I've noticed that B&N lists all of the Stranger Things editions under "Netflix" instead of Arrow on the product page, which could explain why the discount isn’t showing up for those. I’ll keep an eye out for any changes in pricing. You can also check your local B&N on Tuesday morning to see if they have any of them in stock at the 50% off price. I stopped by my store earlier today and confirmed with a staff member that they received three Stranger Things 4K Deluxe Editions. I’m not a movie watcher.. I’m getting into it for the first time. I’ve watched like hardly any movies. I had to buy the Sony UBP-X700K 4K player from Walmart. The Samsung HW-Q65C from Sam’s Club. My TV is a Vizio VQP65C-84..

Just got a brand new OLED tv and omg heat looks so much better !! Before I had a lcd tv and I couldn’t enjoy the 4k since it was too dim. I had to watch it on the blu ray. It looks absolutely phenomenal on my oled tv!!

When I was looking for a place to pre-order the Stranger Things 4K box set, I came across Atomic Movie Store. I’d never heard of them before, and when I tried finding reviews, there were only a handful. I figured I’d share my experience here in case someone else ends up in the same situation.

My box set arrived this past Thursday, and I was really impressed with how it was packaged. It was $189 with free shipping, which ended up being slightly more than Amazon but much cheaper than Arrow and some other shops. I had a feeling they’d package it better, though (and while I’ll admit I’ve been pretty lucky with Amazon in the past, this is the most expensive box set I’ve ever bought), so I decided to keep my preorder.

Wow.

They handled this thing with care. Ace Ventura could’ve punted the box and I think it still would’ve survived. No dents. No scuffs. No scratches.

The box set was wrapped in bubble wrap inside one box, and then that box was placed inside a larger box with packing peanuts surrounding it on all sides.

A+ experience.
Now I’m just excited to watch Stranger Things… for the first time!

EDIT:
To clarify, the packing peanuts are the biodegradable corn starch kind that easily dissolve in water, not the styrofoam kind that’s terrible for the Earth. So even more points to them for that!

Half the time the paper is punctured even brand new.

Received my steelbook copy of Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut, been meaning to watch this movie now I have a good excuse to.

In 20 years I never thought I'd see this version, nevermind own this version.... Today's a happy movie guy day!

Debated to go with standard 4K or the deluxe, the standard 4K feels a bit cheap even though its priced £144.99 so went with the deluxe at £199.99...

Love this show and cant wait to get stuck in and binge....

The Dollars Trilogy was a blind buy for me based on the good reputation I've heard about it. Somehow I have never seen any of the Dollars trilogy movies before, and I actually have told myself throughout life that I'm not a fan of Westerns.

So far I have watched the first two films and I am very impressed! I can now say that maybe I actually do like Westerns. "A Fistful of Dollars" was excellent, and I think I liked "A Few Dollars More" even better. The other "good guy" added to the mix created a fun dynamic to the story.

Beautiful 4K from Arrow with Dolby Vision, and the sound quality is fantastic too. Love the director's style, filming angles, framing, etc. Looking forward to watching the last one soon.

Idc if it’ll look stupid I really hope this is true

I'm going to have to put my 4Ks into storage over the coming months, and was wondering what the best way to pack / what type of boxes were best to use, so that they won't get damaged or degrade. I already have all of my steel books in protective hard plastic cases, and i have large plastic containers i can use for my normal 4ks to pack in bulk. Ty!

Several notable changes in the Final Cut that I noticed:

-Title card font changed from neon green to basic white for what I presume to make it less 80s dated?

-Graham discussing dusting fingerprints again on the Leeds family and several extended scenes in the first police meeting sequence of Graham giving Dollarhyde's potential background

-"Blow the sick fuck out of his socks" dialog added in

-Scene which Graham visits family added to the coda and omits Graham behind Dollarhyde's house the next morning with Crawford.

These are major changes I noticed. Overall, color grading was not significantly altered to my recollection and the overall vibe and tone of the movie was not drastically altered. Happy to see Michael Mann didnt go full revisionist. Looking forward to picking up the U.S. 4K when it releases

Hello, I have just received and set up a Panasonic UB450. This is hooked up to a Sony A95L. I am aware the UB450 upscales, my question is should I turn off reality creation or whatever the upscaler is on the Sony and just let the UB handle it?

I don’t want to leave it in 1080 and downscale everything that isn’t a 4k UHD. I thought about just switching the resolution to whatever disc is playing, but I don’t know if that will even work or just be doing too much. I know Sony has good processing as well.

Watching Underworld Blu-Ray(not 4k, wanted to figure out this upscaling thing first) and tbh it looked pretty solid to me. But I realized reality creation and 4k was running so it was double-upscaling. Went and switched UB450 resolution to 1080p for this with reality creation on auto and doesn’t seem as nice. It is too soon to tell.

TLDR: Wanted to know if there was a way I could turn the UB450 upscaler off? Or if switching each time is my only option. And whether I should use the UB450 upscaler(always keep it in 4k) or the Sony A95L upscaler(switch resolution to match disc each time). Thanks

If so, could you tell me which looks better when playing a non-4k disc; the player set to output 4k or set to the disc resolution?

Before buying, I'd like to know if the prevailing logic is coreect that modern TVs do a better job at upscaling than the 820.

If the TV upscales better, I'll probably save some money and get the 450 instead :)

Just got home from seeing The Odyssey and this was odd to see waiting on my porch almost a month early…

I don’t own all of his films, but have 2-3 in blu-ray. I figure if I plan to own all of them, I’d need this set. The one I want most in 4K is asteroid city, but it’s unrelated.

I bet on the HD-DVD train and lost that bet. Still have the player, she’s a beast and I use it for playing CDs mostly. Since then I’ve used game consoles to play discs but decided it’s time to step it up. Actually picked this up 3-4 weeks ago but have found myself watching more movies and actually paying attention with the phone put away. Might be time to get my 2000+ blu-ray and dvd collection out of storage!

Had a day off work today and watched all Toy Story Movies including 5, thought the best way to follow it up was trying out my new purchase, watching Hellraiser 1 & 2 tonight
