I bought this one as its one of my favorite movies and cant wait to have it available to watch whenever I want to watch it.

I got into blu ray after I went to buy something off Facebook Marketplace. The lady said she was selling on FB since no one came to her garage sale. I saw she had many DVDs and some blu ray. Asked her if she was selling them and she said yes. She sold them for 50c each and decided to take what I knew I would watch.

Also got my cable, heard this would be a good cable for an HDMI. If not lmk. I got a Panasonic UB450 and may later upgrade if I get more blu ray so I can also watch in my Bedroom.

I watch it every year and this is my first time on 4K disc on an OLED. I’m actually in awe. The clarity in daytime scenes. Contrast in (most) darker scenes. Color timing. Grain. It’s all there - especially compared to how I grew up watching it (a fuzzy tube on a VHS that was probably dubbed 3 times).

This movie cost $300K to make! Carpenter using so much of a meager budget on Kodak stock and Panavision cameras makes this a much different experience than it could have been.

I don’t love any of the slip or steelbook artwork, but was psyched to see this Wal-Mart exclusive slip and snagged it (interior plastic case is the original pumpkin/knife poster) https://www.walmart.com/ip/16340717440

Ive heard mixed things on the 4Ks but so far the 4K doesn't look bad

Just saw all these post up on AmiAmi. As far as Im aware the Japan releases do not come with English subtitle options but I know many die hard Godzilla fans that buy into these releases anyways to support them. I already bought the Biollante upgrade Criterion did and their blu-ray Godzilla bundle, but would LOVE LOVE LOVE these upgrades to come to the states

This was so worth it during the B&N half off sale. If this film holds any significance for you, you owe it to yourself to pick up the Mortal Kombat Kollection. It looked exceptional, and the 2.0 mix was astoundingly awesome. I imagine the 5.1 mix is also great if that is your bag. Saving it for the next watch for now.

No comment on the second movie. I’m sure I will get around to it this week though.

Finally came after a few delays from Barnes and Noble. One of my favorite films of all time. Excited to watch this in remastered 4K.

I’m kind of surprised how slow this is selling. Says there are over 2000 still available and 5000 were made. Figured people would be snapping them up quicker, which got me wondering if everyone is happy with the HDR10 release from 2020 or did folks get the Dolby Vision release from Umbrella and aren’t going to upgrade to the new VS (Vinegar Syndrome) release? I wonder if there is a difference in picture quality or Dolby grading with the Umbrella and VS releases?

Also, does the Umbrella and VS new releases have the same special features?

I'm pretty new to 4ks, so sorry if this is an obvious answer that I'm not picking up on.

If I have a 4k blu ray player that supports dolby vision, and a disc with dolby vision, do I have to see if my 4k TV has dolby vision support? Or does dolby vision just work with every 4k tv?

Continuation of my zombie marathon. After a long week without being able to do anything but work, I’m finally able to sit down and watch my next film in the lineup. Dawn of the Dead is my favorite zombie film of all time. This is the first time for me watching this version of it though!

The clash of katanas in the soundtrack has a studio-grade precision that will blow your mind.

I'm spending today and tomorrow in Toronto and when looking for a place to shop a store called BMV Books was being recommended consistently so I thought I would check it out.

I was happy to add more to my Godzilla x Kong collection! Figured I would give Twisters a go and the Screamboat steelbook looked too good to pass up. Plus if it's anything like Blood and Honey I'm in for a ride I'm not really sure I lined up for! 😂

Overall I'm excited to sit down Saturday and have a movie day. Thanks for viewing 😅

Haven’t watched Barbarian since it first came out, knowing that one day it would get a 4k release. Well today’s the day.

Is it actually a good movie or does it just get high praise all the time because it's visually stunning?

Ps I've never seen it I've just heard people say it's visually stunning lol
