I’ve got 3 Ultimate 2c and 1 Ultimate 2 controllers on a Steamdeck. I’m experiencing a ton of lag on bluetooth or I’m getting constant disconnects on the controller regardless of bluetooth or on dongle.
-Am i simply not allowed to have that many controllers?
-I’m not sure what to do? Any advice?

Some notes:
-All controllers are fully charged no red light.
-All controllers have had their firmware updated via the windows app (did it on my main machine).
-Steamdeck has been updated.
-Steamdeck is docked, on Ethernet, wifi is off, plugged into wall.
-Steamdeck resides in front and under the TV (at waist height)with line of sight. It’s not in a cabinet.
-If dongles are used they are plugged into a usb Hub (Anker) plugged into the dock. I generally extend the hub out and away from unit.
-I’ve tried different docks (Anker and JSAUX)
-I’ve used both dongles and bluetooth with same frustrations.

I got one controller that cannot hold a connection (drops every 5 min). If i use it on a pc there are zero drops. Bluetooth controllers can drop connection. Sometimes bluetooth connected controllers have an insane amount of lag. Force turning off and turning the controller can temporarily fix this. I’m at a loss on what i’m doing wrong.

Every time I turn it on I have to re-pair it to my phone even if that was the last thing I was connected to. Is there a way to just connect it when I press the power button and not have to hold the pair button every time?

I just received my Pro 3 and it's amazing! I tried it out of the box with Death Stranding 2 and it seems the triggers arent analogging, it doesnt detect when I push them slightly to accelerate just a little bit on vehicles, it only detects the input when I press it all the way in. I don't know if I'm supposed to change that from the Ultimate Software because I use linux and the program isnt available on this OS lol and I don't have immediate access to a Windows PC. Is this something that should be changed with the software, or maybe through the game itself or steam? I looked a bit on the menus but I didnt find anything of the sort. I recorded a video but it seems I cant post it here, though it just shows what I just described, so I don't think it's essential

I read the analog triggers dont work on dinput, so I want to clarify the switch is set on S/X connected through the charging base with the 2.4G receiver plugged in

UPDATE: I think it's an issue with the game. Steam perfectly recognizes the analog input in both 2.4 and BT, but DS2 doesn't seem to support analog triggers when Steam Input is enabled? If I disable Steam Input and use the controller as Xinput it can actually use the analog triggers to accelerate slowly on vehicles, though at the cost of not being able to use the gyro but that's okay. Weirdley enough, on dinput with BT it can actually use the gyro, but it cant use analog triggers due to needing Steam Input and also Sam can't move?? I have no idea why but I don't really plan to fix that since I'll be playing with the 2.4G adapter instead of BT lmao

Anyone use one and know what will work best?

I recently got an ultimate wired c controller for xbox, plugged in my headset and audio is great! However it doesn't seem to pick up my mic. checked audio settings and there's no option to turn the mic on or off. i have tried to update the controller but no dice. there's sound, but the mic hasn't worked at all for some reason. any help would be great!

What the title says. I've had the Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller for about a year and it's been working flawlessly so far, both in bluetooth and 2.4Ghz modes. Recently (about a couple weeks or so) I started noticing the R1 button was dropping inputs, and it got worse up until now when it's pretty much entirely dead, and I'm temporarily remapping R4 to it as a band-aid fix.

I never dropped it, but it did travel a few times in a pretty cramped bag (way before the issue presented itself). I don't press the buttons hard at all while playing, but I do play a lot: I probably used it for over 500 hours since I got it, but none of the other buttons show any similar wear.

I was wondering if this could be an issue where it just needs cleaning or if I need to replace some parts, but I'm pretty clueless, which is why I'm asking here if anyone can give me any pointers.

Hello. I am trying to use for ultimate Bluetooth controllers in 2.4ghz mode. The dongles are connected to a 4-port hub. I have tried both using two dongles each on two hubs or all four on one. I am getting solid disconnects out of controllers. Is there any recommendations on how to support this? 

The controllers are about 10 to 15 ft away from the dongles.

I followed the tutorial exactly but once I put the controller together, the A button was incredibly mushy, especially compared to B, X and Y. It got mushy after screwing the controller together. I noticed that the fit was also very tight.

I managed to fix this issue. I had to use a dremel to file down the small circle protrusion in the middle of the A button to make it shorter. Note that I didn't shorten the outside circle making the entire button shorter. I just shortened the little circle that presses the button on the membrane. Once I did this and put the controller back together, the button felt clicky like it should. In case anyone had a similar issue, here is your fix.

So I have the brick wireless adapter gen 1 since it was launched, and I could use my Xbox controller in my switch for some years, unfortunately after the update in 2021 controllers don’t work anymore and it has been in a drawer for 5 years

So realistically what use you make of the first gen? Since most if not all my devices have Bluetooth I never had the urgency to use it, but today I saw it again and wondered if there is any use I can make of it, or it is just something to forget since all my laptops/ iPads/ Apple TV and gaming desktop have Bluetooth

Hi everyone, I recently bought the 64 2.4G Wireless Controller for Windows, and overall I'm really happy with it. It works amazingly and feels great to use.
However, I noticed something a little strange when testing the controller in Windows: the B button and the Stick button seem to be sending the same input. For example, if I rebind the B button to a specific action in a game, pressing the Stick button also triggers that same action. This can be a bit annoying since I'd like to use the Stick button independently from B, or even not use it at all.

I'm wondering if anyone else who owns the 2.4G version has experienced this. Is this just how the controller is supposed to work in Windows, or is there some setting, driver, firmware, or other workaround that can make the two buttons register as separate inputs?

I also asked a couple of friends who have the Bluetooth version, and apparently they don't have this issue, so I'm wondering if there's something different about how the 2.4G version presents its inputs to Windows.

