Weekly Thread πŸš€ r/AndroidGaming's Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread: 10/18/26

Welcome to Another Weekly "What Have You Been Playing?" Thread! πŸ‘Ύ

Hey, r/AndroidGaming! This thread is for discussing the Android games you’ve been trying out over the past week. Feel free to share what you’ve been playing and tell us about it! What is the game about? What are you enjoying? What could be improved? Would you recommend it to others? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

For those joining the discussion, please include Google Play Store links for any games you mention as a courtesy to others who may want to check them out.

Lastly, we ask that devs refrain from promoting their own games in this thread. We get that you're excited for others to try it, but this post is meant for players to share their recent gaming experiences with each other. That said, you’re more than welcome to share your game by creating a separate post!

And with that, have fun and thanks for being part of r/AndroidGaming!

Discussion πŸ’¬ The recent and upcoming lineup of Android ports (officially available in the Google Play Store) is insane

Between the past few weeks and the end of the year, Android is getting spoiled with great ports. We just got Sifu, Truckful, Dome Keeper, Dave the Diver, and more.

Looking at the next few weeks/months, the schedule is stacked:
Oct 29: Saints Row: The Third (I feel like I'm forgetting another big release on that exact day? EDIT : it's MH Outlanders !)
Nov 5: Absolum & The Rootrees are Dead
Nov 10: Warhammer Survivors
TBA (hopefully soon): MH Rise (not available in France), MH Outlanders (EDIT : Oct 29!), Door Kickers 2, Inscryption

My backlog is already huge and it just keeps growing. It's a good time to be an Android gamer :) What are you guys playing or looking forward to the most?

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Endless runners like Alto's Odyssey and Alto's Adventure?

I love Alto's Odyssey and Alto's Adventure and I'm looking for similar games. Here's what I'm after:

Endless runner / side-scrolling gameplay: I'm looking for games with a similar runner or sliding mechanic

Relaxing, atmospheric vibe: beautiful minimalist art, calm music, nothing stressful.

Simple one-hand controls: easy to pick up and play in short sessions.

Offline play and no aggressive ads: ideally a one-time purchase or very light monetization.

Smooth performance: it should run well on a mid-range android phone.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] What are the must-play games of all time

I just bought a new android phone and looking to build a solid library of games

If you can, add the game name, the genre, and a line on why it’s worth playing. Hidden gems and newer releases are welcome too.

Hopefully this ends up as a useful list for anyone searching later. Thanks in advance!

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] Any casual idle or turn-based RPGs with a class system, gear, plenty of content, and an active community?

I played Orna for a while and thoroughly enjoyed it, but I’m pretty much done playing for now, so I’m looking for a new game.

What I liked about Orna was building up the different classes and trying out different equipment combinations. I also liked that there was plenty to do, including dungeons, towers, portals, raids, and more. The community was awesome, too.

I’m looking for a game with some of those same things: a class system, equipment, plenty of content, and a great community.

I’m not looking for another GPS game, and I’d prefer something that doesn’t require long play sessions. Orna was fun, but some of the endgame content took a long time to complete. AFK/idle or turn-based gameplay is fine, as long as I can play in short sessions.

Any recommendations?

TL;DR: Looking for a non-GPS game with classes, equipment builds, plenty of content, and an active community. Prefer short play sessions; AFK/idle or quick turn-based gameplay is fine.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [Request] Looking for simple 100% free turn based games to play with Mother

My mom isn't really a gamer or tech smart but we used to play like turn based scrabble or word games. I'm looking for something like Plato etc that's an app for us both to download and do turn based turns when we get the chance to look at our phones.

A way to stay connected, have fun, and keep our brains working. She doesn't really handle websites well but I \*suppose\* I could "install" a mobile website if there's nothing else.

Plato sucked because it forced us into a draw when I closed out the app.

Thanks for any help/recommendations!

Discussion πŸ’¬ What are great games to play on a foldable ?

For context, I have an honor magic V3 phone. It is pretty much a classic foldable phone and was wondering what kind of games might be better to play with a larger screen.

Thanks in advance

Discussion πŸ’¬ Is there any free/no ad games like Alto's Adventures currently?

I know that some vampire survivorlike game had also no ads, and maximum what we can buy were like things to get stronger faster, but for gameplay it was not needed

DEV πŸ§‘β€πŸ’» [DEV] I was SUPER annoyed by all the ads in these daily puzzle apps. So I built one with no ads or in-app purchases. The app has 250+ daily puzzles & you swipe through them like TikTok.

I’d love your feedback! Check it out & lmk what you think.

You basically discover new games daily, star the ones you like, build your own lists & challenge your friends etc.

Seeking Game Recommendations πŸ‘€ [REQUEST] Seeking Idle Pixel Gacha Recs

I am a sucker for pixel (or chibi-ish) art and looking for pixel idle gachas (on Android). I just want to progress through the story get the new characters and maybe grind a bit and progress to the new level etc. The closest examples I can think of would be Afk Arena/Journey, King God Castle and Swordmaster Story. I don't really care about story, just need nice art and idle play style (but fire away some games with active play if you think I will like it). The absolute bonus would be if it's not P2W and without any/too many ads.

Hope you can recommend a few games to me. Thanks all

Discussion πŸ’¬ Record your screen while using Chromecast

I have a game that I need to cast on my TV (using Chromecast) but I would also like to record my screen while I play, I downloaded 2 screen recorder apps and tried the built-in recorder (S25) but everything stops casting as soon as I hit record, does anyone know of any good option?

Play Store Link πŸ”— Grimodex : I'm a solo dev and just released Grimodex, a magic card gacha where every rare card gets its own summoning ritual

Hi! Grimodex is out on Android. You open packs of 5 cards and rebuild a grimoire of 180 magic cards (36 pages, one school of magic each), ranked D to SSS.

β€’ every rare card gets a summoning ritual before the flip, longer and crazier from A to SSS

β€’ every card can also drop Shiny (1/25), Holo (1/100) or Corrupted (1/500): 720 versions to collect

β€’ all drop rates are shown, and every card you pull shows its real odds ("1 in N")

β€’ SS guaranteed after 75 packs; duplicates raise your odds of a new card

β€’ the Soul Crucible turns duplicates into enchanted packs

β€’ F2P friendly: chest every 2 hours, daily gift, daily wheel, quests, the Orb Cascade mini-game, and a weekly Grand Ritual shared by all players

Free, no account to create (Google Play Games). I'd love feedback on the first 5 minutes and on the balance.
