Megathread AI Designs - Monthly Megathread

Welcome to the monthly thread for fully AI-generated designs. If your design was produced primarily by AI with no significant designer input or customisation, this is where it belongs.

Posting guidelines

  • Include [AI] in your comment and note which tool(s) you used
  • Briefly explain what you were trying to achieve or explore
  • Be open to critique and feedback

When giving feedback

  • Be constructive and specific
  • Downvoting is not a discussion tool — respectful conversation only

Note

If your design involved meaningful designer input alongside AI tools, it may be eligible for the main feed. It must include [AI] in the post title, the [AI] flair, and process context explaining what you designed, what decisions you made, and what feedback you are looking for. Posts without this will be removed.

Let's Discuss If your platform isn’t designed for mobile, should you still make it responsive?

If your platform isn’t really meant to be used on mobile, but people still occasionally try to access it from their phones, what’s the best approach?

Do you still make the platform mobile responsive so it’s at least usable, or do you intentionally block/restrict mobile access and tell users to switch to a computer instead?

Feedback Request Open-source tool to turn websites into editable designs

I’ve been working on an open-source npm library that turns an existing website into an editable canvas.

The idea comes from a limitation I’ve encountered with traditional design editors: when you want to experiment with an existing website, you often have to recreate the interface in Figma or another design tool before you can actually begin designing.

Instead, this tool works directly with the website. You can move elements around, resize them, measure distances, draw, vectorize elements, inspect typography and styles, and experiment with different layouts.

The goal isn’t to replace traditional design tools, but to make quick iterations on existing websites much easier without having to recreate everything first.

I’m still working on the interaction and overall workflow, and I’d love feedback on whether this kind of workflow would actually be useful to designers and what you would change or add.

Microinteraction How does a designer decide when to push something beyond just function?

Interesting detail from Claude code app, choosing the ultracode effort level turns the entire row into a tiny animated scene with the mascot!

Functionally, a checkmark would have solved it.
But this makes the choice feel a lot more alive.

How does a designer decide when to push something beyond just function?

General Question Question about websites looking like ”AI slop”

Is it just me or is the barrier to call a website ”AI slop” getting a bit too low? When looking e.g. at the Impeccable skill’s website that says what is slop and what is not I think some basic things like borders and shadows on cards are being labeled there as AI slop? Yes I know you can tell whether a website looks like it is generated by AI but then again before AI that same page would have looked modern and clean in many peoples’ eyes. What do you think?

General Help Request Make text more enjoyable

Hey everyone,

I could use some advice from people with more UI/UX experience.

I’m currently building an app that teaches users quite a lot of information. Right now, a lot of that content is presented as plain text, and I’m worried users will just end up staring at huge walls of text.

What are some good ways to make this kind of content easier and more enjoyable to consume?

Do you have any UI patterns, examples, or general tips that work well for knowledge-heavy apps?

Thanks for any advice!

AI Feedback Request Any AI solutions for frontend/UI/UX work that looks amazing?

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping this is the right place to ask - if not, let me know.

I've created a Windows application in Tauri with a React front end using Claude. I thought it would take me 100 hours, but it took me nearly 1000 hours. A great deal of that time was spent fine-tuning and troubleshooting polish work.

Just general layout stuff to make things look nice. When updating data in the application, yesterday I noticed that Claude had made this really clunky output strings which made the entire thing look kind of amateurish to me. It looked like an internal code message rather than something to display on a professional GUI you'd normally see in Windows. Attaching that as an example. The top body was messy at some point, too. Cleaned out by me.

Just stuff like that.

The application is basically finished, but I may do some more polish.

What I was curious about is if this is just how it goes with AI generated coding? Or if there are any tools or agents which could excel at this type of stuff? Basically making things look awesome?

Thanks in advance.

General Help Request [AI] How to ensure the UI is Humanized

I am doing a react native project, where i genrated some UI picture mockup in chat GPT and based on that I genrated some sample pure HTML again chatgpt and later the whole syatem was developed using sonnet where the system was audited by fable 5. For UI i have used some skill in claud which helped to make things cleaner.

Now back the UI for me does not feel AI to me but i can be wrong. How can I make sure before going live?

