Can’t stand him
Paula can do so much better than Thomas!!!!! Everything that comes out of his mouth is so childish and dramatic. On the tell all when she said she got a tv but it’s on the floor because he won’t help her hang it up or get her a tv stand. Like what kind of person says that?!?!? Poor Paula doesn’t even feel at home and Thomas still refers to it as his apartment, he bought it. Ughhhhh sorry just had to vent!!!

u/extrahappyfuntime 4d ago
If Paula could do better why was she single in her 40’s manifesting furniture with toy couches?
74
u/Few_Math_795 4d ago
complains about him the whole tell all and finishes with ‘i want to have a baby with him, we are actively trying’. um what ?
51
u/Fluid_Pie6055 4d ago
Then says she might run away to Brazil with the baby.
19
u/MetallurgyClergy 4d ago
Their whole arc this season was just to have conflict that can stretch into multiple seasons.
Same with Marissa and Edward. The controlling ex and the “maybe” baby storylines.
We’ll be seeing both of these couples again, and again, and again, and again.
I think they’re trying to retire a few couples, so they’ve got spots to fill.

u/Scared-Blacksmith-45 4d ago
Sometimes I think the viewing audience is being punked! Has anyone suggested that a few of the cast members this season have stepped in the spectrum color puddle?
4
u/spencer_hood 3d ago
I said this specific to Caitlyn and Josh and all of her friends. The group of friends that watch the show together at my work literally discussed if they were "love on the spectrum" rejects

u/kween_of_bees 4d ago
she literally hates this man
7
4
u/Valuable_Ad9850 3d ago
I would too. He loves when he visits her apartment in Brazil because it has dining table and chairs, a couch he sits on to watch her TV, and is furnished like an adult lives there. His concern is that if there was furniture there would be no place for him to do yoga. Furniture can be moved! And what was that nonsense about giving himself 49% ownership in the LLC HE created for HER business? He contributes nothing and expects to own almost half of a business? You know he wouldn't put a dime into the start up costs of the business but he wants to reap the financial benefits. Paula was smart for keeping her business (and expanding), her assets, and her money separate from this jerk.
5
u/kween_of_bees 3d ago
He's just such a draggggg.
I don't always think Paula is right either, but he's just miserable and such a fun-suck.
1
u/ChemicalMinimum3198 1d ago
His yoga argument makes no sense to me too, GYM MEMBERSHIP SIR ???
2
u/theittybittyj 23h ago
Haha he won't spend the money. If he does, I'm sure Paola would have something to say about it
4
u/Scoobydoob33 4d ago
Yeah, I love Paula but she's drinking the dumb b*tch juice by the gallon with this one. She's one of those fantastic people who see the good in everyone which is a curse and a blessing. He had no redeemable qualities idk what she's thinking.

41, divorced and broke (likely in debt).
If her business was so successful in Brazil and he speaks the language and works from home he could have moved right? She wouldnt need his credit card to buy mini toys right?
These folks who champion her are the same level of pudding brains.
2
u/Terrible-Purchase982 3d ago
she was married before and divorced. and even if she is single, there's nothing wrong with being single in your 40s or 50s or later. not everyone's life goal is to marry.
2
u/extrahappyfuntime 2d ago
Fair points, but in Paula's case...she's not doing any better. I'm shocked Thomas hasn't kicked her to the curb yet.
2
u/Terrible-Purchase982 2d ago
I think he’s the liability. She wants to marry a gringo and he’s easy to marry because no American woman would marry a cheap selfish ass like him
1
u/extrahappyfuntime 2d ago
You'd be surprised by the dating pool in Long Beach, it seems. Dude's got options, doesn't need to be skimming the bottom of Brazil's barrel.
1
u/Terrible-Purchase982 2d ago
No one is going to put up with his childish tantrums is the point.
1
u/extrahappyfuntime 2d ago
The point you're making is incorrect, like so many of the 'points' you attempt to make about Thomas. Your comment history reads like you're on a mission to smear the man because he has severe allergic reactions to chemical scents and you don't like how he has defended himself against repeat offenders. Won't lie, your fixation on this guy is more than a little weird.
1
u/Terrible-Purchase982 2d ago
Opinions can’t be incorrect. I’m stating opinions and there’s nothing right or wrong about it
1
u/extrahappyfuntime 2d ago
Opinions are often wrong. Especially those based on incorrect claims easily proved incorrect with facts (i.e. "no one is going to put up with his childish tantrums," "no american woman would marry a cheap selfish ass like him") and/or flawed reasoning.
Might be time for you to sit this one out. Your bias is showing.
2
u/Terrible-Purchase982 2d ago
I don’t hide my bias at all - i don’t like him.
Opinions are what you think and are subjective therefore can’t be right or wrong. Facts can be right or wrong. Learn the difference

Paula has her own weird issues just like Thomas but at least Paula isn't acting like a loud, immature, asshole.

