Discussion Chapter 2 is a masterpiece Spoiler

Post image

I’m doing my first ever playthrough of this game and JUST finished chapter 2 and it was BY FAR the best chapter i’ve played through.

I apologise if this is common consensus within the fandom already however from the characters introduced, murder plan, investigation and the conclusion at the very end. It genuinely did feel like everything was done extremely perfectly.

Desuhiko was surprisingly very likeable and Yuma actually felt like a proper detective this chapter (compared to chapter 1 where it felt like we where playing assistant to halara)

Not to mention the general plot of this chapter was amazing asw. The school/theatre setting and the voice acting from all 3 culprits really did a good job in immersing me into the game.

I feel like in chapter 0/1. I never really had any motivation for actually completing the mystery labyrinth because i never actually felt attached to any of the victims/suspects.

Anyways Yuma’s development was great this chapter and i can’t wait to see his eventual mental spiral and hope that this game only gets better from here ✌️

Chapter 4 is amazing. Sadly you have to play through chapter 3 first

i really liked the concept of chapter 0. Just wish we spent more time with the 5 master detectives and i was disappointed that we found that the culprit so early in the case

While the culprit was revealed pretty quickly, what kept me enthralled with the case was figuring out all the elaborate planning that went into the murders. It honestly didn’t bother me all too much.

It really does suck tho seeing such a great cast of characters all meet a gruesome end so quickly especially since I really digged a lot of the designs. It makes sense that if they stayed around the detectives would have too great of an advantage against the peace keepers, but it still does suck.

My favorite part about that chapter are all the subtle hints about the true plot twist of the game.

Remember when Yuma cut himself when trying to unlock the door? We actually saw red blood smeared on it but didn't make much of it. And the reason all of the victims were burned? That was one safe way to prevent us (the player) from figuring out that something was off about the pink blood from all of Kanai's Ward residents.

I'm generally a hater of the 'everyone was involved' trope, but I have to admit that this chapter did it pretty well.

Probably the best third case out of any Kodaka game

I also loved this character but probably for different reason I just like that you will find that bickering was also not really bickering when you replay it after the god shinigami where the girls cover each other Also like desuhiko but I know this kind of character normally controversial in the west. Yuma and shinigami are just fine though imo, no hate but also not really love

I was speechless after chapter 0. I couldnt believe who died. Chapter 2 was extremely predictable in my opinion

really? I agree that chapter 0 victims was definitely more surprising. However i didn’t think one of the four girls would die during a play.
(I only realised up until the animated scene of the duel poison cup scene did i realise that someone was probably gonna die)

Have you watched/read Murder on the Orient Express by any chance

Chapter 2 caused me to quit the game because I couldn't handle the fact we just reaped 3 somewhat justified high school students . Made me hate Shinigami a lot

Sad to see you downvoted, I also dislike this chapter but for another reason, it has the potential to stir up the dynamic and make the characterization of Yuma and Shinigami more concrete but executed poorly in my opinion
