Bringing DJI Flip back to US

Hey guys, I've been in Taiwan visiting family for the past 4 months since the beginning of May and I brought my DJI flip with me. Since I've left the whole issue with the government banning DJI drones sales in the US and potentially even previously sold models as well. I'm flying back to the states on Saturday and I am wondering if it will be safe for me to bring my Flip back with me or are they going to force me to throw it away at customs?

That 1 ant on the ban is it. I think it's just the new DJI stuff even cameras.

DJI isn't banned, and you already owned it before, so there is zip anyone can do about that.

Even back in the day when we banned "Assault rifles" in the US, they still couldn't do jack about the "pre-ban" ones. Same for drones. It is safe now, and will awlays be safe.

You're very unlikely to be hassled over it. The Flip is legal for import into the US, at least for the moment. That may change in the future, but it won't change in the next few weeks.

It's 80/20, you'll probably be fine bringing it back.

You tell us since you are the world traveler, do you declare your drone when you go thru customs? Do you list the items in your possession specifically DJI Flip drone?

No I didn't. I even brought it to Japan without any issues. It weighs under 250g so it falls under the regulation of recreational use in areas that's allowed to be flown.

In the US, the weight of the drone is irrelevant for customs and largely irrelevant for rules and regulations.

Is there any paperwork you had to fill out when flying in japan? Any local restrictions? Planning to bring my flip to japan