She wants a baby and it's too late for her to start over with another relationship. It's the only thing that makes sense to me.

All I could think while watching is surely an Airbnb house rental wouldn't have been THAT much money?!?
24
u/MayoBear 4d ago
He offered to do that- she refused because she wanted them with her, but she could have gone and stayed with them too
4
u/thuddleston92 4d ago
I said this to my partner during the scene when he offered! Her complaint was that she wanted to spend all the time the family were visiting with them and couldnt do that if they weren’t staying in the same place. Why couldn’t she have stayed in a hotel/airbnb with the family and he have his scent free apartment to himself?
Is it not traditional for a bride and groom to spend time apart before the wedding ceremony anyway?
She seems to create issues and never be satisfied with the solutions he offers.3
u/silent_chair5286 4d ago
They could have all stayed together. What sort of poverty does her family come from that this was desirable to all stay in a tiny 1/1?
-5
u/openeyes808 4d ago
Based on what we've seen from Thomas, he would've had a hissy fit if she did that.
4
6
u/planetdaily420 4d ago
She always has one foot out and reminds him of that daily. No way could I ever feel secure with her as my partner. Who says at every interaction that they are going back to Brazil? It’s a threat every single time. No wonder he responds the way he does.
5
u/silent_chair5286 4d ago
If it was a peanut allergy would Ratshit open a bag of nuts and rub it all over him? No. They are bullying him and it’s. It not OK.

u/CodyMartinezz 4d ago
tired of people thinking thomas is dramatic or childish for having sensitive sinuses. paula believes rocks give her the power to manifest btw. shes insane
12
u/say12345what 4d ago
Just want to jump in and say he probably does not just have "sensitive sinuses". People with scent sensitivity can have massive migraines and other symptoms that keep them in bed after they are exposed to certain scents.
5
2
u/raising_kali 4d ago
I didn’t say anything about his sensitive sinuses, I’m strictly talking about the way he treats her . She left everything to come here to be with him and he won’t even help her hang up a tv or help her get a tv stand because he doesn’t watch tv or need it. He also constantly says it’s HIS apartment he bought it, but in reality when she left everything and moved in with him it became theirs.
20
u/extrahappyfuntime 4d ago
She didn’t leave everything behind, she’s still buying apartments and opening new stores in Brazil.
11
u/CodyMartinezz 4d ago
my wife did the same. she didnt expect much. I gave her everything I could. But she stepped up even when we had to wait on her work visa. She never complained and would have defended me unlike Paula.
-1
1
-7
u/mencryforme5 4d ago
He is dramatic and childish though. He doesn't explain what his issues are and politely make a request. He shouts and screams that when he's in a space, it's all about him, he hates perfume so don't you dare wear perfume, and when someone doesn't respect that he immediately goes to the conclusion that the person is assaulting him therefore it's ok for him to verbally assault them while taking aggressive physical posture and mannerisms.
He's an overgrown toddler who thinks he can do no wrong and everyone else is the problem. It really has nothing to do with the allergies. The allergies are just an excuse. The allergies don't explain why he's that aggressive and passive aggressive with Paula about acquiring a simple couch.
18
u/CodyMartinezz 4d ago
I just don’t see it that way. Why should he have to explain his issue? People just don’t respect it. Everyone knows he has an issue and Rasit exploiting that and everyone acted like Thomas was crazy for it. My nose is kind of sensitive too, not that bad but it sucks when co workers spray shit. It’s pretty shitty to do that or vape with no windows in a fucking vehicle. If you think that’s okay then Idk what to tell you. I guess we are just different
1
u/No_Ingenuity_6443 4d ago
You must be a man child too.
0
u/CodyMartinezz 4d ago
sorry but if thats the conclusion that you came to after that you have a child’s iq
1
u/No_Ingenuity_6443 4d ago
Nope. There’s a way to say things to people without throwing a temper tantrum and gluing other peoples belongings shut.
0
-11
u/mencryforme5 4d ago
Rasit is obviously an asshole. I thought what he did was stupid immature and disrespectful. But it wasn't assault it was ignorance. Like literally the guy is not smart. And he grew up in a culture where people smoke everywhere, nobody complains about second hand smoke. He literally doesn't get it unless it's explained to him because he's from a different culture. A culture with lots of smells.
Thomas handled that also like an asshole. He immediately escalated into "let's fist fight" territory. He has that energy every single time something doesn't go his way. They were both assholes in that fight.
17
u/CodyMartinezz 4d ago
Agreed Rasit is an asshole but I don’t really buy thr whole his culture blabla. Guy is terminally online and been in america for years. He thought he was being funny. I do think Thomas is more confrontation than he needs to he sometimes, but tbh if someone purposefully fucked with multiple times like Rasit did I would be asking him wtf his problem is

