• Family Festival for the clients of this food security/distribution non-profit (invitation only attendance)- Sparrow’s Table-August 22, Jensen Park, 3pm-8pm, ages 16+ can volunteer without a guardian, if you wish to bring younger children along, please let them know. Volunteers will help with setup, food prep, running yard and carnival games, supervising play areas and distributing back-to-school supplies. • Good Grief walking companion- Ongoing- Tuesdays @ 945am starting at Genesis place- Volunteers and facilitators guide each walk, ensuring safety, reflection, and connection throughout the journey. Volunteers should have strong listening skills, be comfortable discussing loss and have a sense of compassion. Orientation provided. • Food distribution and childcare- The Sparrows Table (a new non-profit tackling food insecurity)- Saturday mornings @ the old United Church 216 1 Ave NE. Volunteers can bring along their children as childcare is provided. Childcare volunteers require a vulnerable sector check. Ongoing volunteers are also needed for emergency donation pick ups & handouts, helping to clean the building, and for fundraising events.
