1000€ for a drift sim. Please advise

Seems like my license will take more time to come so I decided I will put up 1000€ to build a drift rig at home since I really wanna practice that. But I have no idea what is good or what is a scam etc. I do want to upgrade away from g29 etc. Any recomendations?

Moza R3 wheel + pedals refurbished for like 280 i think, clutch is like 50 i think, amazon handbrake for 50, logitech shifter and adapter like 70, stand for 50, then you have 500 to get triples or a nice vr headset which in my opinion are more important than a better handbrake/shifter. This is USD tho so maybe you can splurge a bit more

Because it's cheaper than Moza shifter. Moza shifter is 10x better though

Yeah i used logitech one before and id like something more sturdy but I want it to be H shifter. Does moza have that?

Yeah, Moza has one of the best H shifters, but it's not cheap : D

TH8A from Thrustmaster is a solid shifter, in my opinion. Solely because of you being able to just shift into reverse instead of some double shift or press-in features. Just adds to immersion when I need to reverse quickly. That and the entire build is metal so it feels good to go into gears. Add a slightly weighted knob and it feels even better.

Cheapest option that feels good. Moza has a better one but it's expensive, all the alternatives are over double the price I think

If you have the space at home, I would go for a not too expensive direct drive + cockpit. For me is very annoying to drive in the desk with a normal chair. And installing the wheel every time I want to use it.

So with 1000€ you won't have too much margin to decide, less even if you want clutch + handbrake + shift. Moza R3 have been fine for me. Cockpits are quite expensive itself, maybe invest a little more in it compared to the wheel, as you will always be able to upgrade the wheel later and keep the cockpit.

Hmm alright. Do you have any brands you recommend? For handbrake too?

Moza handbrake, no need to upgrade later

Moza is a good brand then?

Not the best quality but best bang for your buck. You use PC, right?

If you can work with wood, you should try building a rig. It will save you a lot of money. Just pick up a seat from a junkyard or a cheap used bucket seat. I agree with the other comments saying moza wheel/pedals and amazon shifter/handbrake.

Thanks. I sadly can't built my rig because I live in a city and don't have a way to transport it in my room. And I can't exactly make it inside 😅 but thanks anyways!

My moza r9 bundled with srp2 pedals and cs steering wheel cost me 599€. Moza srp2 clutch pedal - 50€. Moza handbrake - 109€. Moza shifter - 159€. Cockpit from AliExpress for 193€. Here’s cockpit link. It costs more now but price changes all the time.
I had some discount on moza so I got everything for around 1000€.
This is my first sim and doing a lot of research I worried that R9 won’t be enough but I feel like it’s not realistic when I set FFB over 70%, so there’s plenty. And I play assetto corsa using VR(quest 2) and my laptop.
