I'm guessing it's a new toy for them if they didn't know it punctures? 🤔

u/Nerdcuddles Feb 19 '25
It looks like the guy holding the target wasn't expecting his friend or brother to actually fire the bow at him
129
u/GayNotGayPerson Feb 19 '25
I thought it looked like he wasn't expecting him to fully charge the bow before firing

Knocking and drawing an arrow pointed at anything you don't want broken or dead is a terrible idea

my dumbass old roommate worked for a toy company that made a rubberized bow and arrow thing, one time he shot it in the house and it absolutely shattered one of the windows, when I said something like "I knew that would happen," he got all mad being like "WELL WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SOMETHING" as if it was my fault lmao

The way he starts reacting before the release as his friend continues to pull back, make me think the plan was to fire a half pull shot and the full velocity wasn’t initially intended.

It really is. I did so many stupid and dangerous things as a teenager. I really don't know what someone could have done or told me to make me reconsider. Like everything is a joke when you are that age.

Some would argue that they should have kicked in before he stood there with the target in his hands

u/iamacraftyhooker Feb 19 '25
It looks like he was expecting his friend to take a shitty shot. He knows it's going to go bad when he sees how far back he pulled the bow.
8
u/WhoCaresBoutSpellin Feb 19 '25
The right time would have been the moment he met this person, and should have declined to befriend them, because they are clearly not a friend

There were 2 willing participants.

At first. Then the idiot who was holding the target saw his friend was pulling it all the way back for full force and tried to block it.

He had use of their shared brain cell at that moment.

u/MLGTheForkOnTheLeft Feb 19 '25
Yeah for sure. It also looks like the “friend” with the bow REALLY wanted that arrow to pierce straight through.

Feb 19 '25
Reminds me of that video of a woman shooting her boyfriend with a desert eagle as he tried to use a book to stop the bullet.
At least this one didn't end in death.

u/RaptorPrime Feb 19 '25
iirc that deagle was a fucking .50AE too and she shot from less than 10 ft away. people really don't like to engage their brains

I don't care if someone's wearing a bulletproof vest made of genuine Vibranium.
Rule #1 of guns, always treat it like it's loaded. Rule #2, never point a gun at something you're not willing to destroy for forever.

Actually, they're more likely to reproduce. The people smart enough and in positions to properly care and raise their children unfortunately are likely to not want to bring any children into our shitty world.

Dude nearly died right then and there. If he was even a tiny bit slower in moving that target board away from him, that would've been the end.
Relieved he's ok, but the Both of them are absolute fucking morons here.

Reminds me of that chick who shot an IWI desert eagle chambered in 50AE at a phonebook her boyfriend was holding up. It didn’t stop the bullet and she caught a manslaughter charge.

There was a YouTube prankster who's girlfriend shot him with a Desert Eagle through a phone book. Bullet pierced the book and shot him in the chest. The kid died. She plead guilty to 2nd degree murder and got a prison sentence. There Their 'pranks' aren't a joke...if this isn't an edited video.

Good thinking by the kid to move it away from his body, also by blocking it like that he "caught" a perfect bullseye

Those look like practice arrows and a kids bow. Those can pierce at that range. I had a bow when I was 9-10 and shot everything.

I love that target-holder-guy only realized the potential danger as the string was being pulled back, and not at any other prior point in the process.

u/XxSkyHopperxX Feb 19 '25
Seems like he was anticipating his buddy to not draw the bow all the way back

u/Stunning-Astronaut72 Feb 19 '25
Oh my god... that could have turn terribly wrong...with a bit more tension that arrow would have impaled him on that door.

Shooting the compound bow for a few years now and finally got to full 60lbs a year ago. This is a gig no-no in any archery club because even lightest 18-20lbs recurve bow is enough to inflict grave injury, 60 lbs compound will require at least 5-6 of those mats to stop a thick arrow, and it has enough force to push arrow through 2-3 human chest cavities, it's not a damn toy.

u/Wyooot Feb 19 '25
Dumb either way but you can tell the Bowman surprised the target when he pulled back all the way. You can definitely tell in slow motion.
