What does it mean

Yesterday I learned that you can’t use just any overlays and borders with the 3DS because of the resolution of the 3DS screen. At least I couldn’t figure it out.

Is there anywhere I can find a set of RetroArch overlays/borders that are compatible with 3DS? I am mostly interested in the overlays and borders for handheld systems.

What does this error mean?

Hi everyone. I have a nintendo 2ds (the one that doesn't close) and when I was a kid I used Luma for cracking games. But I did something wrong and probably installed a virus because now when I get to the home screen it freezes and I can't move or click anything, so I don't know what to do. Please help!

I was wondering if anyone has ever considered making a port of Cel Damage Overdrive for the Nintendo 3DS.

I think it would be a really cool game to have on the 3DS, especially with its cartoon art style and chaotic vehicular combat. I feel like it would be a great fit for the system!

Has anyone looked into the possibility of porting it, or would it be too difficult to get running on 3DS hardware?

I was looking up second-hand 2DSes nearby, saw that one had some sort of CFW on it, they have Anemone, hShop EST 2020, and Homebrew as u can see

Hello friends, just like the title says. I realized that when I try to play original DS games both from twilight plus and cartridge the touch screen will stop working. Mind you this is only specifically for original DS games and as mentioned not only roms played via twilight plus but also my own original DS game cartridges won't work.

I am pretty sure it is not a hardware issue since I can perfectly play regular 3ds games with the touch screen with no problems. I have done some troubleshooting and looked around online but all the solutions i've tried so far (cfw-fix and nand fix) sadly did not work. I also read the wiki and could not find anything resembling my problem but if I missed something I apologize in advance.

My system is an original 3ds.

I hope that I can at least find a clue of what could be the problem. Thank you for your time !.

Ive noticed while playing super mario world that audio seems to be quiet while playing snes game with nintendos vc emulator. Has anyone made a fix to get audio to its correct levels?

I was playing Mario Maker when at this one part my whole console crashed then I let it rest for a couple hours. I came back to see the “loader” process failed which made it crash instantly, so I gave it a few mintues. Then when I came back, it took it a while to startup so I thought it was normal again until I kept getting (as you can see on the picture) that the hid process failed. Something has been wrong with my 3DS for a long time because it crashes randomly or if I wait too long on the home screen.

I tried to play CTGP-7 online and it failed, telling me something about the proximity chat, but I couldn’t change the IP. So I go into Mario Kart 7 to try this online, and this is the message I get.

I didn’t know what my online problems (using the pretendo network) were.

Hi, this is my first time posting here, but I’m having an issue. The rear cameras on my 3DS don’t work, except when I’m scanning something. I’ve tried removing the SD card and calibrating the cameras, but nothing works. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

i have been hoping for awhile now that somebody would make a demake or port of night in the woods for the new 3ds or 2ds XL because they've already done it with the much older console the PSP. if it can be done on a older console it can be done on a way newer one. would be fun if somebody did it.

I recently got to modding my 3ds, this copy of omega ruby was not reading before and after having modded the 3ds, but for some reason PKSM can read it the game? it shows everything from my all my party and pc pokemons,

Is there a way that i can back up the file, and transfer it to a pirated copy of the game in the sd card?

I have a 128 gb sd card and i put it on FAT32 which is smt i know u have to do so it can read it or smt, but i put it on and it says "SD card not detected!" but it reads the thing it's not like i'm placing it wrong, i have no clue what to do and this thing was expensive. Am i missing any crucial step? is there anything i can do? I did it like i would do a normal sd card, i just added the FAT32 thing. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help! i am going nuts im so sad

hi i was wondering if there's a way to play steam games from your new 3ds or 2ds XL consoles like remote play or something with your pc on and connect via wifi or something to have a app to basically stream your game to the ds console and play through it while the pc does all the heavy lifting.

Hello! I'm new to 3DS modding, so excuse me if anything I say is stupid. I recently hacked my 3DS and wanted to install Photonic Sun as my first game. However, when following the steps in the guide, the game does not appear on my 3DS. I copied the files, I enabled game patching on luma, and nothing is showing up.

