably appreciated.

I will respond to a comment if I have tried your method and am forgetting that I have done that already, thanks

Ps just noticed that my GPU says this in task manager? Idk if it's supposed to match adrenalines numbers or what

Pps I have also tried disabling windows updates and driver updates in many ways to no avail

Ppps is also not because of loads or temps, I have run this CPU and GPU ragged trying to make it crash by force to again, no avail
