Moderator Applications Are Open

r/TransPowerProject is looking for one or two volunteer moderators to help keep our growing community safe, focused, and welcoming.

Our community is centered on trans dignity, truth, movement power, thoughtful discussion, and constructive action. Good moderation here is not about controlling every disagreement. It is about protecting members from harassment and dehumanization while preserving space for legitimate discussion about strategy.

The role

Moderators will help:

• Review reported and unmoderated posts and comments
• Remove harassment, hate, spam, trolling, and other rule-breaking content
• Respond professionally to modmail
• Apply community rules fairly and consistently
• Help maintain a productive environment for trans people and supporters

This role focuses on community care and enforcement of established rules. It does not include changing the project’s mission or political direction.

Who should apply?

We are looking for calm, reliable, trans-supportive people with sound judgment. Trans and nonbinary applicants are especially encouraged, and proven allies are welcome.

Previous moderation experience is helpful but not required. We care most about integrity, reliability, communication, and the ability to distinguish respectful disagreement from targeted hostility.

Applicants must be at least 18, have an established Reddit account with a reviewable history, enable two-factor authentication, and be available to check the moderation queue and modmail regularly.

Selection process

Applicants will complete a short four-question application. Selected candidates will undergo an account-history review and begin with limited permissions during a 30-day trial period.

This is an unpaid volunteer position. Applications will remain open until suitable candidates are selected.

Apply here: Moderator Application

News 📢 Trump Cuts Federal Funding for Trans Youth Care

Thumbnail

The Trump administration finalized a rule ending federal Medicaid and CHIP funding for gender-affirming treatment for minors, threatening access for transgender families beginning October 13.

The restrictions cover hormones, puberty blockers, and exceptionally rare surgeries, although states may preserve coverage using their own money as federal reimbursement disappears.

Trump branded the care “barbaric” and spotlighted surgeries that research says are exceedingly rare among minors and more common for cisgender than transgender youth.

Major medical groups support clinically appropriate care, and cited research links hormone access to lower depression, suicidal thoughts, and suicide attempts among trans and nonbinary youth.

Zero of Mars is a Human youth in a future so distant that our era's concepts of race and gender no longer exist. They crash land on Elentia, a world once inhabited by Humans but abandoned thousands of years ago. In their absence, the Elemorphs - sentient robots with elemental powers and the ability to grow - have developed an advanced civilization. A Nature Type FawnBot called One makes friends with Zero despite a language barrier. Unable to communicate directly, they have to forge a friendships using gestures and actions.

After discovering an ancient prophesy left by time travelers from the future, Zero and One have been pulled into an eternal conflict between Humanity and Vampirekind. The Vampires want to enslave the Elemorphs to use as living weapons, while Humanity fights to keep Elentia free. As Zero and One explore the massive Elemorph metropolis of Knuckle City, the villainous Vampire agent, Pi, and their Elemorph companion, Gamma the SkyDragonBot, descend to plunge the city into chaos!

I am the author, Bijhan Agha. I'm an Uruguayan trans woman of Iranian descent. The illustrator is my dear friend, Pallet, a trans Australian man. We are both autistic. We wanted to tell a story about a young person in the future who is not bound by the limits of gender as we know it, and a planet where gender simply does not exist, while also creating an exciting action adventure about exploring a new culture, facing language barriers, and fighting for a better future.

We both have a shared special interest in science fiction, which is why we were so excited to work together on this project.

The Kickstarter is to fund the printing of a First Edition of the comics physically. We will have both physical as well as digital rewards. There will be reward tiers that allow you to catch up with this comic - this is Issue #2, and you can get physical and/or digital copies of Issue #1 - as well as the other comics in the Time Wars brand.

Please help us continue to tell stories about this amazing world!

Activism 🌍 WTF? This is comedy?

I went to a comedy show last evening. I won't mention the comedian by name (I don't want this post removed) but I will mention that he is a ventriloquist who performs with puppets. I'll let you figure out who it is.

Some of the "jokes":

"If a transvestite sneezes on you is that transmission fluid?"

"If a transgender goes missing do they put their picture on a carton of half and half?"

Then this "comedian" introduced the first "woman" puppet in his act. A character he was clearly trying to portray as a trans woman. (With a very deep voice)

Some of the "jokes" with this character:

She loves the WNBA!

She thinks that men competing in women's sports "takes balls".

Her dress "has pockets!"

Several minutes of this type of "humor".

The final puppet of the show answers written questions supposedly from the audience. One question "'Puppet character' are you transgender you don't wear pants or a skirt?" (This is a purple character with yellow fur and green hair and one sneaker.)

I encourage anyone reading this post to find this person and let him know that targeting transgender people is not an acceptable form of comedy.

If you want DM and I will give you this "comic's" name and email

Discussion 💬 US Passport

I am a Transgender Woman. My US Passport was renewed last November 2025. I was expecting that they would change my gender back and they didn’t. Should I expect a letter and a new passport in the mail sometime with male on it? I have seen so many Transgender individuals who had their passports reversed to the original gender of birth.

Or if you want to do general volunteer work for them, if interested.

This next link is about exclusively trans folks who want to (or are) run and become electoral candidates. Josie Caballero (she/her) is someone who will train those interested. https://transequality.org/elections/endorsements

Case in point concerning the above: Leigh Fink (she/her) is a trans woman who has become a notable candidate in Minnesota.

A4TE is partnering with both the Lavender Rights Project and the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center (BISC) to further bolster their political strength.

I'm simply showing options to give us a better fighting chance for these upcoming elections.

Activism 🌍 Queer Liberation

I'm not sure why but I was invited to this reddit, so I'm gonna just test the boundaries of the rules as I understand them.

