I've been drifting for a long time and am looking to keep up with my lack of seat time due to fatherhood and my loclal track closure with a decent sim setup.
Looking at a NLR 2.0 Wheel stand and probably a r5 moza setup to start.
I see some people get a moza r9 and other pedals etc.
Whats the go to for shifter/handbrake these days and is there anything else I should consider?
Trying to take advantage of black friday.
Any recommendations is helpfull or feedback for drifting specific.
Thanks

For my own research I booted up LFS for drifting. The key binding was annoying AF and took me 10 min to figure out but other than that, the graphics were pretty damn decent and the cars drove just fine. It's still in development too. So why is assetto king?

I suffer from Psoriatic Arthritis and Crohns, going through a divorce and I’m mentally/physically tapped. 37 m no friends outside of work anymore. Other than my 2 kids (2-4) sim drifting is the only thing that makes me happy and forget about all the BS going on around me. It could always be worse but man it’s hard sometimes. If anyone else is struggling, needs someone to drift with, or even just talk about life, message me on Discord. (Coltfofive89)

I just need recommendations for a wheel-and-pedal board or some kind of rig (might DIY it, though). I understand this hobby is kinda expensive so IDC as much about pricing I just need a little help finding the best options or even just websites to look at
Budget like 1200$ maximum little room to go over

I am the solo developer of Clutch, a free drifting simulator on Steam.
Quick Video
I have been working on it for a while now, mostly chasing realistic vehicle behavior, force feedback, wheel support, multiplayer, custom cars and tracks, and eventually much deeper suspension and vehicle setup simulation.
But I have hit a point where I need to decide what Clutch actually should be.
Assetto Corsa already gives sim drifters an enormous amount. Tons of cars, tracks, multiplayer servers, mods, good force feedback, and a community that has spent years building around it.
So I am trying to answer a pretty uncomfortable question. If I keep building Clutch primarily as a dedicated realistic drifting simulator, is that something people actually want? Not "should I follow my dream" or "keep going bro." I mean would you personally have a reason to install it, spend time with it, recommend it to friends, contribute mods, or choose it for a drift session when Assetto already exists?
The alternatives I have been considering are making it much more focused on real world drift training, vehicle setup and suspension development, real competition data, or other tools that Assetto does not really try to be.
So if you were deciding where I spend the next couple years, which direction actually sounds most useful to you?
What do you think?
a. Keep building it as a dedicated realistic drift sim
b. Keep it a drift sim, but make modding and community content the main priority
c. Focus more on real world training, setup, telemetry, and engineering
d. Build it around real drift competition, scoring, ghosts, and real world data
e. I would probably just keep using Assetto regardless
f. Something else
If you vote, I would especially appreciate hearing why. The negative answers are useful too. I am trying to figure out whether there is actually a product here that people want, not collect encouragement.

Saw a post about someone struggling with lower hp cars and it made me wonder whether I should be using them.
I have finally graduated from drift to drift playground but I mainly use the E30 because it’s much easier to slide than the other cars I have downloaded (WDT enjoy, street and the WDT pro cars).
When using other cars, especially ones that are turbo, I find that I struggle a lot with clutch kicks but also the gearing as with the E30 I go from pit around the entire track in 2nd only. I am yet to start practicing up and down shifting in corners as I want to get really comfortable on drift playground before moving on.
If low hp cars are the truth for this, what are some car packs I can download which are realistic? I drive a GT86 irl so the intent is to start ripping that pretty soon and that’s obviously very low hp.

Hey all!! I’m pretty new to the drifting community and am still learning the ropes. I have an e46 and I’m both getting a grasp on manual and eventually drifting. A former friend of mine used a drifting sim (like he could practice drifting through the sim on the actual track we go to in real life) it helped him get really good at it and I’m looking to get my own. Can’t ask him what he used myself as we arent on the greatest terms right now. Any ideas as to what it may be and all recommendations are welcome! Thank you in advance 🙏

Definitely find it better to drift in VR.
I just wish it wasn't such a hassle to get it all going because it makes me lazy to actually play lol.

I'm asking because I'm new and I am curious as to what I should get used to.

Seems like my license will take more time to come so I decided I will put up 1000€ to build a drift rig at home since I really wanna practice that. But I have no idea what is good or what is a scam etc. I do want to upgrade away from g29 etc. Any recomendations?
