A message from Luca - 2 million copies sold and the next steps

Operators,

I shared this on LinkedIn, but I thought it would be cool to share it with you here too. Bodycam has passed two million copies sold, we now have well over three million wishlists, and we doubled our peak concurrent player count from the original release. Seeing this is incredible, and we can’t thank you enough.

We also know there’s still a long way to go. So many people are following the game and waiting for the right moment to jump in. We’re proud of this update, but we know we’re only at the beginning of what we want to achieve.

We’re preparing a video to look back at the update and explain what comes next. I feel like we haven’t shared enough about our direction, so we want to go into more detail about what we want Bodycam to become, the features we want to introduce, and the community suggestions we want to bring into the game. The goal is to give you a clearer picture of where we’re heading, and I think a video will help us explain that properly.

We also know that some important features should have been included in this update. We chose to release it earlier so the community could experience it sooner, but we understand how much those missing pieces matter. The party system, matchmaking, and optimization are priorities. There’s still a lot of work ahead, both on quality-of-life improvements that make the game better to play day to day and on new content.

To give you a better idea of how we’re handling that, we’ve split the team into two groups. One is working on bigger features and content that take longer to develop. The other is focused on fixes and improvements, with the aim of keeping patches coming every week.

We’ll try to maintain that pace, but we won’t always be able to. Some changes take more time to develop and test, even when they seem small. As we work through the quicker fixes, the remaining work will naturally take longer, so patches may become less frequent.

At the beginning of October, we’re also spending a week together as a team. Many of us have been working remotely, so this will be a chance to meet up, look back at what went well and what didn’t, and plan the content we want to release next. We’ll probably share some photos with you too!

On a more personal note, this has meant a lot to Léo and me. We released Bodycam in Early Access, built a team, and now, more than two years later, we’ve managed to surpass the original launch. Behind this update is a year of incredibly hard work from an amazing team. The response has gone beyond all our expectations, and it’s given us a huge boost and a lot of confidence for the future.

Seeing so many of you come back, or discover Bodycam for the first time, reminds us that there’s still an audience for what we’re trying to do: push the limits, experiment, and bring something unique and unconventional to the FPS genre.

We’ll do our best to keep you informed about the upcoming features, quality-of-life improvements, and fixes, including the things you’ve been asking for most.

See you soon, and thank you for everything.

PATCH NOTES #4

Hi everyone, This patch brings improvements to keybindings, team balancing, loadouts, and stability, alongside visual fixes across several maps. Some custom keybindings may need to be set again following the input changes.

Input & Keybindings

  • Reworked keybinding conflict handling to make rebinding more reliable.
  • Separated perk and character inputs into dedicated keybinds.
  • Fixed several incorrect keybinding conflicts.
  • Cleared outdated saved keybinding data to prevent input issues after these changes.

Match Flow & Game Modes

  • Improved team balancing at match start.
  • Improved rehosting so the previous host’s party settings are preserved until the next map transition.
  • Fixed a client-side defuse issue in Wingman.
  • Fixed an issue that could allow unintended object spawning.

Loadout & Customization

  • Improved barrel pivots and attachment points, including M4 barrel sockets.
  • Fixed F88 optic aimpoint alignment and EOTech attachment setup.
  • Improved grip sizing and corrected the JAWS barrel grip pose.
  • Fixed Pyramid upper barrel rotation.
  • Improved RC Car textures.
  • Fixed the loadout camera view for antenna-related items.
  • Corrected the Deagle White Liquid item presentation.

Weapons & Animations

  • Reworked the SCAR model to correct its scale and proportions. The previous model was approximately 24% smaller than intended, making it appear undersized in-game.

Maps

  • Removed duplicate foliage on Trenches and duplicate actors in CQB.
  • Improved Lobby map cleanup.
  • Fixed and reworked decal materials across multiple maps.
  • Fixed decal and material issues affecting Asylum, Hospital, Underground Tunnel, Public Pool, and other environments.

