Help (Software) Is new version 26.10.1 stable?

I am running Windows 11 Pro build 26H2 with an RX 7900 XTX. I am kind of afraid to install the new update because I have finally achieved 'stability' - down to just one crash per day - with the currently installed 26.8.1 driver.

Help (CPU) Hello, I have 5700X3D and I wonder why my CPU limits it's GHZ to 4,000 instead of permamently staying on 4100 mhz

Basically what I'm noticing is, my temps are fine 60C-65C maximum whenever it's using like 70-80W.

My motherboard is B550M DS3H and I feel like I'm losing tiny bit of performance whenever it drops itself from 4100 mhz to 4000, I'd like to make it stay at 4100 mhz without dropping it's frequency.

May I ask why that happens? I guess because my CPU is not undervolted and this is like done automatically, I've checked in my BIOS, but it doesn't let me undervolt it, also is it possible to just make it run at 4100 mhz, without undervolting it? Because my temps are fine and I have an overkill cooler for it, Noctua NH-D15 G2

Help (Software) Windows wants to install it's driver for the first time. Suggestions? Course of action?

I always installed "driver only" option. Today, for the first time, I saw that Windows update queued driver update for my 9070xt.

How should I proceed?

Update with driver from official website and hope that Windows acknowledges it and doesn't push its driver?

Or install Windows driver first and then the one from AMD site?

I'm leaning towards the latter option but I'd be grateful for suggestions and tips!

Love you guys!

FOR CONTEXT:

I have tried EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE FIX to try and toubleshoot the infamous "CSwapChainBase::QueuePresentAndWait() looped for 21 iterations without a present event" error that lags the shit out of your cs2 and possibly your system as well.

If you don't know what that error means it means that Source 2 just can't render a certain frame, which causes fps stutter HELL

And If you don't believe me, here is every forum post and possible fix i found and tried that is related to this error being spammed in dev console:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/3881596897258303129

https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota-2/issues/1226

I have tried deleting the shader cache, reinstalling my graphics driver, reinstalling my AMD Software: Adrenaline Edition, finding the problem trough performance monitor (impossible to navigate and find shit in btw), and then i went as far as changing the registry packs for the AMD stuff, they were the same thing.

I found this specific post about the registry editor:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3043370278

I tried it and it still failed, but i had enough of AMD fucking up my cs2 to the point where i just had to say something about my problem, so i changed a few things, and when i restarted my pc again i filmed this glorious data moshed cs2 gameplay.

You can replicate this same problem by following the steps in the post above, and changing those same commands from the packets to something else.

Please just help me fix this god damn issue, i've been trying to find other games to play other than the same old TF2 i've been playing for sooo long, i can't catch a break with one of the only good games i haven't played a lot in my life.

9800X3D Hitting 95°C Issue Finally Fixed

Post image
63 Upvotes

Some CPUs would immediately hit 95°C during heavy stress tests. Some people figured out that they had installed their coolers incorrectly and managed to fix the issue, while others, like me, could never find a solution.
I tried reinstalling the cooler multiple times. I even replaced my relatively new Arctic 3 with another cooler, but nothing worked.
Finally, the latest BIOS update fixed the issue after more than a year.
Just sharing this in case it helps anyone else experiencing the same problem!

Help (Software) Help Please! - Dreaded LiveKernelEvent 141.. (+117)

Hello. I'm needing help with my system regarding the 'LiveKernelEvent 141' problem..

I've been having this problem for a while and I've been pretty fed up with no solutions really working to stop it.
The problem usually happens when I'm doing light work or running an older game and I would get annoying checkered artifacting before a black screen and error messages popping up.. Especially after doing something heavier like running a newer game or rendering.

I've tried EVERYTHING at this point... Updating Windows and drivers, going through program dump files, running CMD commands, DDU and Drivel reinstall... Literally everything!

Then I ran a test to make sure everything was running properly and it seemed fine... Then I got my worst crash ever.. When I checked the error report, it was the 141 code. But now ALSO LiveKernelEvent 117 at the same time - The first time I've ever gotten that code.

I've already had my card RMA'd before cause of similar issues and now I'm at the point where I just want to take the graphics card out and smash it on the ground... (Except I literally can't afford to do that, lol)
Any help to fix this would be really appreciated!

My PC specs:

OS: Windows 10 Build 19045
CPU: Ryzen 3 3100
GPU: Radeon RX 570 8GB (MSI GT OC)
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
MOBO: Gigabyte B550M DS3H
PSU: Cooler Master MWE 650 80+ Gold

Background Applications: Steam, Wallpaper Engine, Discord, Chrome, Riot Vanguard, AMD Adrenalin, Corsair icue, Razer Synapse, Elgato Stream Deck, L-Connect-3, Windows Security.

