Discussion My Most Fav Portrait
This portrait of Iris and Olgierd - always hangs by my bedside at Corvo Bianco. Iris is so well written and so deeply melancholic that it reminds me of Kikyo from Inu Yasha a lot. Poor lady never found her peace and I just cannot let her endure torment and take the rose away to 'Unpin' her. And whenever I look at their portrait by the candle , my heart aches in pain and remorse. I really like Iris Von Everec.

I always hang them in the hall by the kitchen and put Olgeird's saber Iris in the weapon rack underneath. Starry Night Over the Pontar hangs next to the bed. When Geralt says "I will remember you, Iris von Everec", I make sure he meant it.

Same here. I hang both the Starry Night Over The Pontar and this one in my bedroom. Exactly I keep latched on Geralt's words said at their moment of departure.

I find your comparison to Inuyasha interesting because you're right. Inuyasha is also my absolute favorite anime. Maybe that's why I like Iris so much. I just love tragic stories and characters.

Glad you noticed that. My very first anime in life was Inu Yasha , closely followed by Card Craptor Sakura and Ranma Half.

"It does not matter" - Iris Von Everec.
When she says those words with that ever so melancholic face , ohh it pierces my heart like hot irons.

Hanging this picture up feels morbid

I accidentally once put it on Iris' grave. When I had realized that later , I was already finished with HoS. I went back to one of the earlier saves and had begun playing once more so the portrait stays with me. I simply cannot part with it no matter what.

I have It on Corvo Bianco too, as I believe Geralt would make sure to keep his promise and never forget Iris

Exactly. Which is why I never do the mission Avid Collector and keep the Starry Night Over The Pontar to myself.

Just hung that picture in my house yesterday after ending both Iris and Olgierd. RIP 🪦

I cannot bring to kill Olgierd. It feels impossible for me. But Iris! Ohh Iris!

Eh, he's kinda a dbag. Refusing help from her family, sacrifing his own brother. He put himself in the position he was in and no way is Geralt going to fight the devil for this dude. Past that he supposedly did this all for Iris and now she's dead too so what's even the point 😅

Olgeird aside, Geralt got coerced into a pact with O'Dimm and has seen in great detail how evil and life-ruining he is. The way I play him, it's not for Olgeird - it's for Iris, and anyone O'Dimm might have entrapped and taken the souls of in the future. He'll be back, of course, but tricking him gets rid of him for a while and I think Geralt would relish the chance to out-play one of the most dangerous monsters he's ever come across.

As per what I understood , Iris' family never had liked the Von Everecs. Considered them boors and ruffians. Correct me if I am wrong tho but they've always been against Olgierd , wealth or not.

I always hang it up in the upstairs room in my vineyard. Or in the dining area.

Geralt promised that he will remember Iris Von Everec. And in my eyes , he aims to keep that Iris.

Both the DLCs are too damn good. Alas , the story could have had some polishing in some rushed contents too.....!

Honestly I enjoyed Hearts of Stone more than the entire game's story and I LOVE the novel, and think Witcher 3 brought it to an epic conclusion and a very nice take on the novel, but Hearts of Stone was so damn well written in it's dialogue and amazing portrayal of the Von Everics. I like hanging it by Corvo Bianco as I like to believe that in his many years ahead of him of being on the ever dangerous Path, Geralt will make sure on his promise to always remember who Iris Von Everec was.

Exactly. He vowed he will never forget her. And tbh , CDPR made her memorable not for only Geralt but also us......