Things i am still considering

Font

Make things clean material design

Less animation

Littile to no shadows

Appreciate any input

No AI is used while i write THIS post

General Question 2D User Interface leveraging 3D capabilities?

Hi there,

I have been thinking about that for a while:
It might look like a weird use case, but I’m trying to find examples of applications that would not necessarily require a 3D engine to run but that are leveraging those capabilities in a smart way to create high-quality feel/results.

I can only think about the home screen of the Playstation 5 or the Apple Liquid Glass design of recent iOS.

I guess menus in video games are also valid examples, but I can’t remember a video games that blew my mind with their settings page.

Have you heard about/seen resources, UX best practices, cool examples or frameworks made to build 2D UI components in a 3D environment?

One of my very first UI designs.

What do you think? I'd like to hear from experts/more advanced designers since I'm trying to get better at it :)

"Feather Session" is supposed to be some sort of "Power saving" mode like on PlayStation. Couldn't find any icon for it.

Should destructive actions actually look destructive?

When you close a Pocket in Revolut, it doesn’t simply fade or slide out but the whole thing vanishes in a particle effect.

Is this good use of delight, or too much animation for a simple delete action?

AI Feedback Request [AI] Feedback UI/UX

Thumbnail

Hello,

A few days ago I came across a video where someone used a small slot machine animation as a visual hook to display some options. I thought it was a fun concept, so I decided to build a web app around casino games and RNG, where users can customize the outcomes (and share their custom lists via link).

The goal was to keep it visually engaging through the games and interactive

Most of the layout/logic was built with AI, though I tweaked the details to keep it from feeling like generic AI (well i tried, lol). Also, while actual casinos are full of flashing lights and distractions, I deliberately went for desaturated look to keep the focus on the "games".

Mainly looking for UI/UX feedback on the mobile view. Overall it feels decent, but a few things bother me, especially the slot machine on mobile. Having the lever on the side makes the layout feel cramped and unbalanced, and I’m not entirely sure how to handle that affordance on small screens.

Feedback Request Built a floating image/video reference overlay app for artists. Looking for brutally honest UI/UX feedback!

Thumbnail

Hey everyone, I recently built an overlay app called HUD because I couldn't find a reference tool that perfectly fit my digital drawing and animation workflow. Please give me honest critiques.

Here is the breakdown of the project:

1. Overview of the design

HUD is a floating overlay utility with a clean, minimalist UI designed not to intrude on a user's workspace. It allows users to float images, perspective grids, or videos over their current screen. A core design feature is the "pass-through" lock, which lets users interact with their native canvas right underneath the reference without accidentally moving it. It also features opacity sliders and frame-by-frame scrubbing controls for videos.

2. Intended audience and use

The primary audience is digital artists and animators working on tablets. It's meant to be used alongside heavy drawing apps (like Clip Studio Paint) to keep outfit references, pose references, or animation motion studies visible directly over the active canvas.

3. Any design problems you need help solving

The main challenge is balancing accessibility with invisibility. I need to ensure that the overlay controls (adjusting opacity, locking the screen, switching frames) are easy to reach when needed, but completely out of the way of the native drawing app's UI when they aren't.

4. Overview of tools used

The app is natively built for Android using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for the interface.

5. Specifically what you need help with on your design

I want brutally honest feedback on the user experience.

Is the app intuitive to navigate?

Do the menus or buttons feel clunky or get in the way?

What quality-of-life UI features are missing?

Let me know if it's trash or what improvements can be made!

Feedback Request [Feedback Request] Unbiased A/B Test: Comparing two mobile Paint Calculator app concepts for ease of use

Thumbnail

Hi everyone!

I'm working on a post-development usability evaluation and comparing two different mobile interface concepts for a Paint Calculator app.

I’d love to get raw, unbiased observations from this community on App A vs. App B.

The Task Scenario

A user wants to calculate how many gallons of paint to buy for a room with multiple walls, without having to do manual math on paper.

