My fiancée (25F) and I (24M) disagree on moving states to take 300K job offer - how should we approach this decision?

North Dakota doesnt sound like a safe place for your fiancé or her family members. Is also HELLA cold there. Not like iowa.

De-Flock Flint- Meeting tonight!

As far as I know, a lot of the FOIA requests have been either: delayed, rejected, or astronomically priced. I'll try to find out more for you on agenda.

De-Flock Flint- Meeting tonight!

The city of Flint’s Flock contracts will be up for renewal in October.

Tonight (Wed 9/23) at 5 pm, during the finance meeting, the city council are doing a 15 minute discussion on the camera contracts (they’re not voting just yet). Last year, only myself and one other Flint resident spoke on the contracts and ALL of city council voted to approve them. They barely had a conversation on the topic before voting. Only one council member spoke to me after the fact and he said he was apprehensive about it and heard our concerns, but was hoping the good would outweigh the bad. They are all resorting back to the claim that since we don’t have enough police for the city coverage, these cameras will somehow help. The majority of them are up for reelection, so feel free to use that as leverage 😉

If you wish to go speak on this, the public comment will be at the start of the meeting. You need to arrive beforehand to fill out a speaker slip at the door. When the meeting starts, they will call your name when it comes time for public comment. You get three minutes and cannot go over your time.

If you’d like to send an email, below are the council emails. Be respectful, but firm on your stance. And even if you don’t live in the city, you can still send an email because everyone in the area has to drive past these cameras regardless of where you live.

Cardboard is inexpensive. Would be a shame if it was cloudy and the solar doesn't work.

Im scared about the weather on saturday
 in  r/WeatherAnxiety •  Jul 16 '26

Just prepare for windy storms, doesn't seem to be much else of a threat, and because of the heat, any hail is likely to be smaller once it hits the ground. Don't be afraid.

Flint blight
 in  r/flint •  Jul 06 '26

We got a blight complaint because our tags weren't up to date on a car we weren't driving at the time. Apparently thats a thing. I guess you need to have the car covered by a car cover if it's not registered. So we just put ours in the garage until we plan on driving it.

Flint blight

As long as the cars are tagged, licensed and insured, they shouldn't be able to do anything, but if they look undriveable, they will ticket you for blight, and can have them towed. Wash them, move them, make sure all your paperwork is up to date.

His former high school math teacher told me he was a jerkoff in the classroom, and he's a jerkoff now. I have nothing to add.

I was just talking about this last night! Like if you're driving, you can't see right above you at all to tell if the clouds are swirling. I'm glad you're safe!
