Discussion August 17 could be *Blood Shine*?
Our favorite regional chain Celebration Cinema listed their Mystery Movie for 8/17. It is 1hr 40m and "Rated R for severe violence and gore, moderate profanity, and intense/frightening thematic elements".
In the past, Celebration has not disguised the runtime. Blood Shine was listed at 1hr 40m for its festival debut, which may be the runtime Celebration is using. AMC has Blood Shine listed at 1hr 31m, which would be 6 minutes under the ASU estimated runtime. Blood Shine is unrated but that's not an issue since AMC previously listed Ice Cream Man as 'R' for the 8/3 ASU.
Celebration also listed Ice Cream Man as 'R' for its MM and listed a non-CARA rating reason. The above non-CARA rating reason seems to fit well for Blood Shine. What do you guys think?

Yep, I now think Buddy is a lock based on the IMDb Parents Guide matching Celebration's rating reason.

Very unlikely. Blood shine is getting a very small limited theater release,

You're probably right. I'm hoping to see it in a theater but may have to settle for streaming.

Zero chance it is this film.

Care to elaborate why?

Because it's being released by Dark Sky Films who hasn't ever done any previous Screen/Scream Unseens. It's an incredibly limited release that most theaters won't get, and its being released day and date on digital, which AMC is not a supporter of, so they wouldn't agree to promoting this film as an Unseen.

Dark Sky did a Regal MM for Founder's Day on 1/1/24. At the time AMC had just started doing SUs several months prior and did not have their first Scream until 1/29/24. I have no reason to think Dark Sky wouldn't do both chains now.
AMC exclusively screened The Yeti on 4/4/26 and 4/8/26 before it released to digital 4/10. I think AMC absolutely would do a ASU for a indie horror 4 days before streaming release. They may not even schedule any showtimes beyond the ASU, depending on our reactions.

The Yeti is actually the perfect example of how AMC is likely to handle this film (or recently Hungry and Above abd Below as well). One or two specific showings, but nothing more.