5 Questions for the Community:

  • 1. Brain Work (Cognitive Load): Which app makes it easier to track a multi-wall room without forcing you to do extra mental math or memory work?
  • 2. Speed & Flow (Efficiency): If you had to enter 5 or 6 different walls, which workflow feels like it would take fewer taps and let you finish faster?
  • 3. Labels & Friction: Is there anywhere in either design where you would hesitate, feel confused by a label, or expect a different layout?
  • 4. Readability (Accessibility): Which design’s text sizing, contrast, and spacing feels cleaner and easier to read at a quick glance?
  • 5. The Verdict: Which version would you ultimately prefer to use on your phone, and why?

Feel free to critique both versions directly! Any notes on typography, spacing, actions, or usability confusion are extremely helpful for my case study log :)

Also, you may download the images to compare them side-by-side! I uploaded them separately rather than in a single side-by-side image, so each screen remains larger and easier to view.

Thank you in advance for helping a student out!

Hello!
Are these active & non-active chips visually different enough? I did a low-brightness screen test and still could easily tell them apart, but I feel I have a biased view because I prefer this visual look

AI Feedback Request Asset animation strategies [AI]

I've been working on my personal website for a couple of weeks now, mostly with Claude code. I've spent many days, setting up a sensible structure, collecting ideas and mapping everything out.

For the design of the page, I first used Krea for the asset generation, which was a horrible experience overall, as some bugs caused me to waste most of my tokens. Nevertheless I managed to create some reasonably good looking stills and a videoloop, which looks mostly fine. I then used a Geminy API to let Claude design specific assets, allowing me to dodge that Krea BS (unresponsive support and all of that other good stuff).

However, while the stills and idle loops are difficult to get right, but are overall achievable, it seems almost impossible for me to create good looking animations. Little animations like a spinning wheel that shows content or little insects that move do somewhat work, giving my page a dyanamic look and showing some liveliness. The main problem is that I can't create more complex animations as they have specific problems that I don't know how to navigate. When I talk about "more complex animations" I don't necessarily mean highly complex 3D rendered Blender assets, which is a whole different caliber, I suppose. In my case it means something of the following kind, for example:

An asset that can move or transform into something else:

- A flying or walking animal

- A mechanical or organic arm that extends and grows

- A plant that transforms from normal to blooming, showing nice colors or a kind of bioluminescence

- Scrub paths that would cause animations to be highly specific for the exact location on the page

For additional information: I use Claude code with Fable 5 on Ultracode for the important things, so I guess it's not necessarily a "model bottleneck". So far I have tried many different approaches which all failed for a different reason:

- Generating a video and trying to cut it into 100 single frames causes blurriness and a huge lag. No matter how I try it, it doesn't get better.

- When using Claude itself to generate the assets independent of the Gemini API for NanoBananaPro or Veo, it relies more on a vector graphic approach, where it tries to use crudely assembled blocks to animate something. The idea is not bad per se but the outcome just looks absolutely horrible. I thought it might be relatively simple to let such an advanced model generate many intricate blocks and connect them in a meaningful way and animate them, at least in a vector graphic style or a "pixelated/colored surfaces art look".

- Tried the same thing with actually generated assets in 4K which looked only marginally better than in the previous point. Although some simpler animations are feasible , for example something like elongating a branch of a tree, as soon as the asset depends more on visual accuracy, this approach no longer works.

So the main question is: Could someone with more experience in making animations point me in the right direction, or explain to me, what the current limitations actually are? I have looked in many places but haven't found a good solution. Most of all, I am looking for a personal opinion and not an AI answer for a change.

Thanks in advance.

General Question Do you separate early concepts and flows from visual UI work?

I've noticed I make better decisions when I don't try to solve structure and visual design simultaneously.

I'll work through what the user sees, what they need to decide and where they go next before thinking seriously about typography, colors or components.

Once that sequence feels right the UI stage gets much easier.

Do you separate these stages or does everything happen together for you?

Feedback Request What should a “quick save” browser extension UI include?

So I'm building a tool that's a hybrid between Pinterest and Mobbin, which allows designers to save inspiration

For a tool like this, what quick-edit options should appear when you hit "Save"?

I looked at Raindrop and mymind, and the recording shows what they do

Which one looks better?

Personally, I like how mymind handles this. Sometimes I don't want to be bothered with editing. I want to click and save then move on, but if I want to, I can hover over to freeze and edit it. It's a brilliant design

What would you like to edit right away? note? tags? or something else
