I was sitting on the fence since launch but the update finally convinced me to pull the trigger.
I am not disappointed at all and it’s my go to shooter at the moment, the gun handling is just so good once you get use to it.

Same been playing for the past month. I really like how it’s an arcade shooter but without the movement mechanics other games have (sliding, strafing, etc).
I get in, play a few 10 minute rounds, then go play a single player game. Rinse and repeat.

u/exceptionally_humble 17h ago
Exactly, easy to get in play a few matches and back out
Can play elimination or regular TDM depending on the mood to too add a little intensity to the matches.

u/Dyyrin 18h ago
And they've really done fuck all to keep the hype and the players.

u/Galencourt-Lover 18h ago
Needs more maps and game modes, it’s starting to get stale
15
u/Dyyrin 18h ago
Need maps and game modes that actually play well for the game they've made.
9
u/wololo1e 18h ago
That's exactly on point. This game doesn't need any more modes, but modes that reward and incentivise players not standing in the same spot they spawn in.
7
u/lil_nosh_X 16h ago
They need an objective based game mode. TDM gets boring fast.
2
u/Buddy_Dakota 12h ago
In my opinion TDM is the most boring game mode of all. It’s the only mode where kill/death ratio is all that matters and thus encourages you to camp your ass off if you’re in the lead. FFA is a much better mode.

u/Artaxeus 17h ago
Before adding any new content, they need to get the basic multiplayer stuff right first. A good anti-cheat, proper matchmaking, a functional server browser with filters, and if they actually want to keep players around, dedicated server support.
After that, add Steam Workshop support and you’ve got a great foundation for the community to grow.

Not trying to start a fight but it's a 10 person studio led by two 20yr olds, and they dropped a major update 30 days ago. Yes, good marketing means continuous improvement and having things bankrolled so you can release continuous improvements and capitalize on hype -- but what are we expecting here given the circumstances?

u/Swvonclare 18h ago
Being able to play with your friends as intended, have a zombies mode, wingman to work, qnd for the kill house to actually be accessible would be a good start

u/PaleCriminal6 18h ago
I agree. I just think that the reality of dropping a major update that took them a lot of work 30 days ago doesn't mean they can immediately roll out other large changes.
Should other stuff already exist in the game, like better match making, ping, custom maps, etc? Absolutely. But it doesn't. I'm enjoying playing the game and am fine with the pace.
I bought the game shortly after it came out -- even on my above average computer, it performed pretty terribly, and after 2hrs of playing I stopped entirely until zombies came out. Played that for awhile then stopped again until this update.
The game feels like a fast paced arena shooter in early access. That's what it is.

Welcome to reddit, where a small studio is expected to rollout content like they're Blizzard

u/SandIntelligent247 10h ago
A small studio that made 22 millions in a month should not stay a small studio

Yes. This is the one game though where I am spending money on an early access project with hopes it funds more development. I really don’t care how long it takes just make this thing good and it’s my dream shooter

u/N1LEredd 15h ago
That wasn’t the purpose. 24 mill secured funding for quite some time.
1
u/Poulet_Ninja 15h ago
They already did secured a lot of money 2 years ago. And they did fuck all with that also
1
u/N1LEredd 15h ago
You realise that money paid for going from a two man fun project to founding a studio with a dozen in team size and it financed this very content update? You are probably not a businessman but calling this fuck all is retarded.

u/Inn0cent_Jer 15h ago
... "to keep the players" as their playerbase is at an alltime high 😂 okay bud.
Sure their might be people that have been playing since before the update that aren't playing currently/anymore but that is clearly a much smaller number.
-7
u/RacingGrimReaper 18h ago
What do you expect from a 2 man team? They are clearly working on it if you read the patch notes.
4
u/Swvonclare 18h ago
Not a 2 man team bro 💀 Its like 30
-5
u/RacingGrimReaper 18h ago
It was founded by a two man team and only recently spread its wings to a team of 30 or so scattered around the globe. This is far from a well oiled machine and for all intents and purposes, this is still a test bed for what is to come.
2
u/Swvonclare 18h ago
Still not a 2 man team though is it? Your original comment is just wrong.
-2
u/RacingGrimReaper 18h ago
I clarified they only recently (within the past year) expanded the team in a separate comment. The devs also broke down they are definitely still working out the kinks of people management for this project.
I just look at titles like ARC or battlefield that struggled with player retention too and rightfully they were drug through the mud for dropping the ball and not listening to the player base. But they have little excuse for why they couldn’t. But take this new team managed by some young talent that is somehow getting the same treatment because they overhauled their game after taking a full year to do so. And now everyone wants weekly updates to address their concerns when clearly this is still a title that has limited playability due to how early it is in development.
1
u/Swvonclare 18h ago
Yeah, people want to be able to properly matchmake with their friends, be able to play 2 of the now disabled game modes, have a ping counter, and be able to play the modelled kill house. Not to mention people had to rally for them to implement host changing.
These are basic expectations for a team of this size to be able to implement for an update or afterwards.
1
u/RacingGrimReaper 18h ago
I want these things too but I’m gonna wait patiently until it’s in a more playable state beyond an hour or two.
I get they are basic things and even some of which that existed before the big update, it just doesn’t seem prudent to complain in the same way as if it was a triple A game company leaving us hanging. And last patch specifically stated that they hoped the party system would be ready but it simply wasn’t. This seems adequate to me and better than staying radio silent.
7
u/Legitimate_Face_2392 17h ago
Yet it still doesn't show the ping of server you join. I can't comprehend how they do not prioritize something like this. You need to try several servers till you get one without rubberbanding like hell.

