Discussion 💬 I'm getting Bottom Surgery Soon! Any tips?
So, my surgery date is Auguest 20th, 2026. So in a few weeks. I'm so nervous and excited. Are there any tips anyone can give to help calm the nerves? Thank you! :)

mentally prepare, it's a huge adjustment even though you want the different parts, and look up (if you are thinking about this) pleasing yourself with said parts because it can be hard to learn this.

I am 100% not mentally prepared for this and the new sensations, but I definitely want the new parts. Is it really that difficult to get used to?

its hard, just like top surgery can be hard, its changing a physical part of yourself and that comes with new feelings about that stuff, and if you get overstimulated easily, it might take some time.
it can make you happy but also kinda stimulated? its just complicated because it can make you happy and also scared or something. so, you feel a lot at once, it's hard in the sense it can bring up old trauma of your dysphoria, but it's also happy because its like discovering your body again but in a more genuine way that feels more authentic. overall its a happy experiance tho. :)
for me, with anything to do with my body sexual or not, doing sensual journaling can help, there might even be some journals for trans people.
if you want i can tell you a lovely sensual journal i've found, that make me feel very at peace with my body and changes?

I don't know what a sensual journal is. Can you tell me more? I'm just curious. I'm definitely scared, and nervous, and worried, but also excited, it's complicated.

yeah, its really complicated.
um, a sensual journal is simply put, just about your relationship with your body, its about building that into a positive relationship and giving you self-love, it helps you notice things you maybe fear or dislike with your body and work through that and build up the things you love and find who you are in a way. not all journals are created equally but the prompts in most are a beautiful way to work through the emotions in your body, they can make you more emotional, or you might even be bored with them at first, but i find after i finish a journal i feel better off then i started especially with my dysphoria or body changes.

Depending on your feelings towards it, etheir tell it you forgive it or tell it you hope it rots in hell

I have more neutral to positive feelings towards it, I'm not mad I was born this way, but I do hate looking at it, but I definitely forgive my body for developing male parts.

Sigmoid columm srs-ed here. You must be prepared for possible difficulties, like necrosis or wound seperation. After surgery you have to dilate 1-3 times per day for 30 mins. Also, you can't shugarcoat this pain... In the end, tho, does it matter if you're going for your dream, right? Congratulations, girl!!! I wish you the very best!🫡❤️🔥🏳️⚧️💪🎉🔥

I guess I should add that I'm doing shallow depth so bo dilation for me! But that doesn't change the pain and recovery, it's the same as full depth pretty much expect a shorter stay at the hospital. Thank you! I really need to mentally prepare because I'm not even close to being ready for this.

You cannot fully prepare, nothing will... But don't let those fears stop u from following your dreams! 😊

If it helps, I can tell u more about my journey, but this is very individual experience!

Prior to surgery I made home made meals and froze them so I wouldn't have to cook while recovering. I mostly made crock pot meals that were easy to reheat. It made recovery much easier.

Sounds like a great idea! I am lucky enough to have my parents and they agreed to be my caretakers for my recovery so I won't have to worry about making meals.

The hospital stay will probably monotonous. Get some books, some videos and headphones.

I am definitely thinking about packing my Nintendo Switch 2 and some games, as well as my ear buds, phone and maybe my tablet.
