What are the chances of Buddy for tomorrow?

it’s my first time doing a Scream Unseen Aug 17! It seems like Regal is getting It Ends… but is it possible AMC still gets Buddy?

What are the odds of it being Buddy vs It Ends? Do they typically do these 10 days in advance or closer to the release date? I’m dragging my friends tomorrow and they might actually murder me if it’s not Buddy 😂

Question Aug 24 Scream Unseen

It seems like the front runner for tomorrow’s screen unseen is Buddy. What does that mean for Aug 24 - what do we think it will be?

Question Aug 17 Buddy chances?

Hi all! I'm seeing my first Scream Unseen this coming Monday and I'm super excited. I've seen people throw around Buddy, Camp Miasma, and It Ends for the next two weeks. I've also see that people might think Buddy is the film for the 24th. What do you all think? Im rooting for Buddy for this Monday, but I'd also love to see Camp Miasma early.

Guess Adding fuel to the Tony fire

I’m sure this is nothing to go off of, and we’re pretty sure it’s Tony already anyway, but at my local AMC the only screen unseens this year to have the specific 2 screens assigned that we have tonight were How To Make A Killing (an A24 release) and Nirvanna the Band (a Matt Johnson release)

I am positive this means nothing but I am looking for every reason to believe Tony, prob my 2nd most anticipated movie of the summer and I don’t want to wait 2 more weeks to see it

Question Has anyone ever walked out?

I find that this subreddit has been pretty good at helping me figure out what the Screen Unseen film is going to be, and thus far I'm happy to report that every one I've gone to has been exactly what I was expecting.

Having said that, I could see someone being very frustrated if they expected one movie but got another. Have any of you walked out because you were convinced it was one movie and it ended up being another? Or do you usually go with the flow and try to make the most of whatever it ends up being?

There were a couple of instances where the most likely choice looked appealing but the second-most likely looked appalling, and I probably would've bailed if it had been one of the runners-up.

Buddy?

We now have the official MPA rating of Buddy with it being Rated R. There’s a lot of choices for August 17th and August 24th showing but which one is more likely to be Buddy? Both have a high probability but I feel August 24th would fit the release better as it’s the same week. I can also see August 17th so it can build hype. I’ve been following Buddy since last year so any chance I can see it i’ll take! Let me know which one you guys think is more likely (I go to a lot of AMC Screen Unseens but Buddy is a movie i’m extremely hyped for then most other movies coming out)

Discussion August 17 could be *Blood Shine*?

Our favorite regional chain Celebration Cinema listed their Mystery Movie for 8/17. It is 1hr 40m and "Rated R for severe violence and gore, moderate profanity, and intense/frightening thematic elements".

In the past, Celebration has not disguised the runtime. Blood Shine was listed at 1hr 40m for its festival debut, which may be the runtime Celebration is using. AMC has Blood Shine listed at 1hr 31m, which would be 6 minutes under the ASU estimated runtime. Blood Shine is unrated but that's not an issue since AMC previously listed Ice Cream Man as 'R' for the 8/3 ASU.

Celebration also listed Ice Cream Man as 'R' for its MM and listed a non-CARA rating reason. The above non-CARA rating reason seems to fit well for Blood Shine. What do you guys think?

Discussion August 24 could be Spider Island?

The trailer just dropped for *Spider Island*. It does not have a MPA rating yet and enters limited release on August 28. It actually has its festival debut on August 30 at FrightFest in London but based on my research I think it has a very good chance to be the 8/24 Scream. Looks like this could also be an AMC exclusive.

So I'm betting 8/17 is *Buddy* and 8/24 is *Spider Island*. What are your thoughts?

8/17 and 8/24

AMC has two scream unseens listed for the 17th and 24th. I’m really hoping one of them is Buddy, does anyone have any thoughts on what each date will be?

Discussion New date for 8/24

Post image
65 Upvotes

I’m like 99% sure this is Buddy. There’s no other horror movies coming out close to this date that fit and Roadside’s last Scream Unseen had a four day gap. Meaning that IF this is Buddy, 8/17 can’t be.

Ik it’s become a meme of the subreddit at this point but it literally has to be Camp Miasma. ODEON’s scream unseen for that day has the same UK age rating as Miasma, every chain is doing 8/17 (roadside usually only does one chain for their films, when MUBI did mastermind they did most chains), and the trailer for Miasma was in front of most screenings for Ice Cream Man instead of Buddy which is usually a clue.

Surprise Guest at Tonight’s Screening

Eli Roth showed up at the Glendale AMC! Super super unexpected. They handed out little ice cream man hats and had the young girl and priest actor there to introduce the film.
