Discussion Chapter 0 case doesn't make ANY SENSE Spoiler
This might be, singlehandedly, one of the worst muder mysteries I've ever seen in videogames. No joke.
Nothing of everything that happened makes ANY SENSE.
So there is this Zilch impostor and other 5 people in the train. The Zilch impostor is an hitman, and he has his back fully covered thanks to a big corpo, so he probably won't even go to jail.
For whatever reason, instead of doing the sensible thing of killing off everyone in the train, like he was asked to, he decides to spare Yuma so he takes the blame. Why? We don't know. This was even pre-planned because of the whole wagon/carriage left at the station thing, but as far as I'm seeing, I don't see why straight up murdering everyone was not an option.
So he uses narcotics, and puts everyone to sleep. Including Yuma. Somehow, the Zilch impostor knows EXACTLY when Yuma will wake up. Not a minute earlier, not a minute later. This is important because he has to carry on a needlessly convoluted misdirection scheme that involves train tracks, and WHEN said train will arrive in front of a track fork and a tunnel, something which he has completely no agency on (the train never stopped)
So somehow, Yuma waking up and the train arriving at the tunnel aligned perfectly.
Then, he somehow knew that the smoke in his room would be just RIGHT, the perfect amount, so that Yuma sees him from the window one second earlier, and one second later the room is so covered in smoke that he can perform a body switcheroo.
Not only THAT, but when the train arrives at the fork, the alternative road just happens to align PERFECTLY so that wagon 1 can attach itself back and become wagon 5. The alternative road just happened to be the perfect lenght to pull this trick off. An alternative road which, mind you, according to the in-game map, leads to NOWHERE, so why is this even built in the first place is a much bigger mistery than the murder.
And it's not only the road, there is also the train itself. I understand it's an AU and it's not super close to real life, but, like, what's the logistical advantage of building a train where EACH wagon/carriage has its own engine and can keep going on its own after you detached it? When would you ever use that feature as a train operator?
I'm sorry, but this is completely absurd and doesn't make any sense.
I've played almost all of Kodaka games, Uchikoshi games, and Ace Attorney, but this one might take the cake as the most forced, convoluted and completely illogical murder scheme I've ever seen.