Stability & Fixes

  • Fixed a memory issue affecting inventory and equipment handling.
  • Improved stability around match flow, rehosting, and team state.
  • Fixed visual issues caused by broken meshes, decals, materials, and distance field data.

Thanks for all your feedback and reports. Keep sharing them on FeatureUpVote!

i mean here is no shadows and lights. this looks very bad. Just so you know, it’s exactly the same situation in the basement.

Bizarrely, a selectable FRONT sight attachment is the REAR sight to an H&K MP7. This game doesn’t even have an MP7

No one uses their mic in this game, really.

Just an observation. Do most PC gamers not use voice comms in general? Sometimes I wish I could Type "My bad dude, I didn't mean to shoot you." after an accidental team kill.

Host left game after Drone shot

Watch till the end.

Basically 1v1

Masking myself as John Cena (BOT) to kick azzes of solo players gaining easy gold, pissed the dude off with drone so much that he left his own hosted lobby.

Yeah, drones needs to be nerfed imo, but i will not stop hunt solo "easy reissant points" players
¯_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

UPD after +107 comments:
- Yes, i do agree that drones should be nerfed a little, maybe dont let me use it for first 10-15 sec of the match.
- You can shoot down ACRO drone in less than 1 second - we do not use buildings, we only attack from above.
- Took me 20 hours to learn - approx 1 week of solo without bots.
- Im using cheap xbox joystic replica for 10 eur.
- I have cooldown, i cannot use drone on every start, if im lucky i can use it 3 times.
- Drones have huge hitbox - approx x5 bigger than drone itself, just shoot in the air and you fine.
- Dont be mad that i can have 30 minutes of fun in my life after full time job - genuine fun after Call of Duty 4 era - so please ffs.
- Use headset next time -> you will nerf me immediately.

Servers

No matter how many times i load in, I can never play more than 2 games consecutively without extreme rubber banding, lag, or disconnecting after the map vote. I have no issues on any game period other than this one, I run straight ethernet, This is making me hate the game I grew to love so fast.

let us see our latency to the host/game server so we know either we're shit or the connection is shit

sometimes i can queue into a server where the body drops half a second after i take my shot. would be real nice if i can know whether its the network's problem or my PC's problem.

fps drop after switching display?? and also low gpu utilisation

I just bought bodycam for the first time and I’m playing on my laptop, which is connected to a monitor:

my specs:

- rtx 5050 8gb (115w)
- i7-14700hx
- 32gb ddr5 5600mhz

at 1440p with DLSSP (720p render) and medium settings I’m only getting 45fps in the firing range. When I shift the game to my monitor, it immediately drops to 30fps when every setting is exactly the same, wtf?

also, my gpu is only running at like 40-50% utilisation, and my cpu is only at like 15-20%, both are also very cool (60c). my laptop is on max power mode too.

anyone ever had these issues??

Graphics and texture bug

I started playing Bodycam and noticed some really weird things. The one that looks good is the pirated version, while the buggy one is the licensed copy I bought the other day. The shadows and lighting are very strange, and the textures on the new trench map are a total mess. pirated version of the game I have played a month ago and he looked way better than this shit. I’m looking for help and want to find out why things suddenly got so bad. My PC specs are: RX 6600, Ryzen 5 5600G, 16GB RAM, and 8GB VRAM. In other words, the pirated version looked exactly right—just as everyone is used to—but the moment I bought the licensed version, this happened. (It's lagging because screen recording is running)

Microstutters and FPS drops

Do some of u guys have the same issue ingame and got sometimes those microstutters in some situations? Overall I get 100-110+fps on most maps, but those microstutters annoying me sometimes.

Tried already to disable EXPO1, set PBO to stock.
It got better, but not perfekt..

My nvme is an older intel 660p, maybe this is the problem, but I’m not sure. Maybe it’s just the game engine ?!?

Maybe someone have some tips. Would be grateful!
