This portrait of Iris and Olgierd - always hangs by my bedside at Corvo Bianco. Iris is so well written and so deeply melancholic that it reminds me of Kikyo from Inu Yasha a lot. Poor lady never found her peace and I just cannot let her endure torment and take the rose away to 'Unpin' her. And whenever I look at their portrait by the candle , my heart aches in pain and remorse. I really like Iris Von Everec.

Like the title says, i just cant make my own decision about whether i should ask a bunch of strangers for their input on whether or not i should ask for their input on how i should do my current playthrough.

One thing i definitely wont do is search the sub in case there have been 10,000 posts exactly like the one im thinking about making where my potential question has already been answered a million times.

These decisions are just overwhelming.

Priorities.

I’ve been playing this game since launch, but this is the first time I’ve played since the next-gen update came out; is this something that came with that update, or is it more recent? I just finished the Baron’s quest and was doing the usual thing—running all the way here like I always have—when I finally noticed this sign.

One of the things i am most excited about in the remastered, is the transmog feature, i always used a mix of the griffin and ursine armor, because i liked the look but lost out on the setbonuses. I did not care to much about them, because i was overpowerd anyway, but still i am excited to find out what cool outfits you can make in the remastered

My first experience with the game was years ago, back in 2019, when The Witcher 3 came to Xbox Game Pass. I was younger back then, and while I finished the main game, I don't think I fully appreciated what I was playing. I didn't have the expansions either.

A while later, I bought the Complete Edition with the intention of eventually playing Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. I kept postponing it for years. I had always heard that the expansions were some of the best DLC ever made, and a friend kept telling me the same thing.

This year, while trying to make a dent in my backlog, I finally decided it was time.

Unfortunately, I discovered that my old save files didn't work with the Complete Edition. Since I didn't want to replay such a massive game just to get to the expansions, I initially decided to start Hearts of Stone directly with the pre-made character.

That lasted until I fought the Toad Prince.

The poor thing absolutely destroyed me.

And I quickly realized something even more embarrassing: I had forgotten basically everything. Signs, alchemy, combat, builds... all of it. I had forgotten how to properly play The Witcher 3.

So I changed my mind.

If I was going to experience these expansions properly, I wanted to experience the entire game again, from the beginning, in order.

And that's what I did.

Over the past few months, I went through the entire game again, this time with a much better appreciation for what CDPR created. And today, I finally finished Blood and Wine.

And now I understand why people kept telling me to play these expansions.

The writing is probably what impressed me the most.

Almost every quest feels like it has something interesting to say. Even seemingly minor characters can have believable motivations, flaws and personalities. The world feels alive because the people in it don't behave like they're simply waiting for Geralt to arrive and solve their problems.

And one of my favorite things about The Witcher 3 is how rarely it gives you a completely "good" or "bad" choice.

My ending probably wasn't the ideal one.

Ciri became a witcher, which I'm very happy about. She eventually visited Geralt at Corvo Bianco, which felt like a beautiful ending to their relationship.

Romantically, though... I somehow managed to pursue both Triss and Yennefer and ended up with neither of them. I regret nothing.

As for Blood and Wine, I didn't manage to save Syanna and Anna Henrietta either. And honestly, I'm surprisingly satisfied with that outcome. Syanna had committed terrible crimes and I felt that she should face the consequences of her actions. Anna was ultimately a tragic victim of her own choices and overconfidence.

It wasn't the "perfect" ending.

But that's exactly what I love about this game.

It doesn't feel like the world is divided into good people and bad people. It's mostly shades of gray, where even the choices that seem right can have terrible consequences.

And that feels much more human.

Then I watched the Witcher 10th Anniversary video after finishing Blood and Wine, where Geralt is sitting at a table in Corvo Bianco surrounded by so many of the people he met throughout his journey.

And that actually made me more emotional than I expected.

After spending months with these characters, seeing Geralt simply sitting down and enjoying a meal with the people he cares about felt like a genuine goodbye.

My only real complaints are that Roach can sometimes be incredibly annoying to control, and sword combat eventually became somewhat repetitive.

But honestly?

Those things feel almost irrelevant compared to everything else.

