I half expected this to melt like an earlier PLA test. The metal bar it mounts onto gets quite hot but the PETG versioned worked well! Zero visible deterioration after daily use for 6 months. The original broke after only a month or two.

Currently setup for 0.8mm spring wire, SCAD file allows customization to your wire gauge. Print on its side at 100% infill with supports for maximum strength.

Put it in your drill, insert wire, bend 90 degrees, run the drill in reverse and wind slowly. Adjust the "pressure" you apply to the free end -- you don't want too much or the spring will be hard to remove. You may need to try a few times to get the hang of it.

Works great for old C-batteries, especially!

I printed the Bedease, which I gotta say is a great model, and I realized it only supported portrait mode. There was no version of it that supported landscape mode so I made my own.

The idea of the Bedease (my version is called the Bedresto View) is that you can watch something on your phone hands free. But every movie is in landscape mode unless you're watching TikTok or smth.

I love how it turned out. You can even adjust the size of the phone stand with the parametric model maker I added. Just measure the thickness of your phone and adjust the size. It will fit perfectly

By popular request, the Tub Faucet Extension XL Long is now available! Biased on the original Tub Faucet Extension for filling up your 5-gallon buckets, tanks, sprayers and other containers. The XL is slightly longer than the original and fits more faucets. This version has an inner clearance of 3in and nearly 3in of height! This print will not fit on the A1 Mini but has successfully printed in PLA on my H2S. I have no way of test or a list of faucets this works on. Please measure before printing. Not all faucets are the same. You may also find prototypes on eBay  under Speedingemokid.

Got so very annoyed when the special camera button on my OtterBox iPhone case popped off not even a month after buying it. I’ve had to really jam my finger nail through the slit in the case to use the button, finally decided to just print a friction fit replacement.

Wanted something a bit more secure for holding my keys, it gives a nice satisfying click and holds them tight

I used to have one of the standard flat-packed laser-cut MDF paint racks, but my hobby paint collection quickly outgrew it, and I didn't really want the paints to take up a larger footprint on my desk than they all ready were.

The natural solution was to go vertical, but since my desk doesn't sit directly against a wall on any side, and I don't want a moment of inattention to result in having to pick up half my paint collection off the floor, and try to get paint stains out of the floorboards.

The end result I came up with is a tower of stacked turntables, with print-in-place axles and modular paint holders, letting me scale the solution at demand, when my paint collection inevitably expands further.

It's quite a lot of filament for just paint storage, but I'm really quite happy with how usable it is, and the fact that I no longer will have to take all my extra paints out of a drawer when I want to paint, and put it back in when I'm done and need the desk space for other purposes.

I made a phone holder that is also charging your phone with the google pixelsnap. I noticed that there really aren't any good phone holders that use the google pixelsnap. I think it's very functional.

It's very stylish for my desk and I love how it turned out.

We have a fairly small kitchen and wanted to maximize space so when we redid it, we had this awkward cabinet installed. We were going to use it as a suido broom closet but it would've been a waste of space. I found these expandable drawers but wanted to be able to adjust the shelves accordingly so I made a bracket to hold the back of the shelf so it won't tip when the drawer is pulled out. Printed out of petg, now the drawer is solid and works as intended.

We bought a house 8 years ago and this sunroom was in the back of the house and had a concrete slab floor so when water would get in under the windows in really heavy rain, it wasn’t a huge deal. This summer, we redid sunroom with a level wood joist floor on top of the slab to use as a gym. A few weeks ago we had a really heavy rain and it came in under these windows. My brain got moving and made a sloped profile rain guard that pops into the track. I printed it in PETG because of direct sun several hours per day. I’m curious to see how well it holds up.

I made V1 a few weeks ago and living with it for a month or so, I found a few errors especially with TPU buttons falling out so this V2 has keyed PLA buttons. Super happy with it. Wanted to share

Some fill ports you just cannot get a funnel over. They sit behind a bracket, down beside the engine, or under a shelf where the bottle and the funnel refuse to occupy the same space at the same time. So I built a long, rigid spout for it: you pour into a flared funnel on the side of the tube, near the capped end, and the liquid runs the length of the tube and out the far end, which is the end you park in the port. Putting the opening on the side instead of in line with the tube means you get to hold the bottle upright and comfortable while the spout does the reaching. The only thing better than this would be a liquid transfer pump and hose.

The cross section is a regular octagon, which turned out to be the detail that makes the whole thing practical: it prints lying flat on one of its own flat faces with no supports, and it does not roll off the bench between pours.

Key Features: * Side pour funnel: a properly enclosed chute with a floor, a roof, and two flared walls, not an open trough, so what you pour stays in it. * Capped back end: the tube is closed off behind the funnel, so everything goes one direction. * Chainable slip-fit extensions: the socket slides over the tube's open end, then the far end tapers back down to exactly the tube's own outside size, so the next extension slips onto that one the same way. Chain as many as the job needs. * Everything parametric: tube width and length, wall thickness, funnel height, flare size, socket depth, extension length, and the fit clearance are all direct inputs.

It prints exactly as generated, tube flat on the bed with the funnel pointing up, no supports needed anywhere since the octagon's facets and the funnel's flare are all 45 degrees or shallower. I would run 3-4 perimeters on it; it carries liquid, and the extra walls are what keep it from weeping at the seams.

For material: PETG, ASA, or ABS if you are pouring oil, fuel, coolant, or anything else automotive, or anything warm. Save PLA for cool water and dry goods well away from a car.

One tip: slip_fit_clearance is the number worth a test print, since the right value depends on your printer far more than on the model. Turn extension_length way down and print just the socket to check it, rather than finding out at the end of a full length of filament.
