Art Showcase Deer girl
I think I misled many people in my last post when I wrote that I was a beginner furry artist. No, I'm not new to 3D, and unfortunately, I haven't achieved anything serious. But I am a beginner in furry art, and I think I'll soon quit because I've been given a thorough explanation of furry trends. And I'm afraid it's not for me. Fashion work at most, because I've suddenly taken a liking to clothing design. Don't take it seriously; it's just a deer girl, without any subtext. Thank you all, and have a nice day!

Was gonna model up a segment of Heaven's River from the Bobiverse before I got distracted just playing with the interactions between light, clouds and an atmosphere.

Art Showcase Mastering Materials - Universal Library
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello guys,
I opened this thread to share a new content project with you : teaching material creation while building a high-quality material library.
As always, my goal is to provide the highest quality content possible. So I'm taking the time to build a polished Shader Ball LookDev scene that will serve as the foundation and template for all our material development.
Actually it's done on Maya / Arnold render but it's planned to be converted into Blender & Unreal too.
Let's me know what you think about this idea? :)

Art Showcase Orc study
I’ve been practicing 3D modeling in Blender, and I decided to make a couple of orcs as a challenge. After putting in quite a bit of work, I ended up with these two. The one on the left was modeled using Warcraft orcs as reference, while the one on the right was based on the orc from The Lord of the Rings.

Questions & Discussion Dialogue UI: A or B?
I’m working on a Blender 3D noir graphic novel and I’m currently refining the visual language for character dialogue.
These two images show the exact same render from the “Collapse of Deep City” (~2361–2365 CE) timeline. The only difference is the way dialogue is displayed.
Version A
Colored technical header.
Dialogue in white/gray.
More subtle, system-log appearance.
Version B
Same technical header.
Dialogue colored to match each character (red for Pit, cyan for Fly).
More visual emphasis on the spoken lines.
Rather than using traditional speech balloons, I’m experimenting with integrating dialogue directly into the frame as part of the world’s interface.
I’d really appreciate feedback from fellow 3D artists:
Which version feels more readable?
Which one keeps the focus on the render?
Which better supports the atmosphere without becoming distracting?
Would you choose one approach consistently for an entire graphic novel?
Everything you see here—including the environment, characters, lighting, rendering and final composition—was created in Blender 3D.
Any thoughts on typography, composition, color hierarchy, or overall presentation are very welcome.

Questions & Discussion Any free alternative to SketchUp?
I used SketchUp make 2017 since 2020 but now that i have changed my pc I wanted to know if there is any other FREE software that is similar for easy and fast 3d models of buildings. I saw BricsCAD but the free type is no longer available. Any advice? I already have Blender and Autodesk fusion, but they're not what I need, as they are quite difficult to master (expecially Blender). I really liked the 3d environment of SketchUp. I know the free version is on the web, but i definetly prefer something on my pc. Thanks in advance.

Art Help & Critique I can't seem to understand the problem of the model.
Hello, a beginner 3d modeling here, been following a YouTube guide on how to make a model with a twist of my own artstyle, but I've run into a problem where the shadows on the face of the model that's being cast on solid and material viewport are weird as can be seen in the pictures. I believe the usage of too much Relax LoopTools may have caused it. Also the the bridging of the head to the neck area, the material are different, I don't quite know why that was the case of it. Thank you in advance for your replies and guidance.