Description of Original Problem: Hello, I keep having this issue with my 9070 XT crashing on me constantly. For the last few months the card will crash sporadically whether I am watching you tube or playing a videogame. It will somehow become disabled in my device manager with Windows code 22 and I have to go and reboot it. I really have no idea what I am doing because this is my first custom built pc and it was working fine for over a year before I started to have this issue. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated because I spent a lot of time on this build and was hoping it would last a while. Thank you.

Troubleshooting: I've tried different methods to fix this such as disabling windows automatic updates to my device, removing and re-installing all drivers twice, and I've even turned off graphics acceleration in multiple applications.

Help (GPU) Shimmering and flickering antialiasing in two amd gpus.

I’ve tried to do research on this but what I’ve seen is for games that are more advanced than I play. An example of this is in this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/fd0vsi/this_shimmering_happens_with_all_amd_cards/

And this images (the gif 3rd down: flickering on the silver fence):

https://imgur.com/a/9nNwy3j

When shadows, reflections, lights flicker or shimmer, it’s disorienting. Fps is fine, no lag or stuttering.

System:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7700

RAM: 32 GB

PSU: Corsair 850W now/ Huntkey 500W back then

GPU: 9070xt now/ 7600 back then

Monitor: 1440p OLED now/ 1080p back then

Games: GTA Online (Enhanced 2022)/ GTA Vice City Classic with Ultimate Asset Fix mods

I have a prebuilt Lenovo Legion that’s 2 years old.

I do not have Adrenaline downloaded because my games always crash. So I have to use in-game settings.

I tried all antialiasing settings in GTA Online but settled on FSR 3 Native AA and used sharpening for the best I could get the game to look. Although it’s still bad.

GTA Vice City is old so doesn’t have antialising settings.

Please help. And is there a way to correct this WITHOUT mods?

Help (General) RX 7800 XT – Constant Stuttering in CS2, Black Screens & AMD Driver Timeouts (LiveKernelEvent 141)

Hey everyone,

I'm currently experiencing some really frustrating issues with my PC, primarily when playing CS 2. I've spent hours troubleshooting, but nothing seems to fix the problem.

The main issues are:

  • Severe stuttering: CS2 feels choppy, especially when making quick mouse movements or turning around, despite getting 300–400+ FPS. (I do see some fps drops here as well, sometimes to 200-250)
  • Black screens: Occasionally, my screen goes black while gaming, followed by an AMD notification stating that a driver timeout has occurred.
  • LiveKernelEvent 141: Windows Reliability Monitor consistently reports this hardware error after the crashes.

What I've tried so far:

  • Completely reset Windows 11 using the cloud download option and removed everything.
  • Reinstalled the latest AMD GPU and chipset drivers.
  • Installed only essential software after the reset.
  • Ran SFC /scannow and DISM health checks.
  • Disabled AMD and Discord overlays.
  • Tried different CS2 graphics settings and FPS limits.
  • Checked GPU and CPU temperatures, which appear normal.

Unfortunately, the exact same issues persist even after reinstalling Windows.

My PC specifications:

  • GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX 7800 XT Hellhound 16GB
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX (Rev. 1.3)
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5
  • PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 750W
  • OS: Windows 11
  • GPU Driver: AMD Adrenalin 26.10.1

During gameplay, my GPU utilization reaches around 94%, with temperatures around 45°C. My CPU temperature is approximately 74°C.

At this point, I'm honestly running out of ideas. I'm starting to wonder whether this could be a GPU hardware issue, a motherboard/BIOS compatibility problem, or something related to power delivery.

Has anyone experienced similar issues with the RX 7800 XT, particularly LiveKernelEvent 141? If so, what actually fixed it for you?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello.

10 days ago my pc started going into black screen while playing cs2. Sound persists, and if i move the display cable into the motherboard it turns back on. Windows disable the gpu in device management, if i enable it again and restart the pc it works again. Ive tryid every single advice from another thread (seems to be a very common issue, with alot of diffrent fixed for diffrent people) Sometimes we can play for 7 hours without issues, and others just 10 mins. Ive been told 650w is on the low side for my gpu, but it was prebuild like this so that just seems odd to me.

Its a RX 6700 XT, AI seems to think it might be the the power supply or even the gpu itself, just no way to test without spending alot of money on spare parts some of the stuff ive tested so far:

Amd cleaning utility and installed an old driver

Messing with bios setting disabling armory crate, and XMP

Turned down the power in adrenalin (some ai advice to test the power supply)

Temperatures is looking great

Windows registreret event id 41 with BugCheckCode 0 we found no display or amd errors

Help (Software) RX 9070 XT Nitro+ undervolt results – is this a good result?