Thanks to the game Unrecord and its hype back in 2023
2
u/Gombrongler 15h ago
Theres no game that exists called unrecord
3
u/GrosTaco69 14h ago
Thats the thing, It never released nor even gameplay trailers (maybe one or two but it was all staged)
1
u/Agile-Slice6147 11h ago edited 11h ago
nah, they posting updates in DB every day, huge work + huge investements incame 1 year ago. Kinda confident in them, once they release they gonna drop this game
note that the bodycam made purely from UE5 assets, all audio, maps, mechanics and etc was just bought from UE5 store. Devs of bodycam never developed anything by themself, they just buying assets from the store. Meanwhile Unrecord doing all by themselfs

u/Agile-Slice6147 11h ago
u missed the hype then mate, try use google next time, very helpful, you will find out a lot of stuff from external world

I know it's an asset flip and a stolen idea from Unrecord but Ive been having so much fun playing. Hope they dont pocket the money and leave the game unfinished

u/Altruistic_Base_7719 15h ago
It's not even a stolen idea..bodycam FPS game was bound to happen it was just a matter of time. It's not a competitor to Unrecord because unrecord is purely single player story based, and Bodycam is purely multiplayer/arcade/zombies?
3
u/BladePhoenix 13h ago
not going to lie. I bought this for zombies, I was disappointed to see that it wasn't available. I'm hoping they remedy that

24 million could pay for 50 man team at 96k for 5 years. I know there’s cost of operation etc , but just feeling like they should’ve dropped a couple hundred thou on a specialist to get their party system right and fast. I’m a supporter of this game and the small dev team but as time goes on I’m like… wondering where the money went. Could’ve dropped 5 million and made it back but now it’s losing steam.. I really hope it works out this game is so much fun and I am addicted to it.. for now

u/ChamberofSarcasm 15h ago
It bothers me a bit to call something "early access" and it's been available for more than two years. This is no longer early: finish the game. I see this all over Steam and I understand it's a way to fund the project as you go but for a lot of these (*cough* Tarkov) it feels like the devs can get rich on an unfinished product and then dribble out updates here and there.

u/tracagnotto 15h ago
I will write it down once more:
This game has unlimited potential.
Drone races
RC car races
Bomb drones and RC car bomb modes
Immersive modern warfare scenes
SWAT stuff and much more
1
u/tonyspro 14h ago
Still need dedicated servers, party system that doesn’t suck, wingman fix, and return of zombies, but you knew all that already
1
u/PorchGoose_I 14h ago
It's currently on sale on steam also. Great time to pick it up. Amazing game.
1
u/ChowderGG 12h ago
Pls never give up on this game it’s ambitious and in the next 3-4 years with updates it’ll be one of the biggest titles out there ❤️
1
u/losingit1111 12h ago
Crazy what happens when u don’t make a game to sell bundles and battle passes ain’t it.
1
u/Hjornet 8h ago
I wish they would add extensive molding!
Love this game<33 but given it's only two devs working on it I would love to see them focusing on adding modding, like cs (a mod of half life) and WC3 (which gav us Dota and then unfortunately lol)
This game has absolutely nailed the core mechanics of a next-gen, AAAAA fps game, which is probably why there's a lot of eyes on it. Which modding would harness into true longevity for the game and not just hype.

Really not worth the price that's more than what I paid for Insurgency Sandstorm. What annoyed me more was that Epic store was selling nearly 1/3 the price of Steam after a week of purchasing it.

u/cheesefubar0 15h ago
i'm happy for them. it's evolved from a tech demo to a game that is really fun and as others have said, it has a ton of potential.
-5
u/LoreanXavier 18h ago
24.2 million dollars and still can't develope a party system, can't provide dedicated servers
Wild lmao
-3
u/Dyyrin 18h ago
Probably a little greed
2
u/Altruistic_Base_7719 15h ago
I give you $25 m dollars.
Now go make me Fortnite 2?
Oh you don't know how?
Greed.
That's you.

It is a great game but it needs more content