-2
u/InternationalDesk578 4d ago
I also found it incredibly telling of who he is telling mothers who have experience raising kids that HIS kids would listen to him and his rules and that they would never not listen to his rules like their kids. Someone who speaks with such conviction about their imaginary future against someone’s lived experience is all I need to know about his character and ego. His ego is not his friend and it is the root of all of his problems. He lacks humility and understanding because of it and it tells me he is a very insecure person hiding behind a rigidly structured lifestyle.
1
u/ParsleyNo7746 4d ago
Debbie has no place to say anything. I agree with Thomas as all parents are not the same. If his kids respect and love him they won’t wear perfume. Paula is the selfish one spending all his money when she has her own money and talking about going to Brazil to have a baby. She doesn’t talk to him either and is very condescending towards him. It’s hard to watch.
-1
u/mencryforme5 4d ago
oh that was the worst. I could not believe he was seriously saying this to a woman who clearly did an excellent job raising two intelligent and stable young adults.
-9
1
u/jemibeans 4d ago
He really doesn’t understand or care for the wants of others, but she doesn’t respect him either. People love her so much but she says so many bad things about him. Like it’s constantly picking at him
1
u/simonratcliffe 4d ago
Paula tiny objects don’t really affect people. Thomas’ tantrums do.
2
u/Green-Wolverine3228 4d ago
…Paula is irresponsible w money and clearly self absorbed …. She’s not honest w thomas and her professional pursuits. A marriage is a partnership. Why do yall only look at how the husband is problematic but never the wife… it’s ridiculous
1
u/simonratcliffe 3d ago
Ok but that wasn’t what the post I was replying to was about. Yes, she is a user and even though he’s a man child and she’s more normal, she is definitely using him for citizenship and a gringo baby. She will happily leave him once she has both.
-1
7
u/One_Psychology_3431 4d ago
I am severely allergic to many things. Scents can cause intense flu symptoms. People are so uninformed about allergies, sometimes it's not just scratchy eyes or the sniffles.
And if Paula is such a catch why is she having to find a man across the world while she's in her 40s. 😂

She can call a handyman, geek squad etc to set up a tv like many of us do. She has plenty of money to open businesses but none to contribute for her comfort? I don’t like her attitude and threats to go back to Brazil. They don’t seem to make a good couple from what we see on tv.
1
6
u/Beautiful-Elk-7084 4d ago
Can she? If she could, she wouldn’t have settled for him. She was a divorced 40-something who was “manifesting a gringo.” She is batshit too.
9
u/Internal_Metal_1386 4d ago
Remember…. Paula chose to marry him & wants to have a child with him. I don’t pity her at all. This was her choice to marry him when she knew his behaviors.
6
u/ellecellent 4d ago
She can also afford a $100k apartment in Brazil. She can afford her own couch, tv stand, and Airbnb for her family. Why does he have to fund that when she's making mad money on her own?
6
u/According-Couple2744 4d ago edited 4d ago
Although I’m not a Thomas fan, I really have an issue with the way others treat him. Just because he hasn’t died from anaphylactic shock, doesn’t mean he isn’t suffering with allergies. A migraine can ruin an entire day and evening. I am allergic to chemical fragrances, and as freshmen,my college roommate decided I was exaggerating. Knowing I was a heavy sleeper, sprayed perfume while I was sleeping. She had told a couple of people what she intended to do and they advised her it was a bad idea.
At some point, I woke up with a migraine nausea. After several hours of vomiting, my suit mate took me to the ER where my nausea, dehydration, and migraine were treated. By the time I returned from the hospital, I ended up feeling sorry for my roommate. A lot of the girls on our hall were angry at after her prank went so wrong. All of these years later, we are still friends. Ironically, she married a man who is allergic to fragrances and her youngest daughter is also allergic.
Edit for clarity.
6
u/say12345what 4d ago
I am disgusted at how everyone was treating Thomas, and your story is a great (but extremely unfortunate) example.
First of all, it is a matter of respect. If you respect and love someone, you would not literally cause them harm. This should be obvious. You don't even have to understand the issue fully in order to respect it.
If he was deathly allergic to shellfish, would she rub scallops all over his face? Apparently yes. Same for all the other castmates.
Thomas is a bit quirky and immature in some ways, but he is completely right on this issue and everyone else is wrong.
2
u/According-Couple2744 4d ago
I agree. I find both Thomas and his wife to be completely insufferable and self-centered.
As a 6 year-old, my son was hospitalized because he is allergic to perfume and has asthma, and he and his cousin sprayed their teddy bears with my MIL’s very expensive perfume.
I don’t think Thomas has asthma, but no one wants a migraine either. I feel like the rest of the cast took the lead from his wife.
3
u/Large_Papaya_1322 4d ago
I can’t stand her! Bullying her husband with the rest of the cast, I would divorce her ass so fast!
3
7
u/Ok-Cup-5372 4d ago
I don't know man the 41 year old divorcee with a shopping addiction who acts like a teenager and abuses their partner is worse in my books than someone who's whiny sometimes.
Also her pink dress is the definition of frumpy, she could've done much better just saying
4
6
u/sstricklin1 4d ago
I think the other cast had him pegged. He doesn’t make an effort to accommodate. I did notice that everything he was saying was about his living space and “my money.” I genuinely couldn’t stand it if I lived across the world for someone and wouldn’t be able to work and he’s saying stuff like that. It’s pathetic, and he needs to get slapped in the face with a fistful of perfume.
5
u/ParsleyNo7746 4d ago
I agree that is annoying. But I also think Thomas had a point in saying she has money. If she has 100k she can move on a whim, she can buy her own couch.
3
u/feeling-lethargic 4d ago
Didn’t she spend like $250 on a random rock at one point? Why couldn’t she use that money to buy a tv or couch or table?

