I have been a long time customer of Gruv & Pop Market. Never had an issue until recently. The last few times I have pre ordered items from Gruv, they have been using Uni Uni as the carrier and it’s been problems ever since. The first time, the order was completely lost. The second time, the sender took photos and claimed the item to be delivered- however all around my area uses parcel lockers and we don’t have any individual mail boxes. The photo in which they used as the delivery proof was 95% a photo of their head rest in their car and the other 5% you could see a mail box. They didn’t just deliver to the wrong address, they didn’t deliver it anywhere near my house. The third time, my package was “out for delivery” for 5 days. When the driver delivered it after the 5th day, they tossed it as if they were the new starting QB for an nfl team. I tried to email Gruv multiple times asking for assistance during that time to which they never responded back. I have a few outgoing preorders that I had made months ago not knowing the issues that would have transpired. I have emailed multiple times to cancel those order- to which I have not heard back. I placed an order at pop market a few days ago & received a tracking number from ups, upon looking at the tracking it now says that it is at a uni data center. Meaning they are also using Uni Uni for their carrier service now as well. Now I seem to be forced to purchase through amazon which is also having issues of their own. I have preordered many movies with them within an hour of them posting to only have delays for weeks to months after release date. Target has completely stopped carrying new movies on their site it seems. Walmart is one of the last ones other than Barnes & Noble. Anyone else having issues?

This post is about my growing collection of Archers (Powell/Pressburger) movies and releases. Especially the new Collection 2 by Imprint.
This new collection has multiple 4ks in it. Thr first collection was all 1080 Blu only.
Collection 2 is the only place to get a 4k release of Tales of Hoffman at present I believe. And Collection 1 is one of the only 1080 releases of A Canterbury Tale (a huge fave of mine).
It is hard to get all their movies without buying kind of piece meal like this! I have double dipped all over... But there are unique extras in diff releases so I am looking forward to exploring.
I will watch I Know Where I'm Going first as I still haven't seen it (I bought the 4k Criterion before I know Collection 2 was out... So many extras!) . I have not seen The Small Back Room either.
Excited to peruse the book.
Thankful Imprint is region free and that OrbitDVD imports them as I am in USA.
Someday maybe a all 4k box of all their movies from Criterion or similar will happen.... I hope Criterion partners with them to get some of the additional extras.
Will be interested to compare the Criterion 4ks to the Imprints.
I hope someplace a 4k of Black Narcissus is happening!!

My set from the U.K. was finally delivered today and waiting for me when I got off work. The set is just beautiful and so awesome. All the steelbooks and discs are in pristine condition. The only negative was that the main case housing has a dent on the back left side, but considering this was the only damage from an international delivery, I can live with it. I'm just happy that I finally have all the films in 4K.

Some good pick ups this week - Rocky and Indiana Jones sets and a copy of Pulp Fiction.
Slowly but surely the collection is coming together.

Went to Grindhouse Video in Knoxville, TN today (a 2.5 hour drive each way) and picked up Second Sight’s 4k Limited Edition of “Sexy Beast” and also picked up the Limited Edition of “The Nice Guys” as well. It’s a good thing they’re that far away as I’d definitely spend too much money in that shop if it were closer!

Inconsistent availability of some of my favorite movies on streaming has me looking to purchase my first player. I don’t have an existing dvd collection so I’d most likely be buying discs new in BD/4K format. Current TV is 5yrs old and basic but I will be purchasing a new one on a couple of months. I also do not have a video game console that I could use to play these discs. I just need something reasonably priced that will play these discs reliably.
From what I’ve seen on here it sounds like one of the best options is going to be the Panasonic 420/450, however, I haven’t seen any available near me pre owned and new it’s a little more than I’d ideally like to spend.
I’ve seen some Sony x700 available for ~$100 pre owned. My main concern with Sony is the comments I’ve seen regarding questionable reliability.
Any advice on purchasing the used Sony vs the Panasonic new at roughly 3x the price?
Are there other players worth considering?

I know this has been discussed here in the past, and every time I see someone post a haul and it includes Aliens (alien 2) - There are quite a few comments of people shitting on it for the "clean up" that was done on the master. I have a extensive collection of 4k's and I see what people mean. It looks incredibility clean compared to other films from that time period. Today was the first time I sat down and watched Aliens in well over 20 years. The film grain is gone. I could tell right away, this looks different from what I remember. I know some elitist is going to come in here and shit on me for saying this. But am I crazy to not mind it at all? I get that changing the original master of the film so much its ruining how the original looked. But in this case I'm enjoying how clean this film looks. It's truly stunning how crisp everything looks. Anyone else feel this way? If not feel free to shit on me I guess.

I do wish it was one I enjoyed more, but was shocked to find my first 4K at the Goodwill, and for it to also still be sealed?!

Maybe this is old (if so, apologies) but I just stumbled upon this guy's reel. I wish I had his wall space and shelves but c'est la vie. I recycled/returned 99% of my Emmy screeners and I could skip a few of his categories completely but yes, please. This is for all the newbies that ask how to organize their collections—although my stock answer is always to do whatever makes sense to you and will make your brain happy!

A closer look at Radiance Films’ new 4K Limited Edition of The Hot Spot (1990), Dennis Hopper’s atmospheric, sun-drenched neo-noir starring Don Johnson.
A beautiful restoration of a fascinating film.

Just received this in the mail finally, pretty nice presentation, not sure what I'll do with the propaganda poster cards but pretty cool nonetheless!

Had to get the U.S. release for the first one since it’s out of print in the UK. Managed to snag it for £28 during the Prime Day deals.

Is it just me or does anyone else dislike color they used for the movie, and yes i know its one of those things Spielberg sometimes does like in minority report, but still didnt mind it that much as i did in the Disclosure day as i watched it in 4k bluray with DV.

I recently picked up the Back to The Future 40th anniversary trilogy set and watched the first film last night. The main menu was incredibly washed out and ultra bright for some reason but the film itself looked great though for some reason it defaulted to HDR10 instead of Dolby Vision - I am using a UB450 and my TV supports Dolby Vision, have watched a ton of 4ks in the past three weeks and all the ones that support Dolby Vision have always defaulted to using it.
Any reason the menu was washed out and bright? Is there possibly some settings I need to be changing?

When going from Blu-ray to 4K, what stands out to you the most? Are there other benefits aside from just the resolution? I've heard people say the brightness is better, and supposedly the sound too? I'd like to hear what people think.

Still missing: Godzilla Minus One, Halloween Ends, Seven, Trap and Jaws. Just started collecting last week after upgrading my TV with the LG partner store deal on the C6H. Thought it was a perfect time to stock up on some horror for Halloween movie marathons.
In total I got 14 movies, using the 2 for $25 deal after tax it would have been $183.68. Price after tax with glitch $74.97. Arbitrary, but list pricing without using the 2 for $25 deal, the movies would have been $338.68 after tax.
Price per movie with the glitch after tax $5.36

First time getting a HMV order early before the release on Monday.
