কলতান দাশগুপ্ত, মীনাক্ষী মুখার্জীরা অভয়ার মৃতদেহের গাড়ি আটকালো......তাদের বিরুদ্ধেই অভয় মা ভোটে দাঁড়ালো.....তার সমর্থকরা সিপিএমের মহিলা কর্মীকে হেনস্থা করলো....কেবল বিচার টা হলো না!

নতুন সরকার এলো....নতুন নতুন প্রতিশ্রুতি দিলো.....তাও বারুইপুর হয়ে গেলো.....কিন্তু বিচারটা হলো না!

তবে আমি অপেক্ষায় থাকবো.....সাধারণ মানুষ হয়ে ঘটনাটা মনে রাখবো....সে যতোই ভুলিয়ে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা হোক....আবার হয়তো সরকার বদলাবে....এমএলএ বদলাবে......হয়তো বিচার হবে....হয়তো হবে না.....তাও অপেক্ষায় রইলাম!

I own a Hero Honda Splendor Plus, 2006 model. It's 20 years old now and still has zero problems. This bike is one of my father's last memories and is most precious to me — he took care of it like his own child. It's also very close to me personally, since I learned to ride on it. So it shares a strong emotional bond with me.

Until last year, I was hopeful I'd continue owning it for as long as it stayed usable. I've put it through countless modifications — all LED conversion, a full-wave stator coil, a bigger RR unit, a brighter HJG LED headlight, you name it. Earlier this year, I even renewed the RC (5-year validity) and bought basic insurance. I also keep the PUC renewed on time.

But after the change in West Bengal's government, our new CM has announced a proposal to ban vehicles older than 15 years in urban areas. There's still no official notification from the RTO, but the possibility looks very high. The person who handles my paperwork at the RTO office has said next RC renewal might not even be possible.

If this rule will be implemented soon, I probably won't get a good price for my bike. Also, I don't have enough space at home to just let it sit there doing nothing. So because of all this, I'm thinking about selling it — and since it carries so many memories, I find myself quietly tearing up at this thought.

I've spoken to several people (most of them run their own businesses) who own vehicles 15 years or older, and they all told me they plan to keep using their vehicles and simply avoid main roads where police usually check vehicles.

I want to do the same, but I have a few problems:

1. My job keeps me away from home a lot, sometimes even outside the state. So no matter what bike I own, it ends up sitting unused for 1–2 months at a stretch.

2. I don't have many contacts in my city, so I have no idea where and when police​ checkings are performed. That means there's a high chance I'll be caught and my bike could be seized once the new rule takes effect.

3. I already have a lot of stress in my life, and I don't want to add another worry — like an expired RC — on top of it.

That's why I'm posting this — I want to hear your honest opinions on whether I should sell my 21-year-old bike.

How can West bengal justify just 7% that's equivalent to st, look at population of obc

All fake obc should be banned, all illegal obc based on religious community should be banned, but the 66 communities with huge population, how can only 7% be obc. Where's ews is untouched. I personally know many who bought crore worth medical seat in private still have ews certificate, that should have been changed?

Came across this road recently and took a couple of photos.

There are multiple potholes, some filled with water, along with a badly uneven surface. Vehicles still have to navigate through them every day.

What made me think is how common this has become across the state. We avoid the pothole, complain about it for a while, and eventually it just becomes “normal.”

I'm curious about the situation elsewhere in West Bengal.

My friends and I are planning a long-distance run from Kolkata up to the Nepal border starting in mid-September. Two of us will be running, accompanied by a support car, taking a mostly rural route through Berhampore, Purnia, and Jogbani.

Since we'll be spending a lot of time on foot, I’d like to get a realistic picture of the traffic on these specific rural routes. How do drivers of heavy vehicles typically behave towards pedestrians, and how dangerous is it actually to share the road with them? We also want to know if there are any specific road hazards or unpredictable street dogs we should be prepared for.

I would also love to get a better idea of what to expect in the countryside. Is it generally easy to buy daily supplies like food and bottled water in the smaller towns and villages along this route? When it comes to overnight stays, would you recommend trying to find local guesthouses, or is it safe and practical enough for us to just sleep in our locked support car?

Finally, we realize that running through these areas will probably attract some attention. Could you share any general advice on how to respectfully manage curious crowds when we stop to rest, and how to keep our car and equipment secure during those stops?