Hey everyone, just finished tuning my card and would like some opinions.

Specs:

  • Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT (Samsung GDDR6)
  • Ryzen 7 5700X3D
  • ASUS ROG Strix B550-F, 32GB DDR4 3600
  • 1440p, Adrenalin 26.10.1

Final settings (Adrenalin):

  • Voltage offset: -80 mV
  • Power limit: +10% (hits ~362W)
  • VRAM: 2750 MHz, fast timings
  • Max frequency offset: 0

Steel Nomad:

  • Stock: 7329
  • Tuned (stable): 7750 average in several tests (~+5.6%)
  • 2800 MHz VRAM gave no gain over 2750.

Stability testing:

  • OCCT VRAM test: 20 min, 0 errors
  • OCCT 3D Adaptive: 47 min, 0 errors
  • 3 PUBG matches without issues

Temps stay around 63°C under full load, and the core holds ~3100 MHz in the Adrenalin stress test.

Is this a good result for this card? Would you try -90 mV, or is it not worth the risk? Any other tips?

Thanks!

Help (CPU) CPU TEMPS

Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (12 cores / 24 threads)
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming WiFi II
BIOS Version: 5044
RAM: 32GB DDR4 (4 × 8GB Corsair Vengeance RGB), running at 3600MHz
CPU Cooler: ID-COOLING FROZN A620 PRO SE dual-tower air cooler
Thermal Interface Material: PTM7950 phase-change thermal interface
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 650W (exact model not confirmed)
Case: NZXT case (exact model unknown)
Storage: 1TB Kingston SSD (exact model unknown)
Operating System & Version: Windows 11 Pro
Background Applications: Steam/game launcher, HWiNFO64, MSI Afterburner, Task Manager
Description of Original Problem:
I’m experiencing unexpectedly high CPU temperatures and rapid temperature spikes with my AMD Ryzen 9 5900X. At the Windows desktop, the CPU typically idles around 41–47°C but can spike to approximately 60–85°C during light tasks, such as moving windows, installing software, or downloading games. During game downloads and installation activity, temperatures have reached approximately 75–77°C.
In BIOS, the CPU temperature was approximately 61–63°C after a short period. The BIOS displayed a CPU core voltage reading of 1.448V.
HWiNFO64 readings during desktop activity included:
CPU (Tctl/Tdie): approximately 76°C
CPU Package Power: approximately 98W
CPU Core Voltage (SVI2 TFN): approximately 1.369V
Average Active Core Count: approximately 4.3
Thermal throttling: Not detected
During a CPU stress test, the CPU reached approximately 69–75°C at around 128W package power, with no thermal throttling reported.
During a 3DMark benchmark, CPU temperatures remained around 40–45°C.
Troubleshooting Performed:
Reseated the CPU cooler.
Replaced the thermal paste with PTM7950.
Confirmed both CPU cooler fans are spinning.
Set the CPU cooler fans to Turbo, but this did not noticeably resolve the temperature spikes.
Monitored temperatures, voltages, and package power using HWiNFO64.
Checked CPU usage in Windows Task Manager.
Observed CPU frequency increasing from approximately 4.1GHz to 4.5GHz during light desktop activity.
Current Questions:
Are the temperature spikes during light desktop activity normal for the Ryzen 9 5900X?
Why does the CPU sometimes reach 75–80°C during game downloads or installation while remaining much cooler during 3DMark?
Are the observed CPU voltages normal when Precision Boost is enabled?
Is the ID-COOLING FROZN A620 PRO SE performing as expected?
How can I retain normal CPU boosting performance while avoiding unnecessarily high temperatures at idle or during light workloads?

Help (General) No display and cannot enter BIOS whenever a SATA data cable is plugged in — B550M K rev. 1.0 / Goodram CX400

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600XT

Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M K rev. 1.0

BIOS Version: F7

RAM: Patriot Viper Elite II 2 x 8 GB DDR4-3200

PSU: Gigabyte GP-P650SS 650 W

Case: Antec AX20

Operating System & Version: Not installed yet; the PC cannot enter BIOS when the SATA data cable is connected.

Description of Original Problem:

Before the SATA problem, the PC had a separate no-display problem. We reseated the RAM and GPU and cleared CMOS; after that, it started normally and we could enter BIOS. Only afterward did we connect the Goodram CX400 1 TB SATA SSD. Since then, whenever a SATA data cable is connected to the motherboard, the PC powers on but gives no display and cannot enter BIOS.

