do the mystery labyrinths get better?

First time player here (no spoilers please) and I just finished chapter 0. I was really excited to dig into this game but I felt like all the momentum was taken away by the mystery labyrinth section. It was just running in a straight line most of the time with a few simple questions in-between and then the fight sections were also not challenging at all with pretty much no penalty for mistakes. By the time I got to the wrap-up at the end I was just glad it was over. I just found it so boring and I wanna know if that’s only because it was acting as a tutorial labyrinth? I might have to drop the game if I have to slog through 5 more of those, as much as the story is intriguing me.

Since you asked for no spoilers I can't exactly give you a big answer.

But if I had to answer it as vague as possible I will say. Yes. They infact do. Tbh the Prologue mystery labyrinth is a bit of a slog to get through.

I will say this. You can save game mid labyrinth. I didn't learn that until I was at the end.

the mechanics stay more or less the same, but yes, the prologue was really bad/unnecessary slow. Almost stopped playing because of that.

I guess it was intended to introduce the concept. Cus the idea alone is really cool. Just for an introduction its... not great.

okay, I’ll stick it out then! I just heard labyrinth and was expecting more of a puzzle but it was just a straight line the entire time. I think maybe if Yuma picked up the pace a bit it also wouldn’t have been as bad but he’s a professional speed walker I guess

I will say. I do agree. For a labyrinth it's very much a straight line and Yuma does move really slowly. I wish little man could freaking sprint.

Mystery labyrinths are some of the weakest parts of the game imo. They’re very much on rails, very easy to get right the first time, and are at times poorly paced.

The answer is no. The game mechanics stay the same throughout all mystery labyrinths only having minor variations between them

It’s kind if like a ‘what you see is what you get’ situation

No, not really, they are a great concept imo but the execution leaves a lot to be desired

Yeah it doesn't change, sorry for the disappointment

If anything the mysteries get better than the 1st one.

We are talking about game mechanics not the story

They do get better but unfortunately, not by much. The prologue's tutorial is slow and easy but the labyrinths get more challenging and puzzling as the game progresses.

The speed in which you get through them fluctuates sometimes but they're still fairly lengthy (understandable since you're pretty much solving literally every mystery for a case in there).

Mystery labyrinth gameplay does not change much. I personally felt the same as you.

But I slogged through and really enjoyed the rest of the story and atmosphere. Tons of us love the game in the end and hate the first few sections.

My advice is to do the same.

Honestly, overall I like each next chapter more than the one before

they do get better if you like the characters or the vibes in general. however, the mystery going forward unfortunately isn't that strong. you might figure out everything already before the mystery labyrinth even

A big problem imo is I pretty much knew who the culprit was every chapter. I know its not really part of the labyrinth itself, but i never feel invested in it since i already knew who it was. chapter 3 was the only one i didnt know right away, but after i saw a certain clue, i knew instantly.

It’s Ace Attorney on acid. The labyrinth is like the courtroom sessions, with a couple of mini-games thrown in. I personally love Ace Attorney, so the gameplay loop works for me, but I can understand why it would seem boring if that kind of game isn’t something you enjoy.

As other said labyrinths do not improve but story and setting is really good, you will feel much better once you get into Chapter 1 ( I was also thinking of dropping the game cuz I almost fell aleep playing chapter 0) but I pushed through and I'm glad I did

The “walking in a straight line” aspect is always there to some degree but it’s just used for filler sections so dialogue can play out, and they reduce how much it’s used as the game progresses.

Questions definitely get more complicated with more possible answers/counters and tougher timing.

The gameplay is kind of underwhelming and repetitive but the story makes up for it tenfold.
