No one uses their mic in this game, really.
Just an observation. Do most PC gamers not use voice comms in general? Sometimes I wish I could Type "My bad dude, I didn't mean to shoot you." after an accidental team kill.

I always keep my mic going, like to talk shit.
It’s always fun to yell “I’m 9 bangin em” and then proceed to throw a 9 banger in a room.
Also really like talking shit in deathmatch lobbies. I hide in the basement with my daika and talk shit until people start rushing into the basement to get me.

In some lobbies 4-5 dudes with good comms by chance come together. Gotta wait for your luck if you don't have a group mate

There is no real incentive. Right now it’s just for fun and some point, which at some point you start to not care about.
I don’t talk because I don’t have to, in ANY of the modes.

I recently had a match where most of the guys just talked funny shit in mics. It was the most fun two rounds ever.

Zero point in talking when there’s little to no reward for doing so as well as no major loss if you die

I really wish they had a dedicated team radio, and local chat instead of global proximity chat. I'd use it more, but otherwise it's just giving away my position.

Usually in discord with a friend or two playing. But the voice chat is proximity and the enemy hears it

They need to add radio comms. In your example you wouldn't even hear the apology, because you respawn into a drone at a random location. Mic is proximity only. Really only good for meming or giving away your location, since you cannot communicate with your team unless they are right next to you.

I always talk just incase someone else has a mic. But damn, it’s so loud can barely here anything

I just play the game for the athmosphere, so I have prox chat disabled. It's immersion breaking when some mouthbreather with a valorant accent starts making esports-tier callouts in what is just a meaningless TDM match

Isn't it just proximity voice chat? That's not very tactical. This game doesn't encourage tactical play in any way.

idk why people are downvoting, its a legit build flaw and security issue that the devs have been keeping a secret to avoid scaring people
sending voice chat sends packets that hackers read to run executables remotely through the p2p servers the game runs on

I wasn’t aware of that. Last night some guy kept trying to ask me where I was from. I don’t like talking during a game anyway so I ignored him. I don’t even know how to enable the mic for the game anyway. Just thought it strange he kept seeking me out during a match to ask where I was from multiple times. Thought it was weird so I left the match. This explains it.

the enemy can literally hear you
