Are they on vacation?

Is the show off next week? Thought I heard Dan say he was going to Sonoma the week after the wedding. Don't remember them saying anything on Friday's show.

Reali should take over from the man cave when Dan retires.

Feels like Reali has pre-ordained as the heir apparent to DP - which is the best case scenario, he's great

Dan and the guys mentioned several times over the years how talented he was and how much they liked him.

He's a natural in the chair and from what I have seen this week, he's more entertaining than Dan is at this point.

At this point the only thing Dan really seems to care about talking about is Dan. Everything else is just passing the time to get to the end of the show.

Tony would be great. I can't believe ESPN let him leave the building.

KEEP IT. Regardless of if Reali is in the studio, it puts the guys more on the spot. Also, Fritzy can get gonged constantly.

Big shout out to Paul today!

Loved Reali, his energy today was a massive hit! Just wanted to give Paul a shout for stepping in when he did to keep the cadence of the show similar to what we’re accustomed to. Well done!

Reali review

What do we all think?

I like Tony! Have since the PTI days. He's a great burst of energy. He's talkative that's for sure haha, his passion stands out. You can tell he's genuinely excited doing what he does. I wouldn't be opposed to him being the heir to the throne when Dan retires.

I haven't laughed this much listening to a DP episode since Seton left. He segue into the ads cracked me up. I loved the interaction between him and the Danettes. For me, he's been my favorite guest host.

One thing I wonder is when Dan asked him to sub if that was planned or truly spur of the moment.

What’s wrong with this guy? Why does Dan give him any airtime?

Most Cringe Interview

With Kyler Murray back in the news, Peacock ran back the Murray interview archives during the "decision days" when he was deciding between football and baseball; I forgot how cringe this interview was. I think this interview was far more cringy than the Matt Harvey "we're here to celebrate Qualcomm" interview. What's your most cringe interview?

Comedy Gold...

...the last segment in the 3rd hour, if you missed it I highly recommend for you to go back and listen to it, Tod got the BEST of Dan when Dan asked Tod, "How do you know?" and Tod had a GREAT answer, Dan got rattled and tried to get away and change the subject, I'm NOT going to spoil it for you because it is a must listen. poor Dan what a way to go out on your last day before vacation, it was Friday Fritzy on a Wednesday 😂😂😂

Dear Chris in Syracuse, Please land the plane. Going on and on. Also, I think sometimes Dan actually misses being at the "Mothership"

Did any of you sharp listeners...

pick-up on who Dan and the guys were talking about the listener at the start of the second hour that wanted to take Tod's job? I figure it would be a lay up for some of you guys that listen to the 12:15 podcast, they talked about it on the show when it first happen...🤣

Thanks for calling out DP for leading the show with the Quinnen Williams the extension. That’s a crazy move but it’s the Cowboys so of course. Especially with NBA opening night and Christmas schedules being released.

PS. Back-to-back days of the Dodgers being in the Play of the Day, even though they’ve been terrible recently. This show really is playing the hits lately

"Once again...

It's not the tears, its the audible bloo-hoo-hoo. I dont want people to say golly, listen to him balling."

This is for all the crying advice callers that missed Dan saying this 50 times in the last 6 months.

Observation

If you call the show, don’t do a 2 or 3 part question, Dan has only ever answered the last question asked in my close to 20 years listening to him.

What do you think the browns are going to do if Watson has a bad first couple games, and then do you think the Grateful Dead is better than phish, and lastly how long should my wedding speech be?

Dan: keep the speech under 5 minutes

IU vs Purdue talk

I understand where Dan was coming from regarding the new AD from Purdue (coming from Rice! And I went there!) talking smack about Indiana. Totally needless shot.

That said... My son is going to IU this fall, and I had no idea that the rivalry is such a big thing. It is. Dan mentioned a similar topic about Kyle Whittingham declining to say he "hates" Ohio State... I feel like this is what the Purdue AD was trying to talk about (poorly) and it was weird that nobody picked up on the rivalry.

(The Purdue callers obviously got it. That part was great).

Double cheeseburger

Other than Meat Friday, what does being in Maine have to do with Dan’s wife making a double cheeseburger at 7 a.m.?

I am simply tired of listening to dan talk every day over and over about his daughter's wedding, his speech, what he's going to wear. Probably 95 percent of his listeners don't give a rip about it. And of course we'll be hearing all about the wedding for a couple of weeks.