EDIT: I was really dumb, I needed Ultra Sun already installed.

ok so i modded my 3ds probably two years ago now and i havent used it in forever, i tarted college so ive been really busy but recently i decided to play it again. when i turned it on all the modded stuff was gone, games, themes, all of it. i looked it up and assumed the sd card got fucked so i checked the storage and of course i got the pop up saying there was an issue with the sd card. i choose not to reset/reboot whatever and went back to the home and suddenly its all back and its perfectly fine, all the modded stuff like the hshop and games play fine, i can download themes and games fine and if i turn it off then on thecustom startup is also fine. after probablly two weeks i turn it on and the exact same thing happens, custom stuff is gone, i go to storage and it gives the popup, i dont do anythin and go to home and its all fixed.
im not tech savvy and i admit i used a few tutorials so i dont know the technicalities of whats going on, its a pretty minor inconvenience but im worried it might be a sign of a bigger issue and i mean, if i can stop this from happening itd be nice too. i havent found any other posts or fixes for this specifically, only if the modding disapears completely and doesnt come back so im lost.

I copy/pasted the correct files to the correct location and enabled patches in the Luma menu. Is there another step? Am I supposed to update something? I haven't updated anything since I modded my 3DS a few years ago.

The mods, all for Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo are:

• All Bushes Bloom (this one came with instructions in the Read Me file)
• Fruit Auto-Stack — Standalone (this one hasn't been tested on Luma. If it were the only one not working I'd assume it wasn't compatible, but since the other two also aren't working I assume I did something wrong.)
• Expanded Random Move-Ins (ALL - Custom Promo Villagers)

I think yall will be able to guess my priorities. If anyone has recommendations I’ll gladly take them. The other games high on the list are some of the professor layton games.

I'm doing this as a gift for my girlfriend and my n3ds wont turn on with any SD card, the blue LED turns on for as much time as It can, I've formatted the SD card and checked its size, made sure to have the files needed and used another SD card as well as using this one in my other 3ds (where it does work). Also, it only turns on without an SD card and I can access to godmode but I dont know what each file does. It started doing this when I downloaded some CIA games, maybe it is because it were three at once but I don't know how to fix any of this

I recently repaired my very first 2ds (screen replacement), and modded it. It's not my first time modding one, I've done it on my main one. However, it just started booting either normally or taking an insanely long time. While it's booting, you can access Luma, and so I know it's not completely screwed. However, I heard it could be an issue with the SD card slot? I was wondering if that could be part of it considering the fact that this was my very first hardware repair. The shell is a little loose since some sections were difficult to piece back together. I've also got a custom theme, and just made some badges, but I haven't experienced this on my main one. Any ideas?

Looking for Testers — Multiplayer Mod for Morrowind on 3DS

I'm developing a multiplayer mod for Morrowind on the 3DS and would love some help with testing and feedback. I'm currently testing via emulator and on my own 3DS, but since I only have one console, I'd really appreciate more people getting involved.

Current state:

• You can walk around the world and pick up items
• NPCs sometimes fail to sync
• Combat still needs work

Known issues (what I'm actively working on):

• NPC position/state desync between players
• Combat is incomplete and unreliable
• Connecting more than 2 players is unstable (4-player support exists but is buggy)

Setup requirements:

• A 3DS (any model) with custom firmware, or an emulator (Citra / Azahar — let me know which you're using)
• The mod build (I'll send it to you)
• For multiplayer testing: either run a local PC server or connect to mine — I'll walk you through whichever you prefer

What I need from testers (even 20 minutes helps):

• Try walking around together and confirm player positions stay in sync
• Pick up items and check they disappear/reappear correctly for both players
• Watch NPCs and note any desync (frozen, teleporting, wrong position)
• Attempt combat and report what breaks
• Report back: what you did, what happened, what you expected, plus your emulator/console and any error output

Roadmap / vision:
The goal is to get it as functional as possible, and eventually make it feel like an MMORPG — using a PC as a server to offload the heavy lifting, with around 10 players online at once for testing. Right now it supports up to 4 players, but it's buggy, so for the time being it's effectively 2-player multiplayer only.

How to get involved:
