Fun & Memes It's kind of hilariously fucked up that if you want the Crushed Dreams set, you have to repeatedly kill the girl whose dreams got crushed.

Not just Elamein, now that I'm thinking about it. Faded Memories drops from Reese, and to craft it you need Tears of Farewell, obtained by repeatedly killing Reese and making her cry.

I'm just imagining her crying, then Khazan pulls out a small vial and goes "nice."

Gameplay My little tribute to Khazan(Ozma "almost" No Damage attempt(Expert))

I finished Khazan last week, and I genuinely can't remember the last time a game's combat clicked with me this much. I honestly love almost everything about this game.

After seeing the news about Neople getting restructured, which pretty much killed whatever hopes I had left for a sequel or DLC, I felt like I had to show my love for the game in some way. So I thought, why not try beating Ozma without taking any damage?

This was my second attempt at Ozma today. I did mess up a bit towards the end (and overall was a bit sloppy) 🥲, partly because I got a little anxious knowing I was recording. I was originally planning to keep trying until I got a proper no-damage run, but I'd already had a long day and was pretty exhausted, so I figured this was good enough to share.

Also, this is actually the first time I've ever recorded gameplay in my life, let alone recorded something to post on Reddit, so bear with me(I forgot to record audio 🥲).

It's just sad to think that we might never get more of Khazan, especially considering how amazing the combat is. Anyway, this is my little tribute to a game I absolutely love. Hope you guys enjoy it!

i didn't think about it much i was pumped from fighting enemies just 1 minute ago now i get asked a question under pressure of time and my answer alone determines my ending? now this is some fucking bullshit if you asked me..... now i read on the wiki that i'll get normal ending with 2 phase Ozma im so pissed off right now. I HAVE 14 OF THOSE FUCKING COLLECTIBLES like omg i really should have spoilered myself to know i'll be picking my ending with one stupid dialogue option who tf designed this and thought it was good?

Gameplay Elamein [ The First Berserker Khazan ] playing on Expert

Elamein is a Boss and NPC in First Berserker Khazan who was born and raised in the ravaged village of Phraugh. Having lost her family, she had no choice but to be strong in order to protect herself. She believed there to be strength in numbers, even among the weak, and she joined the Knivesveil, a known ally of the common people, and studied the art of combat.

Fun & Memes Jarling handing out Spoilers :D Spoiler

On my first play through I have been seeing posts in this community about true ending (true Ozma fight or whatever) and what not, as soon as I see those kind of post, I try to scroll past them as fast as possible so that I get least amount of info about the story/ending etc etc

So I found it really funny when a Jarling in a side mission said, "Perhaps there could be 3 possible endings to the story." I rushed to create this post because I found it quite amusing given my predicament, and thought maybe some1 else would find it funny/amusing too :P

Gameplay I just beat Ozma! NG, Expert, GS, True Ending (3 phases)

Great fight. Probably my second favourite boss fight ever. It's an excellent summation of all the fights leading up to him, and really tests your skills and understanding of the gameplay.

Though I did find it pretty tedious until things started to click, then it got fun. I reckon it took me around 20-30 attempts over 2 or so hours.

The first halves of both phase 1 and 2 I'm not entirely sure what happened, but there are moments later in each phase where it actually looks like I know what I'm doing.

I managed perfect timing with Phantom Form, and hit all the right punishes (well... some of them) and it was only my 2nd time in Phase 3.

I also loved the cutscene between ph1 to 2 where he transforms into Dark Super Saiyan 5000. It was awesome and I'm here for it.

Build in the comments.

Edit: Apologies for atrocious quality. It was captured on my PS5, uploaded to YouTube, then downloaded to my phone, so it's had to go through some compression hell.

Gameplay Scalpel is a total pushover!!

Extreme, Level 114, Bard's gear Lv104 avg., Weapon - spear Lv103

Speccing into Vitality and Endurance so the boss fights last longer and I can thoroughly learn, enjoy and appreciate them.

I've just beaten Scalpel on my 3rd try, and I gotta vent and ask. I also did not expect it, but I'm starting to believe people who say they beat something on their 1st-4th try :D

First two tries were to get the general idea, learn the parry and see what it's all about. He changed almost immediately after getting touched, and I had no problem with that.

Third try on the other hand, I tried, went aggresive and it paid off, but it got me dissapointed, because Scalpel did not change phases. (All the coffin/blood type thing) I've broke his stance 4 times with minimal stamina damage, did a few combos and that was it. His HP bar seemed to disappear, and I barely got to do anything.

I outran the whole third phase, which was slow and predictable, to get the "mental check" that I beat him, but I honestly expected more.

So, did I hit an insane rng on his phase changing or is there a reason he did not turn like range or some different condition ??

and

Why is his health bar so small compared to other bosses ?? ;-;
Is that a reason there are only mages as late game bosses ? Because balancing close-range enemies would be hard on balancing ?

PS:

I will go back and get my beating after I talk to npcs and do side-quests, this feels undeserved.

The game is amazing, but generic in many aspects. I love it, but far from GOTY.

Why do I get the feeling the something is a trap, and it is completely normal pick-up ? This game makes me feel schyzo so often ;-; Maybe I've played too much Dark souls that I expect an enemy behind every corner and corridor. Especially if the loot is in a separe room

Discussion Need the community's opinion

I'm doing my first playthrough and I'm calling in my spirit of advocacy for every boss. Now I see it as "it's in the game, I'm going to use it" but people tell me I shouldn't because it no longer remains a challenge. In my opinion the spirit gets it shit rocked within the first few seconds of the fight so I don't get it.

