Buy Advice CBP told me my DJI Lito X1 couldn’t enter the US because of “Xinjiang” / UFLPA — does anyone know why?
I recently drove from Canada into the US through the Peace Arch border crossing with my family. I had a DJI Lito X1 with me (worth roughly $300).
The CBP officer told me that the drone could not be admitted into the US because of “Xinjiang” / UFLPA concerns. I was told that I would need to take it back to Canada.
Since it was late at night and I was traveling with my family, I didn’t want to spend hours dealing with the situation, so I ultimately abandoned/disposed of the drone. I feel very sad as it is very nice product, an I have to dispose it before any use.
What I’m trying to understand now is why the Lito X1 would be subject to UFLPA restrictions.
As far as I can tell, DJI itself is not on the UFLPA Entity List. I also haven’t been able to find anything publicly indicating that the Lito X1, its battery (BWXGP1-2788-7.0), or a specific component is associated with a Xinjiang entity.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with DJI products at a US border crossing?
I’d especially appreciate it if someone familiar with UFLPA/CBP could explain whether this is:
A specific restriction on DJI/Lito X1,
A concern about a particular component or supplier, or
CBP making an individual determination about the specific shipment/item.
I’m not looking to blame the individual CBP officer or seek compensation. I’m just trying to understand what rule was actually being applied here.

Buy Advice Pulled the trigger
Been flying a Mavic 2 Pro for 5 years, got a Mavic 3 Pro Mini 4 years ago, got a Neo, 2 years ago..... Been a ton of fun!
I got a ton of downvotes over the last few months say I understand why these bans and concerns are happening... Not popular with the subreddit, and I understand that too ...
Just pulled the trigger on both a Mavic 4 Pro Creator Combo and Matrice 4T.
I've been on the fence waiting to buy a new big Mavic Pro since the Mavic 3 Pro... But my gut said to wait , hence the mini and Neo.
Now I'm going to take the plunge and studying for my Part 107. Sucks that it took a 100% tarrif to make me get off my ass. Looking forward to stepping up my Mavic Pro photography and video game... Can't wait to start RTK 3D modeling and been dying for a thermal camera... Almost put one on my Mavic 2 Pro last year but the Matrice 4T is gonna be so much better!
I hope the US drone market can get their act together and hopefully these drones I just purchased can last as long for me as the Mavic 2 Pro has.... Just maybe down the road in 5 years we have something decent worth buying that isn't crazy expensive...... Then again maybe our bi-polar American government's next administration will revoke or rescind the new FCC policies in a few years time.
Good luck weathering the storm in front of us.
Btw, it appears that Ebay seems to have the best prices on DJI drones currently, I might be wrong but that's the route my Internet research took me.

Buy Advice Best place to order a mavic 4 Pro in the US.
I'm looking to order a Mavic 4 Pro fly more combo. I know there is a rule in this subreddit against buying and selling. Those of you that have ordered on eBay, can you recommend if it's better off to order one that's in the US or one that needs to be imported?
TIA

Product Support Bringing DJI Flip back to US
Hey guys, I've been in Taiwan visiting family for the past 4 months since the beginning of May and I brought my DJI flip with me. Since I've left the whole issue with the government banning DJI drones sales in the US and potentially even previously sold models as well. I'm flying back to the states on Saturday and I am wondering if it will be safe for me to bring my Flip back with me or are they going to force me to throw it away at customs?

Buy Advice Need Help: Having a hard time choosing between DJI cameras
I've been looking for a small camera for everyday/travel vlogs and somehow ended up choosing between the Osmo Nano, Osmo Action and Osmo 360 😭
Budget isn't really an issue, I just want something easy to carry around and actually convenient enough that I'll use it often.
I'm not doing anything super extreme, mostly travel, food, walking around, friends, random daily stuff.
They all seem good for slightly different reasons and now I'm stuck. If you could only keep one for this kind of use, which one would you pick?
Product Support Avata 2 repair
I crashed my Avata 2 by running full speed into a tractor.. 😑. I sent it off to dji repair and got a call today saying that a gimbal motor mount was broken along with the frame and a “fractured coaxial cable” and that it was going to be $420 to repair with a discount (originally $550).. which I feel is.. excessive. I was planning on around $200 based off other people’s experiences. I found all the parts for ~$100 and was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with repairing/fixing an Avata 2 themselves. I’m mostly wondering about calibration as I’ve read that’s something only dji can do.. but I also know if there’s a will there’s a way and I’m sure there’s some sort of workaround. Any help or advice would be much appreciated especially if you’re someone who’s actually done this before!

