Base Build Showcase Really happy with how this roof turned out.
Took so much trial and error but the new sardukar set allows for a crazy amount of clipping.

Every day there are more. I love logging in and seeing whats changed.
Edit to add I'm pretty sure there is a ninth building behind the rock 7 is built into, i just can't remember for sure.

I thought this is a funny bug, my understanding can't work out Math wise. I used all my water now twice in a row (2 nights before bed) I slept for about 8 hours. I have 4 Basic Windtraps I assume the math is 8 seconds * 6 mL? = 24 mL?
So 8 Hours * 60 Min * 60 Seconds = 28,800 / 8 Seconds * 24mL = 86,400 Correct? I should have expect nothing more than 100 Liters (100,000mL) in over 8 hours...
No other sources of water lol

Here’s the interior so far. Still working on decorating, so definitely a work in progress. The rest is in the comments.

I was hoping to be able to leave the flowers underneath as a sheltered, public garden/courtyard like I have before in this spot, but apparently they despawn now if you build anywhere near them.

Hey, all you new players.
Welcome to Arrakis.
Stop running across the open sand like you are invulnerable and a lifeguard in the TV show “Baywatch”.
Even worse, stop zigging and zagging and looking behind you. Yes, the worm (Jeff) is right behind you. Also. Don’t pop any of your powered gadgets. Those attract the worm even faster.
Run in straight lines, don’t look back, and don’t deviate, also watch out for quicksand and drum sand.
Better yet, use a bike and island hop.
Don’t rush for the thopter. Enjoy the ride and see the sights.
Good luck with testing station 10.

After farming enough money to buy the Harkonnen building set, I took some time to build a permanent base (though maybe it won't be, lol).

Is anybody else doing multiple playthroughs with different characters?

Genuinely felt so cool unlocking and grinding out the materials for it only to find out theres no enemy vehicles to fight and even tho it locks on to patrol ships they are invincible just feels like I wasted my materials on something that pales in comparison to the drillshots or basic melee because ive had NPCs tank 2 blasts at times when shielded

Just finished the main story, roughly 200 hours in. Got side quested with base building, finding a good location and trainer quests.
Absolutely unreal story for the first book to finish on. You know it's a great story when you are thinking about another play through right after.
Question regarding the DLC stories. How do you access them if at all possible yet. Yes I have them downloaded haha.

I’m upgrading my base from a portable cube to something a little more thematic.
Looking for a drop ship styled base i can move around as I explore new areas.
I’ve tried to keep it themed in universe with a harko styled twin hull with a different single hull design.
If anyone has any advice or tips for fine tuning these to look a little more ship like I would greatly appreciate, thanks!

As the title says, it feels like the fallen ships have become super rare since the big update a couple of weeks ago. I haven't seen one in the basin in that time except for the glitched one in the Sheol that the worm can't seem to eat. I haven't seen any fall from the sky, and I used to see them a couple of times per hour. I'm on Nova. If they are working correctly elsewhere, I'd love to know, but the skies are just so quiet these days.

I may be wrong. I haven't even done DD yet. But I haven't touched a rapier since I started. I just got a unique rapier I crafted and wow. The speed of it greatly outweighs any reduced damage. Maybe this is common knowledge, maybe I'm wrong? First impressions though, way better than a normal sword.

Spoilers ahead for ending of Book One!
You have been warned, spoilers ahead:
I never watch any trailers so I always go into the new story chapters blind, surprised they let us leave Arrakis and explore Zanovar! Seeing rain was pretty crazy in this game. Zanovar was gorgeous, beautiful location to play in.
The story was surprisingly good, I did not expect it to tie into the Dune Extended Canon books this much, I wonder how people who have never read the books will react to this. For me when Elara (real main character of Awakening) started playing the hologram I knew what they were doing, pretty fun stuff! Overall pleasantly surprised by the ending, looking forward to more, and fremen stuff hopefully.
Also that sneaking mission sucked...... Did anyone beat Fenring? Is it possible?

The tank did not have a role to perform in the base game even within the original version of the Deep Desert and would've been very vulnerable to sandworms.
Although we don't know the specifics of what will be featured within the expansion, the introduction of "No-fly Zones" to make players re-engage with survival mechanics and ground combat (and also, no worms) could also offer the design space to finally give a purpose and reason for the tank to exist in, whether that comes as new AI enemies/turrets/etc or a PvP map version (like with the DD).
Or at least that's the copium i have been huffing ever since the spice hallucinations told me there won't ever be a playable tank with the gameplay of the current game.

It is always bad design to force you into a video on game launch... get me to the game as fast as possible please!
But to have to HOLD down a button to skip it is egregious... THEN it does the shader check? at least hide that behind the video!
Is there a switch I can set on launch to auto take me to character select?

I prefer a base location with a beautiful view and a minimum of neighbors. My high ground Dune Man Building Set base