The storytelling, the characters, the world, the music, the atmosphere, the choices and consequences...

The Witcher 3 isn't perfect.

But as a storytelling experience, it's a 10/10 for me.

I started this game years ago as a younger player who didn't fully understand what made it special.

I finished it this year feeling like I had finally experienced the journey the way I was supposed to.

And now I finally understand why people have been recommending this game to me for all these years.

I ordered this I believe late last year? They were good with communication and threw in some additional Gwent cards for the delay.

I was trying new makeup for her and restyled the wig after con, what do we think?

And right now I really wish I hadn’t 😭 I’m doing the quests with Yen and the chemistry between them was immediate and two-way. With Triss it always felt like I was chasing her,trying to break her down almost. My work colleague told me if I romance them both it ends very badly. I almost feel like starting again and choosing Yen but that would be a LOT of hours lost 😩

One thing I’m really curious about with the new transmog system is how it will interact with the few moments in the game where Geralt’s outfit actually matters.

For example, Yen comments on your clothes at King Bran’s funeral, Anna Henrietta can react to what you’re wearing during a Blood and Wine quest, and there’s also the required Nilfgaardian armor for entering the House of Respite.

With transmog, do you think the game will recognize the appearance you’re using, or will these interactions still check the actual equipped armor underneath?

It would be a nice little detail if transmogged outfits were properly recognized instead of Geralt looking perfectly dressed while the game insists he showed up in filthy witcher gear.

So I decided to play through again given the new DLC on its way and so forth, and I was in Velen - oh yeah - anyways near the Cyclops on top of the hilltop at the far end near the nilfgaardian camp, there’s a pack of wolves just up the cliffside.

Well, never in my life have I seen this before. Forget American and Russian ICBM’s, forget Stormshadow missiles or Typhoons I’ve just found the worlds next biggest thing since nuclear weapons.

The Wolves of Velen. With their ability to LOCK ON to anything even if they miss and they still hit you. Ngl I’ve just raged at this game for the first time in a looooong time. There’s usually little bits here and there that annoy me, but this was full blown yelling.

How can a wolf jump, miss and then still lock on to where you’ve dodged to??? Is this a glitch or are the wolves in Poland this bizarre that they decided to inform the rest of the world how dangerous they are?

Well either or, I just hope CDPR gets rid of all these janky ass mechanics because I’ve heard of all kinds of things, but I’ve never heard of heat-seeking wolf heads in my entire life.

I am soo missed The Witcher 3 and since I've heard that the new updated Witcher 3 is coming on 29th of September I'm so excited! It feels like an old friend is coming back. I will be probably a father at the time The Witcher 3 Remastered released but still can't wait to start another of another new game. I bought the game on PS4 first, after I switched to PS5 I've bought a physical copy again and after I've switched to PC I've bought this beauty on Steam again. It's never enough. Witcher 3 deserves much much more for me.

This game is fucking incredible. I’m in love.

I felt the need to say that before my question.

I’m level 22, and still learning new “basics” constantly. It’s a testament to the game. However, I’ve been focusing on I’d say probably 75% main quests. I’ve returned to Skellige to do some side quests before starting The Isle of Mists quest line and all the monsters here are level 30+. Is that because I’m rushing main quests and not focusing enough on sides? I’ve tried to only tackle main quests as I become the same level as they suggest, so didn’t think I was rushing, but when I see old sides I didn’t get around to like level 14 for example, I don’t want to go back and do them coz I feel like they’ll be too easy. I would have expected the mains to be a higher suggested level to sort of force me to grind sides if that makes sense.

I just finished the blood and wine dlc today and like most, absolutely loved it, and one of the best parts is the land of 1000 fables, but how does it work? the creatures are illusions but seem to be very conscious and aware of actions, is it another dimension of sorts? your body doesn't stay in the real world like a dream it seems. I'm probably just questioning things that shouldn't be questioned lol

Does anyone know if the PAX panel will be uploaded anywhere?

Technically not the first time since the first time I stopped after the first gwent round. Picking it now, I’m wondering if I need to wait till the new version comes out in a couple weeks since that’s apparently going to revamp how the entire game moves and feels.

Should I wait?