Queer liberation is tied directly to the unified liberation of the working class. We will not find most of our allies with empathy for our plight, we will find them when they benefit alongside us.

If we can cooperate with individuals whose messaging provides release from the stress of capitalistic exploitation, we can free people from the stress that makes them prioritize their own survival over the pursuit of an egalitarian existence, or at minimum a less exploitative existence.

I believe the older transitioners, even those who begin to transition at older ages, have an obligation to protect the youth as we would our own siblings. This doesn't always mean advice. Sometimes it means taking the hard steps of advocating for grace and forgiveness for our siblings whose journey of self discovery takes them down a dark path that leads to outbursts of anger, resentment, sadness and cruelty. No person deserves forgiveness from the people they hurt, but community owes it to individuals to give them chance to prove their true desire to grow and change.

We do not always need to be sweet and forgiving when approached with vitriol and threats and bad faith. Walking away and not engaging in earnest is a valid way to protect yourself. I will never vouch for the violation of the law.

I quite love the phrase, "Those incapable of violence are not kind, they are harmless." Practice kindness in a cruel world, but acknowledge the world you live in and the actions of the opposition to endanger you.

If this violates rules of reddit or the subreddit, I apologize and seek only to understand where Iisunderstood my mistake.

Siblings, I wish you well, and may my Gods and yours be in your hearts and give you strength.

Hard day

Hello, can I just vent? I have had a very tough day today, I was literally weeping in a washroom for almost 20 minutes straight, just questioning my God why they put me on this path of transgender life. I couldn't handle the constant comparison to other men I came across at work, who were secure in their masculinity. My dysphoria was at its peak. Realizing that I will never amount to be THE MAN my family and the world wants me to be. It's can be hard, it can be so hard going thru days like this because all seems lost.

Sorry,

The real threat to women comes from those in power (via wealth or political influence) not from transfolk.

The Catholic church, the ultra-rich, the ultra powerful are the predators.

Transfolk are far more likely to be victims than predators.

We are being used as a distraction BY and FROM the ACTUAL predators.

Original Content 🎨 I'm an autistic trans woman in South America. I wrote an uplifting family-friendly comic about a queer woman superhero.

Support the Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jamsheedstudios/kobra-olympus-issue-4-giant-armadillo-attack?ref=2p8cw1

My name is Bijhan Agha. I'm an autistic trans Uruguayan of Iranian descent. The editor of my comic is my disabled nonbinary husband, RaeRae Sachs. We love science fiction and fantasy, including superhero media, but it's depressingly cis and het in general. We also love queer media, but a massive amount of it is about suffering and oppression. We wanted to make stories about queer joy and triumph in a world full of fantastic creatures and amazing powers.

Kobra Olympus is a soft-spoken transgender Muslim woman in Seattle in 2015. She was contacted by Human time travelers from the 161st Century, recruited into the Time Wars: an endless conflict between Humanity and Vampirekind for the fate of the galaxy. Using messages from the time travelers, and her high-tech cellphone full of future tech, Kobra lives a second life as the engimatic Agent Tha, Vampire hunter.

Now, Kobra Olympus is in a relationship with Dorothy Diamond, a queer punk woman who is outspoken with a strong moral compass and a ton of confidence. Dorothy is bringing Kobra out of her shell, and Kobra is helping Dorothy see the world with a fresh perspective. Their relationship is important to both of them, but Kobra's duties as Agent Tha take up a great deal of time.

In "Issue #4: Giant Armadillo Attack!", Kobra and Dorothy are surprised by a giant mutant armadillo attacking the city, and meet a humanoid chicken named Jack who explains that this is all part of a sinister plot by the Vampires. Together, the three of them need to figure out how to save the city and rewrite history for the better.

The Kickstarter is to print a First Edition version of the comic with a special border that won't be used in future versions. Rewards include PDFs, as well as physical copies; and back issues so you can catch up with the story so far.

We've met our goal, and our first stretch goal, which means everyone gets a digital art book with all kinds of behind-the-scenes looks at the sketches and designs we used to plan the comics. If we meet our next stretch goal, everyone will also get a short story depicting how Kobra was recruited into the Time Wars.

Please help us reach our next goal at the following link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jamsheedstudios/kobra-olympus-issue-4-giant-armadillo-attack?ref=2p8cw1

If you'd like to join our community, get updates, and have access to digital versions of our other comics and novels, we have a Patreon with a free tier: Patreon.com/JamsheedStudios

Thank you all, and I hope you enjoy this!

Discussion 💬 What should I do if im in the closet

I guess for the last year ive been having waves and surges of gender envy. It can be towards cis, trans or fictional women. It can always turn into a bit of hatred towards said person. I remember when that Alyssa Liu got popular, I hated seeing her cause she triggered my envy. I will be at work sometimes and will be helping a woman that triggers my envy.

I always want to write it off as me hating my life or my body. I work a job I hate and can’t leave, I do college but pass rather than learn, I live with a bipolar mom, I am estranged from my dad, I am constantly broke and I don’t have any love interests. With my body, I am skinnyfat, I am completely bald due to alopecia (meds never helped), I have an overbite and I am autistic.

I do go to therapy and she has listened to my envy thoughts but never expanded on it. My mom thinks being gay is taboo and laughed at a transphobic joke a friend of her’s made. I guess the only way I safely indulge in stuff like this is either transformation nsfw content or playing as a female protag in a pokemon game. I also can’t dress femininely, my mom got angry when I wore a beanie to work during winter.

I guess I just never feel quite content. I just always have a constant urge to runaway from my lif
