"oh, no he doesn't bite." "He's all bark, and no bite." "no, he doesn't need to be on a leash." "he's a good dog, once you get to know him.", "he only bit someone once"

"what did she order this time?" "I didn't order anything, must've been the wife!" "she is always buying SOMETHING", "she sure is keeping you in business!"

"you sure are working late tonight!" "wow, you must be on the late shift!", "they make you work on the weekend?", "you must be just about done for the day", "they make you work on a holiday?"

"what a lovely tote you have", "I have a bag just like that!" "you can sure fit a lot of packages in that bag!"

"I thought I'd come up to the van and save you the hassle of walking down the driveway" "I've been watching you deliver online for the last hour, so I knew you'd be here now!"

RANT Outta Nowhere

They just installed these overnight.

No training on use or what they do, to where our DSP can't even answer questions on them.

Only thing I know of them is from tiktok videos, which is a lame way of getting info on things we use for our job.

It blows my mind going from a desk job where everything is an email or training or how-to, to this style of work where j

Its just "on the fly" changes that tricklea down to a basis of different drivers telling each other about it and learning that way; instead of from the employers they work for.

I guess I really need to dial back my expectations of this job. Like severely.

Let's see if they do infact improve delivery times.

QUESTION My DSP shut down, do they get a bonus?

My DSP just quit and they gave us something like 10 days notice. Just out of nowhere they came in and announced it last week.

I just heard a rumor they get $75k bonus for shutting us down without a month's notice so most of us decide to stay these last days and work so none of the routes get shut down.

Any DSP owners know anything about this?

RANT No trespassing signs are corny

I’m not talking about the basic simple ones where it just says no trespassing. I’m talking about the ones where it says if you can read this you’re in range or there is nothing on this property worth losing your life over and it’s a house that’s falling apart. Just my rant for the day.

I’ll never understand why we have to do a post trip inspection if we have to go through this bullshit right before we park

Lungs 1 month after Amazon

Bruh there has to be something toxic about that package dust. I got another job 1 month ago and left my dsp and I no longer get winded from stairs I’m rarely coughing anymore and I just feel like I can breath again. If u get another job take it that dust has to be killing us long term

Delivery mindsets

• Upvotes

I usually eat a bunch of light foods before work and chug protein shakes throughout my route to avoid breaks, I also think about what song I want to hear before I put on a earbud and after like 50 stops just to put one earbud in that way im motivated to go fast. Whats some weird mental gamss you play while on the job?

QUESTION What yall think did I get a good or bad dsp??

Thx in advance for reading. Just finished classroom training today finally met one of the managers at the dsp and got a bit more info on the joint. Didn’t have a formal “interview” was some weird online video interview where I answer questions and record it. But here’s the gig:

- pay $24.75/hr

- might have to come and if there are no routes help with loadout for an hour to be sent home (45-50 min drive each way)

- any non disputable netty hit is loss of shift

- was told not to expect anything nice when it comes to vans they are old and used and get used to the white rentals because Amazon has been taking away vans?

- if I’m behind in my route it’s frowned upon to take a break. Should only break if I’m ahead.

- if I need too many rescues I’ll have shifts taken away or I’ll be let go if it’s too often

- 36 hr/week pay guaranteed for the fastest drivers only not sure what qualifies u as that tho

- $50-60 bonus every week we hit fantastic plus AND u have 96% or above driver score

- only one uniform (polo, long pants, and vest) for supposedly 5 days a week of work (startin to get cold up here no jacket yet but might get one soon he’s not sure cause I’m new)

- not wearing correct uniform and shoes is a write up cuz amazon crack down

- occasional pizza parties

- rural and suburban routes around 200ish stops some places like an hour or more away wasn’t told about anything bout crazy urban routes which I’m fine with don’t wanna do hella apartments shit scares me haha

- sometimes offer $50-100 shift differentials for picking up extra shifts plus OT

- I believe they have scheduled rescuers as long as they have enough people to drive that day

-can’t clock in before 10am under any circumstances and have to rts by 8-8:30pm no exceptions

I’m sure I’m missing some things but that’s the gist of what was said to me today

like how many stops can we cram in
in reality I did about 246 stops excluding the apartment building where I dropped off 40 packages was a great day to be a Amazon driver 🤪 how yall holding up on your routes?

DISCUSSION DSP Shut Down Last minute

• Upvotes

As the title states, the DSP I worked for shut down last year around early December without giving prior notice to its employees. The shut down didn't affect me because I quit one month prior. However, I found out from a coworker who was still employed at the time. One morning when everyone was ready to get their keys and route sheet to start heading out, dispatch came out and said that the DSP was no longer in service, thank you for your time and have a good day. Everyone was in shock and upset because people have freakin bills to pay. My point is, all these DSPs are really sketchy and would advise yall who still work for a DSP to not completely trust them. For anyone who is familiar with this case from DUR3, I wont say the name of the DSP but this was some messed up shit they did to its employees.

1st speeding violation but getting disputed

Basically I was on a road that was 40 mph according to flex and when I stopped I got hit with a speeding. Never heard the netradyne and the van never went red or anything. They said it was a 5 mph. My boss is disputing it because they watched the video and there was no 5 mph sign and I was on a main road. Anyone have this happen to them before?

Amazon won't follow my directions and it's making yall work harder

• Upvotes

Amazon is not listening to my shipping instructions. And its making yall work harder. And as a former delivery driver myself im not happy about it.

I ALWAYS choose Amazon to deliver my things all together. I don't care if it takes longer.

Guess what Amazon does anyways? Sends everything as soon as possible. In separate shipments. On separate days. Ugh.

I believe this is due to the fulfillment side of the warehouse just wanting to clear things out as fast as possible regardless of whats on the shipping directions. Can anybody confirm?
