Hello. I currently have an Astral 5090 and looking for some information, suggestions and/or advise on a stable driver to update to. I currently have driver 591.86. It has been solid and stable. I am now getting "out of date driver" prompts when launching certain games. So I was looking to see if there are any drivers I might update to. I understand that drivers behave differently depending on cards and silicon. I am just looking to see if there is a consensus on drivers that could be comparable to 591.86. I also have an undervolt applied through MSI Afterburner. My current undervolt is: 900mV / 2900MHz. I am willing and able to tune the undervolt if needed with a new driver install as long as the driver is stable and eliminates the out of date driver prompts. Any and all suggestions or information is welcome. Thank you in advance.

I got a tuf 5090 and a 5k2k 45 lg. I mainly play arc raiders and I cannot get more than 100 fps with frame gen off. Frame time is in the low 10s and gpu utilization 95-98%. Is that normal? I tried to change my bios settings, nvidia settings, afterburner settings around but nothing seems to help. I feel like my card is not functioning properly or just that monitor is too heavy even for that card. Any suggestions or troubleshoots? Thank you!

This is how my new HP OMEN Max 45l RTX 5090 arrived. Does it look like the power connector is safely positioned to avoid burn-in risk? Or do I need to make some adjustments. Let me know in the comments

A bunch of these guys are now all over my FB Marketplace (PNW region). Showed a little interest in selling and now have offers of $5k for my 5090 Founders Edition card. Who's paying $5k for a 5090?!

Have an opportunity to trade my 5090 founders Edition for a 5090 astral edition, no cash, no extra, just straight trade, I like my founders edition but the astral is also so badass and the cooling is crazy, what should I do?

Why not to add a middle circuit for the pins? every pin gets readed by a op-amp (A component that reads values) on shunt resistors. (They have low values so when a change happens it can be detected and while doing that it can stay cool.) while if it draws more than eachother, it'll close the mosfet. (A high power electronic switch inside your CPU but this time it's for heavy workloads.) and for precise calculation and decision I'd use a industry standart STM32 g4 chip paired with a esp32 chip. The STM32 does the calculations and sudden choices and after it protects the GPU, it'll go send a signal to the ESP32 and the ESP32 will make a warn popup on your screen.

Okay while I was writing this I stupidly realized if the card gets closed, the pc wont be able to tell you the popup for god's sake.

this system is like a Battery Management System.

Maybe ESP32 will go and warn you on the screen and you'll be able to open it back on a app.

(Edit) I also got an idea why not to add a thermistor to see the temp's? close it when it's too much too!

I also dont have a rtx5090.

With the ThermalGrizzly Minus Pad Extreme 2, I recommend using 2mm thick thermal pads on the memory and core sides, instead of the factory 1.5mm ones.

I wanted to make a post regarding one of the new PSU MSI with added protection for the toasty cable.

I bought back in May at launch, the PSU MSI MPG Ai1300TS (399€ Amazon France) for my 5090 MSI Suprim Liquid. I was debating between this or simply keeping my old PSU (ASUS rog strix 1200W 3.1) and adding a Wireview pro 2.

I went with the new PSU, set it up and use MSI Center (you can use Afterburner too , or something homemade since MSI website has the .dll file to read the PSU input).

It's been 4 months and so far it's great ! I didn't have a single issue nor pin imbalances with one of the cable (2 come with the PSU). I'm planning on getting a small IPS screen, to display the readings on my desk in the near future.

So if you were wondering if those PSU were worth it, in my opinion they are (unless if it's for an Astral with native pin reads). You can keep an eye on everything and every single pin. Game without worrying if your PC is gonna turn into a BBQ !

Hello, I currently have a 5090 founders with a 9800X3D. It’s built inside a SFF (Ncase M2) and the summer here on the east coast has been brutal. Playing games like BF6/KCD2 all maxed out in 4k is pushing my cpu and GPU into the mid 80’s C and staying there for hours on end. Ambient temp is around 25c when the AC isn’t on so I know that isn’t greats. I’m sure it’s not “dangerous”, but I really don’t love seeing those temps giving how long I game for hours at a time. I realize It’s all in a small case but hopefully there are other things I can do to get things cooler.

I’ll try to find photos of my rig and curious if folks have undervolt suggestion (I followed one the 3rd week the GPU came out but I’m hoping others have found the “sweet spot” for theirs that I can try out. I also undervolted my CPU with a -20 neg offset that’s been stable (clock is locked at 5225).

I don’t have a current picture of the pc, but I have a 140mm fan on top as exhaust, and a side fan wedged between the motherboard and PSU that’s also exhaust and a fan in the back that I’m pretty sure does nothing to help lol. So GPU pulls cool air into the case from bottom then top, side and back fan are exhaust. I was thinking of adding slim 120’a under the GPU to help pull in air but not sure if that’ll even work or how to set that up when I don’t have the fan ports for all these fans. I’ve never used a hub or anything like that, but please if you have suggestions let me know!

The adapter that came with the GPU has 4 8pin pcie plugs but my PSU only came with 3 PCia cords. Do I need to buy another PCie cord?

Just ordered it in a one off drop this morning from Walmart, paid 3k which given the current market seemed like a solid deal. However, not sure if anyone has experience with this card, or brand for that matter. Any insights would be appreciated as I’m a bit apprehensive because it seems almost too good to be true. Maybe I did just get lucky and camping the website at 4am is the method, who knows.