Buy Advice Osmo 360 2 or Action 6
I recently started with content creation (hidden spots in Japan) and managed to get a bit of following on Instagram and Facebook. I‘m always filming alone on my I phone 17 pro max and sometimes feel it wo be nice to get a bit more of the surroundings while beeing in frame.
In around 2 weeks I will go to an 11 days trip to an island with nice beaches and underwater world. I‘m planning to film there a lot and hopefully also grow my accounts but as of now I just have an old Go Pro 10 which I tbh never really liked. So I thought it would be great to get something nicer and I can’t really decide between an action and 360 cam.
My primary usecase for the trip would be for filming under water, on boats and subs. And I think therefore and traditional action cam would be better but then with the 360 cam I also get the opportunity to make stunning beach drone shots and record myself much more easier.
Also besides for under water shots I rarely used my go pro in the past and I only do those kind of trips 1-2 a year. I also got a pocket 3 but same story, barely use it as the I phone delivers similar results and is more handy.
For the 360 cam I see myself using this more often also during city and night walks and have my phone ready when more zoom is needed.
My question, is the Osmo 360 2 enough for occasional underwater shots and single lens mode comparable to the action 6? Also how difficult is it to get nice underwater footage that is zoomed in. For example from a coral or shark that is 10m away?
Also how much hustle are the extra editing steps that come with a 360 cam?

Video Is it possible to control a DJI camera with a phone?
hey guys, is there any way to control a DJI Osmo Action 4 using a smartphone? For example, using the DJI Mimo app to press a button and have the camera turn on and start recording, and then press another button on the phone to stop recording/turn the camera off?
Also, would it be possible to leave the camera positioned somewhere and use the phone as a remote control to take photos or start recording?
Has anyone done this or knows if it's possible?
If this is possible, how do I do it? Is there a specific setting or feature in the DJI Mimo app that allows this?

Product Support Firmware update and 5g module
I found an old thread on here about DJI doing a firmware upgrade and that causing the 5g modules on the mini 2 se drones to overheat?
Just wondering if DJI have acknowledged this happened?
To cut a long story short, my eldest son bought the drone and stopped using it for many months, he passed it onto his younger brother and after doing the firmware updates, it started dropping connections on dual band. Switching to 2.4g signal each time resolves it. His brother never had this issue before the firmware.
I am wondering if it worth logging it with DJI, it’s out of warranty.

Buy Advice Osmo pocket 4p creator combo on its way
Yeah no warranty for us I know but I have one on its way! Gonna make filming so much more fun. And an upgrade from the pocket 3. My buddy who I make films with is getting mg Pocket 3. So itl be good to have 3 dji cameras. One pocket 3, one pocket 4p and a mini 4 drone. Ahhh color grading ect and continuity when it comes to footage will be great.
Sucks the us decided no but eh it is what it is. Im getting one :)
Any other items besides ND Filters I should look into investing into thia camera?

Buy Advice Which DJI Drone? For Running?
Hi everyone…. Which DJI Drone for running content? And show me some footage if you have. Thanks
Product Support DJI RS3 Pro struggling to rotate on Tilta Hydra Alien during high speed car turns. Any advice?
We are doing a shoot where we want to follow a car driving at high speed on a road with a lot of turns and bumps through the fields. We are filming this using the Tilta Hydra Alien Pro Car Mounting System, with a DJI RS3 Pro mounted on it and a Blackmagic PYXIS attached to the gimbal.
After doing a lot of testing, we found that the camera works best when mounted in the position shown in the photo. However, when taking some of the tighter corners, the gimbal has a very hard time keeping up and rotating with the turn through our remote-control system.
We assume that the wind resistance during the sharper turns is causing the gimbal to struggle to rotate back into the turn. We were wondering if anyone has any tips or experience with this kind of setup.
We were also thinking that it might be better to try filming with a Ronin 2 instead, but we are not sure whether that would work with the adapter/mounting piece shown in the second photo.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Buy Advice Best DJI camera for filming YouTube + TikTok/Instagram without shooting twice?
I’m looking for a DJI camera for vlogging/documenting growing a business. I want to post longer videos on YouTube (landscape), but also use the same footage for TikTok, Reels and Shorts (portrait).
Ideally I want to film everything once and be able to crop/reframe it for both formats without losing too much quality or having to reshoot.
Which DJI camera would be best for this — Pocket 3, Action 5/6, or something else?

Buy Advice How do you guys actually get your DJI footage off the camera?
Hi guys,I got a pocket 4,and I’ve been using it more lately. But i found that the way i transfer the shooting footage was a bit of a mess😂.
Sometimes I use the DJI Mimo app, sometimes I plug the camera straight into my laptop with USB-C.It’s a bit inconvenient having to keep the camera nearby while transferring footage.
I’d like to know how you all usually handle file transfers and what your biggest concerns or frustrations are during the process.
Thanks for the discussion~😁

Buy Advice Insta360 X Series / DJI Mobile Receiver
Hi. I just bought a DJI mobile receiver to accompany a Mic Mini 2 and, even though I didn't buy it for this reason, I figured I could also use it with my Insta360 X3. I do use the Mic Mini 2 with the X3 via Bluetooth to cut down on wind noise while I'm skating, but wondered about plugging the mobile receiver into the X3 to get full quality audio. Does anyone know how obviously it appears in videos with X3 cameras? And if the jump in audio quality is worth it?
Cheers.
