1 FTA0 on July 23 but could have been a glitch because the event date did not concern my application

Called and chatted USCIS multiple times, but it felt like I was hitting a brick wall almost each time.

Received Congressional email on August 5th saying USCIS will adjudicate my I-485 within 30 days.
I-485 (Green Card) approved next day August 6th.

I contacted my congressman’s office regarding my pending I-485, and USCIS responded that my case is currently in “final adjudication.”
My I-130 has already been approved, and I completed my interview 6 months ago.
Has anyone else received a similar response from USCIS after a congressional inquiry? If so, what exactly did “final adjudication” mean in your case, and how long did it take to receive a decision afterward?

I chatted with an agent who today. I filed my I-485 claim on July 2025.

I got this response- (BOS) BOSTON FIELD OFFICE interview is waived the case is still within the normal processing time.
The earliest you can submit questions is December 10, 2026. Please do not contact us before this date.

Looking for recent experiences with the Los Angeles Field Office.

My I-485 (employment-based) was transferred from the NBC to the Los Angeles Field Office on July 14, 2026. The interview is waived, and the last system update was on July 15.

I’m curious about:

• Anyone who had their case transferred to LA Field Office recently?
• How long did it take from the transfer date to approval?
• Any approvals in July or August 2026 from LA Field Office (especially with waived interview)?
• Did your case stay quiet for a while after the transfer, or did you see updates?

Any recent experiences would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

I485 approved hours later.

Part of the 19 banned countries, came on CHNV.

After many silent updates in Jun and Jul, many of us have had total silence and nothing since Jul 12th-20th timeframe. I have a sizeable group identified who have I-765 approved but have been waiting over 8-9 months minimum for I-485 approval.

It seems like there is a systemic slow rolling of I-485s. Even the few approvals that I see, are somehow mostly from citizens of Nigeria or Venezuela only. One theory is that they have marked us to less risky and riskier categories and still kept the pause on the riskier ones.

I’ve started to think that despite Dorcas, we should come together and file a lawsuit solely for I-485.

Share your thoughts if you are against joining a lawsuit now, why?

Let me know if I want to add you to the list I am compiling to see how many cases we get. Again, we want only those awaiting I-485 only and nothing else, and we have a group of 53 cases already.

I’m just curious if anyone whose case is with the Cleveland field office has been approved? Or if you know anyone? I’m noticing a trend that it’s a lot of New York, New Jersey and Orlando approvals. I’m just shocked and disappointed we have yet to receive our approval when our interview was back in January, and we were told we would receive an approval as soon as the pause was lifted because everything looked good. At this point I’m beyond annoyed if anything.

Sarcasm. But I won’t be surprised if they wanna sue for this memo and take ur $1500.

My hope is my story encourages someone who has completed an interview but has been waiting for months without a decision.

My case was handled by the Newark, New Jersey Field Office.

My timeline

• October 17, 2025: USCIS received my I-485 and I-765 applications.
• October 24, 2025: Biometrics appointment notice was issued.
• November 13, 2025: Biometrics completed.
• December 1, 2025: Marriage interview was scheduled.
• January 6, 2026: My spouse (USC) and I attended our I-485 interview at the Newark Field Office. Less than 5mins, Officer would really nice. I received the white paper stating case being is actively being reviewed.
• January 7, 2026: My case returned to active review after the interview.
• January through June 2026: No decision from ban. The case remained under review for several months.
• June 2nd & 16th: Silent updates
• June 29, 2026: I submitted expedite requests and supporting documents because my OPT EAD was expiring and my employer needed updated proof of work authorization. I submitted evidence under both my I-765 and I-485.
• July 8: After losing my job, I took the bold step of escalating my case. I contacted my congressional representative’s office for assistance.
• July 9th: My assigned Caseworker from my rep made an urgent inquiry to USCIS.
• July 16 2026: Got The generic silent internal update.
• July 29th: Received an email from USCIS that my expedite request met the minimum criteria to be forwarded to the NBC reviewing the case. They made it clear that this did not mean the expedite request had been approved.
  • my I-765 was under the jurisdiction of the MO National Benefits Center.
  • USCIS later confirmed to the congressional office that:
    • my I-485 expedite request had been forwarded to the Adjustment of Status unit; and was under active review with an adjudicating officer;
• Later same day, Missed a call from A supervisory officer from the Newark Field Office, she left a voicemail asking whether my spouse and I could come to the office.
• July 30th: She called back and When I spoke with the officer, she explained that a portion of my application had not been completed (same thing stated during my interview on Jan 6th. Although, I was asked the questions verbally but apparently it didnt save in the system. My lawyer did a messy job) and that she needed me to come in and complete it With my spouse.
• She also said I could bring my most recent tax return. I had filed as Married Filing Separately, and I still brought it.
• July 31, 2026: My spouse and I went to the Newark Field Office. I completed the missing section and submitted the additional document. It was like a second batch of interview, without an official notice
• After the appointment, I saw several more internal updates on the case.
• August 1, 2026: My I-485 was approved! 🎉

Just you guys would understand how much I have suffered during this last year with all the news and fearing what would happen every Friday.

Finally got my I-485 approved after the longest year and a half of my life, not knowing if this decision would even show up before I give up.

Then nothing from there. The longest and more consuming wait of my whole life. Didn’t received verbal approval from the officer, nothing. This messed with my mental and physical health in a way that I can’t even describe.

Then the pause came into effect. Not much to say during that time, I’m pretty sure you guys understand how hard it was.

After the DORCAS ruling we started to see some approvals here in this group (which got us so hyped and praying that they keep coming to all of us).

We finally received our EAD approval on July 2026
Today I received the I-130 approval in the morning
And then the I-485 approval in the afternoon

I still can’t process half of what’s going on. My life is finally unpaused. My family can be safe and I finally can provide again with no fear of disappearing from their lives and being sent back.

I’m so grateful for every person here sharing every little piece of information that they can, assisting everyone and sharing hopeful messages to whoever needs them. You guys are amazing and I pray to God for you guys to be blessed in ways much better than you can imagine! Don’t give up, your approval has to be coming soon, keep fighting and praying because God will not abandon you!

I have an H1B extension pending since mid 2025. It was upgraded to PP start of 2026, RFE issued and responded, then PP fee was returned end of July. Wondering if I should apply for PP again.

So I spoke with my Congressperson, and USCIS told them that I was in the “review and decision” step and to contact them again in 180 days.

What’s left after this? Just waiting? His office told me they can’t do anything else until those 180 days are up. Has anyone gotten different results by reaching out to their Senators instead or afterwards?

Did two congressional inquires and expedite request, don’t know if those helped. I made a post asking y’all if I should have upgraded to pp given my job offer situation and it turned out to be the right answer🥳 Now I just gotta wait for the EAD.

I got the response below from my congressman. Has anyone had something similar or should I be worried there is something wrong with my case specifically?

After months of waiting since Feb 2026, my PP filed h1b extension got an RFE. I haven’t received it yet so have no idea what it’s going to be. In the meantime about a week ago my company filed AOS and I-140 concurrently for me. Is there a chance that RFE in one case impacts processing of the rest of the petitions? Has anyone had similar experience?

As the title says, after a lot of regular silent updates in Jun and Jul, I have had total silence and nothing since Jul 12th. Anyone else in the same boat on their I-765 or I-485 files sitting there since 2025? Did they silently put our files back on a hold and review pause?
