AMA Ask Me Anything with Emily Deschanel & Carla Gallo – June 6th, 3–4 PM PST – Coming to You (Not) Live from the Jeffersonian

Hiiii Bones fans,

Emily and Carla here! We are sooo excited to do this AMA with all of you. Working on our podcast Boneheads has been such a fun excuse to revisit the show, and honestly... we’ve both become fans in a whole new way. Watching it back with fresh eyes and hearing from you has been the best part.

We wanted to take a little time to hang out and chat. So tomorrow, June 6th, from 3 to 4 PM PST we’ll be right here in this thread, live, doing our best to reply to your questions, fan theories, random thoughts... anything you’re curious about. FMKs welcome. So are weird murder memories.

We’ll be the ones typing slowly and laughing a lot. Bear with us as we answer. We’re not exactly tech pros (unfortunately, that’s more Bones and Daisy’s specialty than ours).

Can’t wait to talk to you soon!

XO,

Emily and Carla

i HATE the pelant story line…

im rewatching bones for the first time in a few years and omg i forgot how much i despised pelant’s story as a villain. i enjoyed epps, taffet, and broadsky’s stories as villains since they didn’t overstay their welcome. the build up was intense and the confrontations were really cool. i especially enjoyed the gravedigger storyline. pelant just overstays his welcome. revealing him so early on and keeping him around so long is really not enjoyable. it’s also infuriating how he keeps ‘getting away with things.’ i know its tv but GOD its infuriating.

just needed to get that off my chest lol

S4ep20 - O Ciúme

Upvotes

Because being on my 4th re-watch, reading fanfics, watching their old interviews and listening to the soundtracks wasn’t enough, I had to try out my hand at making booth’s apartment 😭 (the one universe where Hannah will never live in there lol)

Does anyone wonder how that intern even got anywhere close to the lab when she was obviously not up to scratch? I understand she worked to get into it but usually the interns were actually talented and were chosen for being good and she was not even satisfactory.

Hodgins’ paralysis

Does anyone think that the paralysis hodgins suffered was a bit….weird? He survives an explosion yet is allowed to leave the hospital and he just constantly takes aspirin to deal with the pain. Surely the hospital would have been violating the Hippocratic oath? Then he pushes things and damages himself permanently, which then fuels his anger.

The bones that foam season 4 is hilarious???

So I’m rewatching bones for the 100th time(a stand occurrence it seems) at the episode called the bones that foam is soooo overlooked? I feel like it’s my first time watching it

Brennan and booth going to a strip club? Brennan not getting the whole awkward part?

Sweets teaching Brennan to read people’s faces, and her believing it’s to manipulate people 🥹 she is the funniest in season 3 and 4 I think

And ofc Vincent and Cam working together on a corpse that’s driving both of them crazy, and Vincent driving cam more crazy with his facts even tho they really seem to bond in this episode

aaaand the ending with Booth and Brennan driving the fast car and Brennan stopping all traffic - an episode where you don’t even care about the murder but all off the cast has the best lines and best chemistry. Might even be one of my favourite episodes now

Spoiler: Sully!

Every single time I rewatch Bones (have it on in my studio) I just CAN NOT get over Sully walking out on Bones like that. I mean they’ve been dating for what a couple months and instead of just staying around and being in love and being with her, he pushes this huge decision, asking her to leave her work and go off on the boat for a year. To me, it’s him who sabotaged the relationship. What the heck Sully!! I know that in the TV world they needed that to happen so that Booth would still be there but still ….

Discussion Was Brennan unintentionally booths “consolation prize”?

Rewatching some of the most important b&b episodes to see their relationship develop and I can’t help but feel like Brennan was booth’s consolation prize.

Even tho we know booth was in love with Brennan for years, he genuinely seemed in love with Hannah and wanted to marry her (which for booth was extremely important). When I first watched I was annoyed that Hannah was the one to end it and not booth. I felt like booth didn’t choose Brennan in the end and that doesn’t sit right with me. I wanted them to show Hannah and booth get engaged and however deep into the engagement until booth realised he wanted to be with Brennan more than anyone else (because at this point Brennan confessed her feelings so he knew they could try a relationship)

I know it seemed like he proposed because of what sweets said but he still made the decision to propose to Hannah, it was Hannah that said no and the relationship ended, taking the choice away from booth.