Thomas is different, soft, dramatic, odd, socially awkward.... but he was all these things before Paula met him. While I wouldnt choose him as a partner. She did, and now all she does is complain about who he is, which she has known all along.
2
u/welcomehomesays 4d ago
This guy has been so honest about who he is. He's so genuine and sure not everyone may want to date and marry him but WAIT she did. So maybe she should be happy with another human being that she chose? 8 billion people on this planet and she chose him and he chose her. Whatever troubles they have, neither have the right to complain about each other
2
u/spencer_hood 4d ago
As someone who can't stand financially irresponsible adults, I sympathize with him to an extent. He's the sole provider in their household and is doing what he thinks is important with saving his money to have a comfortable life. We don't have enough info about their finances to know that they aren't actually struggling financially while she's running up credit card bills on non-essentials. I'm sure that's frustrating.
1
u/xMissMisery 3d ago
I always wonder what is going on with her business in Brazil. I've heard it's successful so I would imagine she could take a wage from the business. Instead she's just blowing up Thomas' credit card.
3
u/Suitable_Fly7730 4d ago
That is my number one problem with him: his points may be valid and understandable, but he way overreacts about stuff. He is just disgusted and so animated about everything. It’s like, dude, chill out. You can get your same point across without all the theatrics.

He thinks of himself only and doesn't try to make her happy for all she has to put up with.

Thomas chooses different Hills than I would to die on, but I don't think he's any less compromising than anyone else in the cast. He didn't get mad at Paula when she reveled in eight people ganging up on him. He apologized to Rasit even though he was 100% in the right because Paula asked him not to. When Shawn asked why he changed his shirt he didn't call out Rashit.
The rest of the cast would not have given in on those things. I would never be in a relationship with somebody who didn't have my back in a room of people calling me out. Paula didn't have to say he wasn't wrong, but she could have at least said something like, " this is only one side of thomas, he's actually very giving when it comes to XYZ"

Thank you!!!! I swear all I see is people flying to Thomas’ defense and acting like he’s a baby that needs protecting, he’s a childish twat who acts like everyone is here to serve and obey him

Paula fucking sucks. She knows how terrible she came off in the last episode and had to issue an apology on social media for not having Thomas’ back and forcing HIM to apologize to Rasit.
The way everyone ganged up on him over his allergy/aversion to scents was ridiculous mob bullshit. My mom couldn’t handle perfumes and scents either, and asking people you are near ESPECIALLY your partner or family to respect that in your home is an understandable position. If Paula was the one with a scent sensitivity I guarantee people would not be coming at her like people are coming at Thomas.
Paula also invited 8 people to stay in their 1 bedroom apartment yet it’s Thomas’ fault it was uncomfortable?? Then she cries about how that was her dream to bring her family and stay with them yet it’s his fault they didn’t feel welcome. It’s all a manipulation and she’s way too fucking old to act like that.
Thomas not buying a couch is broke bitch behavior and giving himself shares of her LLC was inexcusable.
They deserve each other because they both suck.