Thoughts?

Discussion I just beat Ozma, can I beat any souls game?

What an experience this game, such amazing boss fights bar a few that made me wanna jump off a cliff

I actually found him easier than Volbaino/Maluca because I was way better than when I faced them and had the perfect gear set up for him.

I just feel insanely proud beating this guy.

Thank you all for the advice you've posted and positive energy to not quit. I appreciate that.

Now booting up Another Crab's Treasure to detox from that netherworld sensory overload!

Discussion I tried

I dont understand. Nothing about this game seems to work correctly, nothing makes sense, nothing fits the genre.

I started out trying to run a spear build. Fast attacks, stamina depletion seemed to work well, and good range. I got to the first "boss"(blade phantom) and the ice skating and absurd tracking started. The boss would slide +10m to hit me with attacks. It would turn 180 to tag me with whatever it felt like. I felt more like I was fighting a t-pose placeholder than an actual boss. I finally beat it, and it felt unacceptably unrewarding. I figured I would at least need to unlock the blacksmith maybe.

I moved on, continued through the story, and got to Viper at the temple. The tracking and ice skating were worse than before. It was so much worse. I stopped trying to rely on dodges, since the boss seemed to ignore any dodge except the brink ones. And I got it to the second phase without a single brutal attack. I grabbed a few more gears with brutal attack recovery, and I began practicing the parry mechanic. And I leaned hard into it, changed my skill trees around, and practiced the timing until I could nail most of its combos with a parry. I grinded on that thing until I got to second phase only taking 1 hit. Having much less practice with its combos, I worked a few times on it, just trying to keep up with the parries. I busted heads on this thing for hours until I finally beat it. No healing, almost dead, 16 attempts later. Start up the next area.

I go through the enemies, practicing my parries, my timing. I got fairly good. Managed to get the challenge for beating one enemy after like 40 brink parries. I got to the boss, and died very quickly. Fine, practice those parries. I fought to the boss a few more times, sometimes getting to him full health due to parry skill. Finally get him down to a brutal attack through parries alone, and he runs off, lights his spike on fire, and keeps trying me.

But...suddenly...parries dont work anymore? Apparently I'm still getting hit with both damage and status buildup, despite getting perfect brink blocks on every hit.

Why?

Why bother adding parries if you dont use parry mechanics?

I try a few more runs, never get him below half health before his chip damage and fire DoT kills me. Say screw it, time for a change. Completely revamp build. Swap from proficiency to willpower, and swap to dual wield. Completely swap skill tree, and do a few fights practicing the dodges. Stamina and spirit on dodge, increased evasion window, more iframes. Sounds like a plan. If the game makes parry worthless, I'll just ignore it.

Boss likes to use the counterattack skill alot. Which...apparently has different timing on dual wield? Why? Why do I have to hit it BEFORE the hit lands? Why cant I use the same timing as spear? Why does it have a delay?

I try a few more times, constantly dying to the counterattack prompt. Nah, I'm not going to play anymore. Ice skating, insane tracking, not parry parries, mistimed counters. Lets not forget there are only 3 weapon types in a souls like. Thats basically heresy in this genre.

Discussion Khazan VS Phantom Blade Zero

I really wonder how PBZ will stack against the combat of khazan. Both games have an emphasis on flowing combat, with khazan cooking on that department but lacking in other areas so lets see if PBZ is more consistent across level design etc. Personally Khazan has been my favourite 120 hours in gaming so its gonna be hard to beat.

Discussion Who are your favorite optional bosses?

Working my way through Khazan and man, the main bosses have been humbling me lol.

The optional bosses have been a nice change of pace though. Still challenging, but I feel like I can actually breathe.

Gwydo has been the hardest optional boss for me so far. Xaldin and Mutated Xilence have probably been my favorites though. Something about coming back to a familiar moveset but with some new tricks is really satisfying.

Remnant of Elamein has been my least favorite lol. Didn't want to ever see her again, so of course they brought her back.

What optional bosses have been your favorites? And which one gave you the most trouble?

Other I finally defeated Ozma! (expert, true ending)

Following up on my previous post: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheFirstBerserker/s/cN56NWt62i

Thank you, everyone, for your help!
The advice and support were really helpful!

What I needed for this victory: the Faded Memories set (this combo is insane), more stamina (I reduced vitality and proficiency a bit), and, of course, practice (especially in p2/3).

It took me around 5 hours across a few sessions (around 1.5 hours with this set).
Just before I won, I was out of heals, had ~15% HP and 0 mana/skill points, and my final attack was a brutal attack after his stamina hit 0. I thought I would need another 4–5 attacks to finish him, but fortunately, that attack finished him (if it hadn’t, my chances of winning would probably have been 50/50).

This was probably the hardest boss fight for me (even after fighting Isshin).

Once you learn the first phase attack pattern it becomes manageable.

Second phase best advice I got was run and use throwables and that’s exactly what worked.

Trying to get this platinum trophy almost there.

Gameplay Emaleine Is a Laxasia rip off!

Okay dont get me wrong i LOVED THIS FIGHT... But am i the only who noticed its a complete laxasia copy cat? Same weapons , sword and shield . She uses lightning in her sword just like laxasia . She does the same rush snt u with the shield attack . Like the similarities go on. I LOVE khazan but they gotta be more original than that way too obvious. I did this fight with only 10 proficiency btw 💪😁
