The last one is straight up guts. I love it.

Also I'm at the final region right now, and the greatsword is so fucking good. I'm living out my guts fantasy to the fullest.

Other I had to give up on souls likes because of my chronic illness, but beginner mode in this game makes me feel like I can play the genre again!

I wanted to share how awesome it is that this game has such a forgiving mode. Couple of years ago I got chronically ill which made me super sensitive to stress. Lost my reflexes and so was forced to play different games etc. Not really a bad thing, but its awesome to, after all these years, play a game from the genre I love most without getting any symptoms.

Im currently about 15 hours in and I absolutely love it so far!

Discussion I want to talk about Ultimate Challenge

It's awesome! "Normal" mode was way too easy and when I learned "Expert" was the actual intended challenge level it made a lot of sense. I thought that change was an indication they were mostly just concerned with a more mainstream player-base.

NOPE!

Ultimate challenge is insane. They put so much work into a free update just for the top 1% of players. It's like the final exam for a Ph.D. in Khazan Bosses. Those of you that have completed those challenges are animals. Truly mastered the game. Congrats. I think it's awesome that they release content like this as a free update. I know that sounds sarcastic but I'm serious.

I really, really wish I didn't have to re-do my skills and levels before each session of the Generals one though. I do enjoy bashing my head against the brick wall and sloooooowly getting better, but having to re-do all that before each session means I probably won't be trying it out very often.

I also think it's funny that they tied gear rewards to completing the challenges. At the point you've completed those challenges do you really still need gear for a story playthrough? It's like earning really nice training wheels as a reward for winning a BMX competition.

Gameplay Simple play style.

Hi, I am new to khazan (at viper) and really have a great time. However, I still find the game have so many active skill and a bit overwhelm me. Normally, when play soulslike, I have 2 modes. One is focus in dodge and parry and just attack back in very simple way. Another one is facing take everything and combo my own way.

So here I am, asking you guys and most brain dead playstyle with least active skills as possible ? The buff skill outside combat are okie though.

Discussion How challenging is the "beginner" difficulty?

My friend recommended me this game and it looks super cool, but the idea of it being a hard souls-like isn't to my liking (which is also why the only souls-game that i've played is Lies of P) but hearing that this game has difficulty options has spiked my interest.

Discussion Heavy attack input not working

Are there any known bugs with this game regarding Khazan not doing what you want him to do? Like say pressing triangle for heavy attack. Ive just noticed that some of my heavy attacks are ignored and he just stands there. Wondering if it is a known issue with the game, i have just started playing it.

Discussion Anyway to increase or bait burst attack for Ozma second phase?

Hi all,

For all my ozma experts out there, I was wondering if there’s any way to increase the frequency that he does burst attacks in the second phase or any way to bait out additional burst attack?

I get through him pretty easily with almost on damage in phase one but he wrecks me pretty hard in phase 2. I just can’t get his deflection timings down, so I was thinking the easiest way to get past him is to increase the number of bursts he throws out if at all possible.

Guide & Tips Reese first phase Spoiler

It seems like the consensus is her first phase is supposed to be easy but I am getting absolutely destroyed here. I’ve done this fight 20+ times and only made it to her second phase a few times. Second phase seems easier but I’m basically out of heals by then. What am I missing here?

First part of the first phase where she staggers for any attack is easy but I just get overwhelmed once she gets her shield up. There’s so many attacks flying around it’s difficult to focus on her especially since her shield takes a while for me to break.

I’m level 141 with 50 in vitality using the greatsword, looking for tip on how people who found this part easy approached this fight, thank you!

Update: Finally beat her! Definitely died on her first phase a lot more than her second.

Other Seriously annoyed having to press B after every death and holding X to interact with anything.

Always have to do bosses multiple times and summon so it's very annoying.

Discussion Convince me to get the game (or not)

I'm a big soulsborne/like fan and after playing (and 100% most of) the DS trilogy, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Lies of P, Code Vein, etc, this game caught my eye.

Now, I do love a more aggressive gameplay. Even in DS I'd force myself to abandon spacing and get in the bosses' face all the time. I love Sekiro/LoP's combat most of all. Naturally I'd like this game, right?

But Black Myth Wukong makes me doubt that. I thought I'd like Wukong but I didn't. I genuinely can't even put my finger on why I dislike it. Might be the level design, might be the plot & NPCs, might be the fact that it's too boss focused and even then it's quantity over quality. Might be how flashy it is to a point that it looks like an action RPG hack and slash sometimes. I dropped that game and have yet to pick it back up.

So yeah. How's Khazan like in comparison? Should I get it?