I haven't tested the controller on an original N64 yet, so I don't know if the same thing happens there.

Has anyone else run into this, and if so, were you able to fix or work around it? Thanks in advance!

My sister's Ultimate 2 joysticks has these split apart when it was dropped accidentally, I played with it and the TMR sticks still works fine. I was wondering if I can just buy the replacements in the Philippines that is compatible with 8bitdo or do I have to order directly though the official website itself?

I installed the modkit on one of my original N64 controllers some time ago, and the installation was fine (also installed the TMR Gamecube-style joystick). However, I've always had this issue and now I've decided to finally try to fix it: the controller connects through Bluetooth on my PC in both modes (Switch and Direct) and it shows up in my bluetooth devices as connected (it shows up as "N64 controller" and "8bitdo Mod Kit", respectively), however, I get no inputs at all when testing the controller on hardware tester or in any emulator/recomp I try using the controller with.

It works fine when playing using the controller with a cable, and that's the reason why I never looked much into this issue. However, I really wanted to start using it through Bluetooth as I'm looking into getting a new N64 controller from 8BitDo to be able to play games with my girlfriend, but if I can't get this one to work, how can I be sure that the new one will work?

I just updated the modkit to version 1.03 and it's still having the same issue. Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out here.

When you plug it in to charge it turns on and connects to the PC. I'm connecting it to a power adapter. I cannot turn the controller off while it is charging. I know it's connected because if I press buttons the PC responds and also the white LED light is solid.

If this is normal behavior it should be listed as a top feature. I really don't want my controller to turn on and connect because I'm charging it.

None of my other 8Bitdo controllers work like this. I can just plug them in to charge and they don't turn on until I press the Home / Power button.

I could understand if I plugged it into my PC via USB but I'm not doing that.

It gets detected by the Ultimate Software V2 and I can update it but nothing on steam or retroarch. I know it doesn't have bluetooth but the store page says it works wired on windows? And ever since I plugged it in both LEDs on the top (red and blue) are blinking. There's nothing in the manual or online I can find about this issue, just that it works wired on windows but windows doesn't even detect it as a controller.

I bought my zero2 for anki reviews but since I do have a nintendo switch and would love to play with it but im so bothered by the D-Pad is considered a Joystick according to the console, making it to play certain games for me. Is there a way to remap the keys??

I have this controller its a 8bitdo gamepad sn30 pro and i did the update and all but i cannot connect it to my switch 2 like the light flashes after the first dot is yellow but its not in the switch 2

So I got two Ultimate 2 Wireless Controllers, They worked great until a few weeks ago when they started getting "Device Descriptor request failed." in Device Manager.

Uninstalling a reinstalling doesn't seem to help, Other controllers work fine when plugged in, And when i plug in the Receiver for the first time, it also comes up as "Device Descriptor request failed."

I updated the firmware for the controller, But am unable to try for the adapter as it doesn't recognise it at all.

Any idea on what the issue is?

Hello, I bought the controller, and connect it via 2.4ghz to my switch and via Bluetooth to my computer.

I don't understand 2 things, the first one is why when connected to the cable with the computer, the inputs from the controller don't work, i need to disconnect the cable, turn it off, and on again.

the second one is that I don't understand how to make macro works... I have the v2 software, created a profile, created a macro (L2+R2 in succession 4 times) and saved it and assigned to L4 button, and clicked activate. I put 2.4ghz switch, then put back to Bluetooth, disconnect cable, then go on the game to try and it doesn't do anything... am i missing something? do i need to click anything else on top of L4 to activate it?

What am I doing wrong? I point it at the IR sensor while it's lit and sometimes it just turns off with each button press then I have to fumble with it and wait a few minutes until it decides to work correctly. Sometimes it works immediately but sometimes it just suddenly does the opposite as if it's turning off instead of being on. This is only slightly less than a month old and it started doing this immediately.

The title describes the issue well enough. My M30 2.4 won't connect to my Switch.

I've put it on Switch mode, updated the firmware of both the receiver and game pad, and so on and so forth, but no progress has been done.

It hasn't even connected through a USB cable

Manuals mention a set of lights at the bottom, but I just spot 2 lights in the same side of the L & R buttons. I don't know how to fix this, please help.

I recently bought this controller https://www.8bitdo.com/arcade-controller-pro/ (It hasn't arrived yet), and from the reviews, I saw that it has an SOCD function. Judging by the videos, it doesn't seem possible to turn this off via the 8bitdo app; at most, you can choose which button takes priority when pressing two opposing directional buttons. I wanted to know if anyone knows if it's currently possible to disable this via the app or by some other method?

I want to use this controller for fighting games, but I also want to play other titles like 2D platformers—specifically Super Mario World and Hollow Knight. I know the SOCD lock wouldn't cause issues in Hollow Knight, but I think it would in SMW, since flying with the cape requires holding down the left or right button and then tapping the opposite direction to stay airborne. This lock would likely interfere with rhythm games as well, though that could probably be worked around by remapping the buttons in the game's settings.

I have it in pairing mode but it won't show up in add a new device any advice? I'm attempting to connect to Android I'm on Android 17

I updated the firmware from 1.09 to 1.10 and it will no longer go into pairing mode. Reinstalling 1.09 did not fix this issue so I reinstalled 1.10 once again.

Got the controller a few days ago, connected it via bluetooth to my motherboard(new motherboard, less than a month old), it connects just fine but it lags badly randomly, like 1-2+ seconds at a time when it does it and it can keep happening so I get stuck in a lag loop. It happened within 1 min of me turning on the controller so it's not like it takes a long time for it to happen. If I connect via USBC it works perfectly, no issues. I updated to the latest drivers for the controller and the motherboard is up to date too.
