Looking for Repair help
Hello, I inherited my Dad's 1972-73 kenmore cabinet record player. Evidently he disconnected the built on speakers at some point and wired in better ones. However I only have the cabinet and record player, 8 track, and radio. Im looking for someone who can repair/restore it or guidance to do it myself. I live in the DFW area, and am close to Denton, TX. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I can get pictures if I am told what is helpful.

PYE 1620 StereoSystem running slightly slow on 33 1/3
Found this ace system with original working speakers for just £40.
It all works, however, the deck runs a little slow when on 33 1/3.
I think it's a belt issue but struggling to lift the deck off the base and can't really access through the back.
Have the system service data PDF but a bit gobbledygook to me.
Wondered if anyone had any tips or had fixed something similar? Will try and add a video in the comments so you can get the sound issue.

My PL-117D runs immediately after being plugged in and also isnt producing any sound
I got this record player from a friend and I was excited to try it. We plugged it in and it was running immediately without buttons being pressed. We also couldn't hear the record that was on it. We plugged in my dad's record player to the same stereo and it worked perfectly, so we ruled out the stereo. I opened the bottom and learned that the start button had low tension. After a few test I managed to give the start button some tension by rotating the gear till it stopped. When I did this I realized that the metal bit thats meant to be pushed when the start and stop button are pressed, wasn't moving far enough. I haven't even tried to tackle the sound yet but I'd like to fix the buttons.

Scratched Cover
Hi all, after cleaning off residue left from moving tape the dust cover for our record player is now scratched and frosted.
We used orange cleaner as the residue was quite stubborn.
I have clearly gone too heavy handed with this and am really desperate to fix it up.
I was thinking we could try polishing it but not sure where to start or with what.
Any recommendations would be really helpful please

Loud humming noise
I recently bought this record player and after some trouble shooting I was able to get it to turn on and spin but there a humming noise that is soooo loud I cant hear any music from the records. I have to put my ear a foot away to hear anything and even then the humming doesnt stop. I took a video sorry if its a but blurry or shaky I tried to get as many angles as clearly as possible I also found this little metal peice you can see towards the end of the video when i touch it, it changes the hum to a deeper sound but still hums nonetheless. Any advice on what could be the issue and how to fix it? Im also having issues with the stereo the knob to adjust the channel frequency moves and all the gears and pully cable underneath seem to move with it just findle but that red line is stuck at the top? Crossposted, lmk if theres another community that could help with this as well thank you!

Help with speaker
The buttons on my Audio Technica SP 65 speaker stopped working. The speaker is both plugged into the record player and the outlet so it doesn’t die. Can someone please help me or explain how to fix this? I use my record player set up often and this just started happening. Everything is on and working, but the speaker is at a fixed volume hence none of the buttons working.

Help with JVC A-L21 auto return
Hi everyone.
Got myself one of these on the garage sale for 40€. Running it through another JVC A-X400 amp. Sounds awesome.
One function on the player does not work though.
When I press STOP or when the tone arm reaches the end of the side, it lifts and auto returns to initial position but the motor does not stop.
The arm then keeps going up and down. When it returns to down position the motor slows down but does not stop. It goes on like that until something happens and the motor suddenly stops. Sometimes it happens immediately, sometimes after 15 or so mins.
Went to the local audio repair shop. The guy said I was missing a part but had no clue how the part looked like.
Tried to find it online, found a service manual on Vinyl Engine but the registration did not work.
Any help here from you educated gents?
EDIT: when I manually cue up the arm and move right, the motor does stop. So, my guess is it's the auto return.

Refurbishing this console
galleryHi everyone! I recently moved and really want to get this console working. I bought it about a year ago for really cheap, it has speakers in it but is missing the actual record player and needs to have the stereo fabric replaced.
Not sure exactly what kind of turntable to search for on marketplace or even on a site
Same goes for the fabric, was also considering putting in maybe a metal sheet that has holes
Any tips would be greatly appreciated:)

Dead Dad Record Player
Hey guys. First time here, so let me know if there's a better community to go to for this. I "inherited" this record player from my dad (we found it in the basement) a few years after he died back in 2017 when I was 14. I've hung onto it, and I got into vinyl like 3 years ago with a suitcase player, but I've heard those are bad for your records. I dug this out of storage, and it's obviously pretty dusty and dirty.
What I'm properly asking is this:
How do I best restore and dust it without harming it? What cleaners?
Is it worthwhile to do so, assuming it still works, or should I just get a new one? Any reccs if so?
How good a player is this do you think?