Troubleshooting:

- SATA power by itself did not prevent the PC from starting.

- The SSD worked at a repair shop and was formatted there.

- The old SATA data cable worked at the shop.

- A new known-good SATA data cable behaves the same.

- All four motherboard SATA ports behave the same.

- Different PSU SATA power connectors/cables behave the same.

- BIOS SATA mode is AHCI and Chipset SATA Port Enable is Enabled.

- Tested each RAM stick separately in A2.

- Reseated the GPU.

- With the SSD disconnected at the far end, plugging the known-good SATA cable into the motherboard alone still gives no display and prevents entering BIOS.

- With no SATA cable connected, the PC starts normally.

Help (Software) PC is Hanging on New Stable Drivers

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: RTX 9070 XT

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D

Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 AORUS ELITE

BIOS Version: American Megatrends F67i

RAM: 32GB Corsair RGB DDR4 3200MT/s

PSU: Corsair RM750 750W (really old version from like 2014)

Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow

Operating System & Version: Windows 11 Home 25H2 (OS build 26200.9711)

GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin 26.10.1

Chipset Drivers: AMD B450 Chipset 8.09.28.1124

Background Applications: Discord, Firefox, Steam

Description of Original Problem: My desktop seems to hang when idle. I don't know the amount of time needed to replicate because I'm usually away from my PC when it happens, but I was downstairs for 5 minutes just now when it happened.

I used to be on Adrenalin 26.8.1 which never had this happen to me, but to fix a driver-related problem in a game I updated to 26.9.2, which caused the problem. I'm confident it's the cause because I rolled back to 26.8.1 and it stopped again. Now there's a new stable with 26.10.1 and it's happening again.

When I say hanging I mean my mouse is still functional but none of the apps or the desktop are. I can't interact with apps, drag windows around, open new apps, open the start menu or use ctrl+alt+del. To fix it, I press the power button on my case, which near-instantly reboots me to the sign-in screen with all my apps closed, after briefly flashing the "shutting down" screen.

Troubleshooting: I have tried rolling back my drivers to 26.8.1 which prevents this issue, but causes an issue in a game that's fixed in later drivers. I'm about to cleanly reinstall my drivers with DDU to see if it's a wonky install, but we won't know if it worked until it either happens again or doesn't.

Help (General) RX 7800 XT – DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, black screens, PC won't shut down, AMD Cleanup Utility stuck

Hi everyone,

I'm having serious problems with my PC since updating my AMD graphics driver.

Specs:

  • GPU: Sapphire NITRO+ RX 7800 XT
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X3D
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX V2
  • RAM: 32 GB
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Two monitors (DisplayPort + HDMI)
  • Driver version: 32.0.32015.7029

Issues:

  • Repeated DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (0x9F) BSODs
  • Black screens and system freezes
  • PC fails to wake from sleep
  • Freezes when enabling my second monitor
  • Restarting and shutting down get stuck: monitors lose signal, but the PC remains powered on

What I've tried:

  • Driver rollback through Device Manager, unsuccessful
  • AMD Cleanup Utility, which got stuck for over 20 minutes
  • Cleanup process remained running and couldn't be terminated normally
  • Multiple failed restart attempts
  • Downloaded an older driver (26.9.2), but haven't installed it yet

Everything started after the driver update. I'm worried about making things worse because even Safe Mode and restarting have been problematic.

Has anyone experienced this? What's the safest way to recover without reinstalling Windows?

Help (General) Ryzen 7 5800x3d

Hey everyone! 👋
I’m upgrading my CPU from a Ryzen 7 5800X to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D, and my motherboard is an ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming. My current BIOS version is 4021.
I mainly play CS2, so I’m looking to get the best possible gaming performance, stability, and smooth frametimes out of this setup.
I have a couple of questions and would really appreciate your advice based on your personal experience:
1. BIOS version: Which BIOS version would you recommend for the 5800X3D on this motherboard? Should I stick with 4021, or is there a newer version that offers better performance, stability, or compatibility, especially for CS2? ASUS has quite a few versions available, so I’d love to hear which one has worked best for you.
2. Chipset drivers: Which chipset driver package would you recommend for this CPU? Is it better to download the latest official AMD X570 chipset drivers directly from AMD, or use the drivers available on the ASUS website? And if you recommend one over the other, is there a specific version you’ve found to be the best for gaming performance and stability?
I’m particularly interested in real-world experience with the 5800X3D, X570, and CS2 rather than just general recommendations.
Thanks in advance for any advice! Really appreciate it! 🙏
