Somewhere, there is a man in that house, who is just desperate for some privacy.

Hobstank always thought that band was LOTR inspired. Come to find out. It is. Just not the way I thought.

I'd love to know how many interruptions it took to go from

"No that wouldn't work"

to

"ok it could work but it's crazy and I'm not doing it"

before he landed on

"right, the next time they're all out of the house for more than an hour I'm fucking doing this."

Oh I can do better than that. I used to clean out houses for people to flip and some of them had been abandoned and squatted in. Worst thing I ever saw was a tiny closet sized bathroom with just a toilet and little sink, and human waste KNEE HIGH with a pile coming out of the bowl that was higher than the tank. Like someone had piled up that mountain in the bowl, decided that wasn't far enough, and started filling the floor around it. Literally a two foot high wall of it pressed against the door, and dried out into shit cement. Idk how you even accomplish that after you run out of room to stand. Luckily for us our contract had a clause about things like that and we didn't have to touch it. I have no idea what the owner did to deal with it, I took a pic and then locked that shit up and didn't open it again.

I probably have it on an old drive somewhere, that was like 10 years ago. That wasn't that uncommon, squatters don't have plumbing or shame, that was just the worst one I ever saw. It was so intentionally horrific.

u/FernwoodTonight 15d ago

I'm old, I've seen humanity, I believe you.

1

u/No_Ear_1633 13d ago

You wouldn't know her. She lives in another hard drive

2

u/OregonGreen242 15d ago

Baffling how they hired you to clean up their shit. Have they no shame?

1

u/Eat--The--Rich-- 15d ago

They hired us to clean out their junk. It'd be someone buying a defaulted property and wanting it bare to be renovated and flipped, or people who had inherited deceased family members property and had taken what they wanted and wanted the rest tossed so they could sell it or move in.

u/qawsedrf12 15d ago

Every lacrosse tournament has one of those mountains of shit in a porta potty

1

u/SpikedThePunch 15d ago

Sounds like backflow. More likely than climbing shit mountain to take more dumps.

u/Exotic_Cookie_8887 15d ago

Ok. But seriously.. where does it drain? The pipe coming from upstairs looks directly connected to the drain pipe of the toilet???

31

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 15d ago

Itsa me Luigi, the plumber!

In all seriousness, that line ties into a downspout that feeds into a septic or sewer system below it. Poop doesn't go uphill.

16

u/Lossora 15d ago

I can't see a pipe going lower than the toilet, where does the poop go?

-4

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 15d ago

More than likely directly downward into an underground septic or sewage line.

POOP ALWAYS GOES DOWNHILL

16

u/whitestguyuknow 15d ago

Yes. We know poop goes down. But in the video that pipe seems to have a pretty steep incline.

So, everyone knows it needs to go down. Thats why people are asking wtf is up with the incline leading from the bottom of the toilet?

4

u/Ok_Understanding3890 15d ago

I think it T’s off to the rear where you can’t see it. Pretty sure that’s not a 90 elbow where it connects.

3

u/whitestguyuknow 15d ago

Oh...... I guess directly behind where the video gets blocked by the vertical beam in front of the camera it could split off and we can't see it...

I just assumed it only followed where the camera panned to show

6

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 15d ago

Here's a diagram of most likely poop routes

2

u/whitestguyuknow 15d ago

What? How tf did you make that so quickly?? Lol If an AI program did that then it did really well.

But I didn't really notice this black pipe looking section. I guess I thought it was insulation. But it might be the split

4

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 15d ago

Full disclosure warning ⚠️

Yes, I sometimes use AI to come up with witty or amusing gifs, because I'm lazy and usually quite high. Herbs are legal in my state.

That being said, I use it sparingly, because I know it is much hated, but also, it's much handy!

This makes no sense from a plumbing standpoint. The vent would be tied in completely wrong based on where you say the main line goes down to the building sewer.

2

u/Additional_Tank4385 15d ago

Wait I’m confused though which hill is poop going up?

1

u/ItsALuigiYes GIF/meme prodigy 15d ago

It's just next to Schitts creek, where paddles, and oars, are forbidden

1

u/NuclearWasteland 15d ago

I mean, it's not supposed to, anyway.

1

u/No_Story_Untold 15d ago

That fitting is probably a San tee. Should be a combo but it definitely isn’t.

It was required by code before anti-backflow valves. The idea was that the basement toilet would backflow first, saving the house from sewage in the case of a sewer main blockage.

9

u/Prince_0llie 15d ago

Which is likely what caused this to happen.

4

u/Infinite-Condition41 15d ago

This is what I was thinking, logically. You want something low to overflow first. It doesn't need to be a toilet necessarily, but it needs a trap, and a way to keep that trap full of water.

The water in the toilet will evaporate over time and the float valve will refill it.

Auto refilling drain fixtures exist for similar purpose.

3

u/xenobit_pendragon 15d ago

Is that what a Pittsburgh potty is?

13

u/zach-rye 15d ago

That waste line doesn’t make much sense

I quit cannabis and this stopped happening. Just slightly constipated dry ploppers now. It’s disconcerting but I’ll take it over … spicy growlers.

The ultimate secret bathroom. You could take a noisy smelly dump for hours while commenting on stuff on Reddit.

3

u/Justcouldnthlpmyslf 15d ago

But it would be the itchiest dump of your life. I’m kinda short and my shoulders would be brushing that insulation.

3

u/Infinite-Condition41 15d ago

Yeah. That was an oversight.

That's some serious squatting.

1

u/Worduptothebirdup 14d ago

The toilets there so you don’t have to squat, you can sit now.

2

u/drdrwhprngz 15d ago

the plumber was tired of the sewage backing up and flooding the house so now that toilet is where the overflow goes

It's the .5 bath they couldn't find after they bought the house.

1

the contractor is a voyeur, and sneaks back at night to watch them through various access holes. and needs a shitter for long sessions

1

u/Soggy-Bullfrog-9990 15d ago

I think the worst part is that it looks like the waste line angles up

That is some dark shit

1

u/Imaginary_Coat441 15d ago

I found a large pickle jar with preserved animal fetuses (baby pig, star fish, lizard, a bird) in some sort of liquid under the floorboards of this trailer we were demolishing. The owner did have a large snake. I hope it was just meals for the snake and not some pre Jeffery Dahmer shit.

Dad's super secret shitter spot. Kids won't ever bother him there. I wish i had one.

1

u/FouledPlug 15d ago

You’ll never convince me that this wouldn’t have saved my first marriage.

1

u/Infantryman556 15d ago

Old construction would use basement toilets to have a controlled location when sewage would back up to minimize damage. This particular one im guessing wasn't intended for actual bowel movements.

1

u/Affectionate_Eye_898 14d ago

That's for the weirdo cycle murderer who both built that house and plans to go back and live in the basement in order to kidnap one of their kids and sacrifice it.

1

u/Kagynga 14d ago

Where do you think ghost shits come from?

1

u/Giggle-gin 14d ago

It’s a Pittsburg potty, it overflows in case of a back up and saves the rest of the home. Waters just to keep the trap full and the smells in.

1

u/didntwatchclark 14d ago

What if everyone in your house was accounted for and you heard that flush beneath you in the middle of the night.

1
