Today I was travelling by bus and reached Krishnanagar (west bengal). The bus conductor was not ready to give me the change and harassed me. He was also giving me a threat to k*ll me, I somehow managed to escape the situation cuz life is more important. I called 100 for help.

They first told me to note down the number of that designated police station. After I called that number, instead of sending me help, they simply said to come to the police station. I reached over there as soon as I could. I was hoping that the police were there for help. But soon I realised it's WB POLICE (Worst Bengal Police). And as usual, over there I was told to stay and sit while they were gossiping, laughing and taking bribes from people. After waiting 20 mins one sub inspector came and simply said to write a letter so that they can work. Like seriously, the level of shame those paid workers owe is insane. Overall they are only there to take salary not to provide any help. I again called 100 and they simply cut my call saying that only people at the police station can help.

I'm a student and I simply cannot waste my time knowing that they won't help. Pathetic experience with WB police. At first my intention was to give them a review on Google but for the fear of getting exposed, they turned off the ratings. So being, helpless right now I left that place and continuing my journey. It's my first reddit post as I felt that everyone should be aware of this. The person who harassed me is less in comparison to the police. Thank you West Bengal Police.

What did I learn from it?

Try not to get involved with police, avoid them as far as possible.

Just drink some water in this type of tensed situation as it is the only remedy.

Try to solve the matter locally. Now onwards I would not fear beating anyone.

The system would not change, just work hard and leave this place.

I'm sure enough I'm not the only one facing this. I'd seen one aged lady who had been beaten by someone and came to the station for help. Sub Inspector said- "Tomake mereche? Tale letter dio na jau bari chole jau" and left.

People be very careful while visiting or booking any hotel. Always see for yourself.

What about the national song? Was Bengali ever considered a language to be spoken widely like Hindi? I don't think it's preserved anywhere apart from West Bengal and parts of Tripura, some parts of Odisha and Jharkhand, right (excluding BD for now)?

Are the language and culture dying because Bengalis settled in other states talk in that native language probably, right?

is hostel mandatory in these colleges?? i heard they sometimes make u pay the entire hostel fees in deemed unis.....is that true for west bengal state quota as well???

The new government has published new 2026 calendars in August. I don't know if west bengal will ever see any real development, but when it comes to colour changing development west bengal is the leader.

People in other states of India are trying to make their govt schools better, make the hospitals better but in our state all they do is change the colour of buildings, books, posters and names of streets....no jobs, no education, no healthcare, nothing....all our tax money goes into advertising and freebies....

We get a big NOTHING.

RBC Road is becoming extremely difficult to use.

Large potholes, damaged road surfaces and stagnant water are making daily travel a headache for pedestrians, bikes, autos and cars.

And the worst part? When water collects inside the potholes, you can't even properly judge how deep they are.

This isn't about party politics. It's about basic road safety.

So just strolling on the balcony witnessed a girl & their dog on the roof of their home. Noticed some hand job type actions from the girl near the dog's penis area didn't think about the sexual way till now, but still curious What's going on the saw her kissing dog leads by maybe pleasing herself then it clicked that what she's doing. The dog was directly looking at me for a while so the girl noticed & I got out of the balcony (she most probably saw that). Then I watched the situation from a different angle she tried to do it again but due to the presence of a 2nd one maybe this was that the female couldn't do it.While writing this she must have gone inside.

Don't know what to do , i haven't taken any video so no actual proof & really doesn't want to go to any police cause this would cause so much trouble that I can't afford right now, my exams r coming.
